Chapter 1039: Prideful Sun
Kory stood still for a few seconds, staring mindlessly into the horizon. Her magic spiked up as the two draconic bloods started mixing. Two blood, two brains, but a single soul, Kory's existence had started fighting for unison, wavering between madness and sanity.
The two heads slowly started merging into one as her scales shifted color, taking on a light shade of pink{Cosmos}. Gamond could feel and see the magic crackling around Kory's body, it was familiar yet strange, a more innate, primal form of temperature magic.
The air around Kory started rapidly heating and cooling down, shattering the ground itself in the process. "She's unable to control her magic, keep away from her!" Gamond yelled as she shifted into her draconic form, grabbing Kory with her jaw like a cat and flying away with her.
Unlike the last time, Kory wasn't going on a rampage, she instead didn't move an inch, sitting still while her magic rampaged. Due to the two brains fighting for dominance over the body, she couldn't spare any energy toward keeping her magic in check. She's effectively having a dual-brain seizure.
Gamond quickly found a large mountain with an amazing cave inside where she put Kory to rest. From the smell alone Gamond could tell that Kory herself wasn't in any danger now, her body was simply trying to adjust to its new physiology.
Gamond looked at Kory for a few minutes before locking the cave with ice and leaving her to rest inside. Her two brains need time to learn how to coexist and live together. While the two brains can think separately, it won't do to have them both sending signals to her heart or fundamentum with different orders. Earlier one of Kory's brains was sending signals to her heart and fundamentum saying that they were about to enter a fight and wanted to spike her magic and blood pressure up, while the other brain sent signals opposing that, asking the two organs to calm down.
This conflict is what plagued Kory's body and for it to be solved Gamond opted to leave Kory alone with as little outside stimulus as possible so the brains could take their time to synchronize.
When Gamond returned to the girls she found them waiting for her, "How is she doing?"
"Need a few hours to rest. I hope she'll be fine by the evening." Gamond shifted back to her humanoid form and approached the four girls, "Speaking of her, can I take it that you say yes, for both of us?"
"Yes, no more complaints. You proved yourself by withstanding Gojo." Aella looked at her with a smile, "Welcome home." She smiled.
"One last advice." Eris looked at her, "You've met the maid, Tina, right?"
Gamond nodded and Eris smiled, "Make sure to listen to her well. Arad takes her words very seriously."
"But she isn't one of the wives…" Gamond looked confused for a second, "Wait, I did smell another human with her smell in Hati's house."
"Little Serin, her daughter. Like you, she already had a newborn daughter when Arad picked her up. Now, Serin is Arad's adopted daughter which is why he's extremely defensive about her mother." Eris cracked her neck, "Mainly watch up to your cold magic, he'll be mad if you make her sick."
"I knew, I even warned Kory about that when we first arrived."
"We'll, with that sorted out, what can you do?" Eris cracked her fists.
"I can't cook, I mainly worked as Isbert's nail care specialist. If it's witch's nails then you probably won't find anyone better than me to repair and paint them." Eris and Merlin used witch's nails as spellcasting focus which meant it'll be Gamond and Kory's job to keep them at their best.
"How about fighting, you're strong I can tell that, but just how much?" Aella pulled her bow, "Mind if we tested it out? So we can know what to expect in a real fight. It might sound strange, but we regularly fight powerful monsters and enemies."
"Yeah…Merida sighed, last time we even clashed with a demi-god." She looked at her sword, it was as sharp as ever, faintly ringing as it sliced through the air.
"So you want a fight? Even if the three of you worked together you won't be able to defeat me, it's not even a question." Gamond didn't expect Arad's wives to act as drakainas did. Usually, when a dragon gets multiple drakainas or the reverse, they fight amongst each other to decide their ranking in the layer.
Arad's wives wanted to fight not to decide their ranking but to better understand how each other fight and what they could and couldn't do so when a real deadly battle occurs they'll know who can fight who and under what conditions.
"Can't beat you? Who decided that?" Eris lifted her hand conjuring a one-foot wide purple sun. The sheer heat emerging from it started melting the ground all the way to a hundred meters around her.
Merlin teleported away as she still had to prepare for her fight with Arad, but the other girls remained to fight Gamond. Each of them knew that they didn't have a single shred of hope to defeat her in a head-on brawl so they wouldn't dare hold back and go for the kill.
"That's toasty," Gamond said with a large smile on her face, standing in her place unbothered with Eris's deadly heat. "But this tiny light of yours can't even scratch me."
"Kneel to the sun," Eris said with a passive face and Gamond suddenly felt an ungodly force pulling her toward the purple sun. Gravity magic? And a powerful one at that.
"Suns aren't just balls of molten plasma, they also possess a natural gravitational force that far outclasses anything created by magic." Even with how heavy Gamond was she was still pulled to Eris's sun.
Aella and Merida didn't seem affected by the sun's gravity, not even the ground. She can control what gravity affects.
Gamond smiled as she jumped away, "I'm a master at tug of war, you won't pull with such a weak force."
"I see, so you run away." Eris smiled as she still didn't need to take a single step away from where she was standing. "If you compare this to a tug of war then I'm disappointed." Eris let go of the purple sun and it flew straight toward Gamond.
Gravity is an attraction force, if Gamond won't get pulled to the sun then the sun will get pulled toward her, and she has no way of outrunning it. Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire
In the blink of an eye, the sun hit Gamond and exploded into a massive purple blast of plasma, dropping her to the ground.
The moment Gamond landed she burst laughing, "A nice trick, but I've already told you, you can't even scratch my scales with such a sun…." She immediately shut up seeing Eris in the sky riding a 100 meter wide purple sun.
"The sun soars above all, you included." Eris kicked the sun down at Gamond's face, smacking her to the ground in an explosion that shook the whole continent.
As the massive mushroom cloud reached the upper atmosphere Eris flew there and looked down with a passive face. She could still sense Gamond's magic burning strong, even such an attack that left a thousand-kilometer-wide crater of charred ground wasn't enough to kill her.
Eris was already strong on her own, but now that she had become a demi-goddess with thousands of vampires and paladins worshipping her, Arad included, and with Amaterasu's support she had already reached a level that was almost unheard of.
Ice exploded from the center of the crater, freezing Hati's whole training world as Gamond shifted into her draconic form, laughing, "You're the first woman after Isbert to hit me this hard!"
"Then I hope you're ready for what's coming next." As the snow and smoke cleared Gamond found herself surrounded by millions and millions of demons.
"Demons, March!" Merida pointed her sword at Gamond as she sat on the peak of a mountain.
