Chapter 435: Chapter 433: Misunderstanding after another (1)
"Wait a second!" Sui called out.
However, the figure ahead picked up speed, her wooden clogs making a rapid clattering sound on the pavement. She lifted the hem of her kimono as she ran, revealing her smooth, round thighs. Despite wearing traditional clogs, she moved surprisingly fast.
Sui couldn't help but feel speechless. From the glimpse he caught earlier, it was clear that the person fleeing was a girl. She wore a red kimono and a baseball cap, appearing young and somewhat suspicious.
Without wasting time, Sui chased after her, quickly closing the distance.
"I said, stop running!" he called out, exasperated.
The girl clearly hadn't expected Sui to be so fast. A flicker of panic crossed her eyes, and she tried to run even faster.
With a sigh, Sui reached out and grabbed her by her clothes. "Hold on a moment!"
"Ah!"
The girl let out a startled cry, and due to the momentum of her sprint, a part of her kimono tore, revealing her smooth, snow-white back and a glimpse of her white undergarments. She turned around and glared at Sui, her face flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment.
"Uh… sorry about that." Sui quickly released his grip, but this only made things worse.
Without support, the girl lost her balance and tumbled forward onto the ground. Her baseball cap flew off, revealing her long black hair.
"Are you alright?" Sui asked, rushing to her side.
The girl sat on the ground, disheveled and clearly irritated. Her kimono had slipped off her shoulders, exposing her delicate, smooth skin. Her two clogs had flown far away, and her cap lay beside her. Her legs, clad in white socks, peeked out from beneath the kimono, her thighs exposed to the cool air.
She looked young and beautiful, with striking purple-red eyes and long, neatly tied purple hair that fell in twin ponytails, held by a red ribbon. Her bangs were neat, with two strands framing her face.
At the moment, however, she was frowning, rubbing her bruised knee, and glaring at Sui in annoyance.
Sui felt a bit helpless. "Why did you run off like a thief when I called out to you?"
As he observed her more closely, he realized she was likely older than he first thought. She had a more mature appearance, possibly in her twenties. Calling her a "girl" seemed inappropriate.
Sui retrieved her two clogs, walked over, and knelt down to help her put them on.
"You…"
The girl looked surprised, her face momentarily flushing pink.
"Are you okay?" Sui asked, standing up and offering his hand to her.
With a proud huff, the girl accepted his hand and allowed him to help her up.
Once on her feet, Sui looked her over curiously. "What were you doing, sneaking around like that?"
The girl's expression instantly changed, her brows furrowing in indignation. She placed her hands on her hips, staring him down. "I should be the one asking that! What are you doing in her room?!"
Sui blinked in confusion, noticing the familiar black-purple hair and red eyes. His mind raced—could she be Utaha's sister?
Was the scene just now happening because I mistook the apartment next door to Eriri for Utaha's apartment?
So, I misunderstood her.
Awkwardly scratching his head, Sui apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm actually your sister's friend."
"Oh? You call me sister?"
The woman's eyes narrowed slightly, with a hint of teasing in them.
"Um, aren't you her sister?"
Su Mu couldn't help but ask.
"Not quite. I'm her mother. Name's Sayuri." The woman's lips curled into a playful smile, her red eyes gleaming with amusement, like she had just pulled off a prank.
Sui froze, utterly speechless. He looked her up and down again. Could she really be Utaha's mother? She didn't look anywhere near the age of someone with a daughter in her twenties. If anything, she appeared to be in her early twenties herself.
How could she be over thirty and still look this young?
Watching his shocked expression, Sayuri couldn't help but smirk, clearly pleased with his reaction.
"I wanted to check in on how my daughter was living," Sayuri explained. "But since you've already caught me, I suppose I'll stop sneaking around."
"Right... Please come in." Sui, still a bit dazed, led her to the door of Utaha's apartment.
"Huh? So this is where she lives?" Sayuri mused aloud. "I thought it was the one next door."
Sui retrieved the key from under the doormat and opened the door, the ease with which he did so not escaping Sayuri's notice. Her sharp eyes narrowed.
This boy seems 'awfully' familiar with my daughter's place...
Upon stepping into the apartment, Sayuri appeared surprised. The room was far tidier than she had expected, considering her knowledge of her daughter's usual sloppiness.
"Uh, I've cleaned up a bit," Sui said with a cough, noticing her curious glance.
"Really? I didn't realize you had that in you," Sayuri replied, raising an eyebrow.
After inviting Sayuri to sit on the sofa, Sui headed to the kitchen to prepare some tea. Sayuri, observing him with growing intrigue, was quietly amazed.
Her daughter had rented this apartment to work on her creative projects, and Sayuri had come to check on her living situation out of concern. She hadn't expected to find a boy here who seemed so comfortable, as if it were his own home.
Could it be… that they were living together? Were they dating?
Sui returned with a cup of tea. "Here you go, Auntie. Please have some tea."
Sayuri, despite her growing suspicions, maintained a calm facade. She took a sip from the cup and then asked, feigning nonchalance, "So, are you living here with my daughter? Have you... done it? Sex."
Sui, in the middle of drinking his tea, immediately spat it out in shock.
