[You Will Now Wake Up]

Suddenly I got pulled back to a reality where I hadn't died. The terrain was just where I had been with the numerous pervasive crystals dangling in the air.

I readied myself for what was to come this time. My energy reserves were extremely low, but it was regenerating, and soon enough, I would have enough strength to charge up and attack with energy blasts.

Now however, I had to use my fists and items.

[The Gluttonized Sentry]

The notification rang in mind soon as I noticed a hostile presence. And then, like before, the fat body of a man charged at me holding a large hammer.

I equipped both my Wyvern Blade and Draconic Dagger ready to trade blows.

He was just a few inches away when he swung the hammer at my torso. There was a loud clang, followed by the sound of metal trying to push through an obstacle.

I stood, the hammer just inches away from hitting me. I had intercepted the blow with my Wyvern Blade, stopping such a powerful attack with just an arm strength was no small feat, and I could sense beyond that helmet of his, that he was shaken by this.

It raised the hammer down to smash my head, I backstepped and the top struck the ground causing a mild shrilling sound as ripples spread across.

It raised its face to me, and the helmet tore open. A brown fluid jetted from the gap in the helmet and came at me. An acid attack.

I easily avoided the streak of smelly hot fluid. The Gluttonized Sentry however didn't stop there. He marched, the ground booming to his steps.

I readied myself once more, anticipating a similar swing like the previous one. However, once it was halfway the distance between us, it jumped, spinning about and about with the hammer and then fell it with a loud boom.

I had moved out of the way from the attack, backflipping. Though I was certain that I was stronger that he was, I wasn't confident in blocking the attack without what would be more than scratches.

It swiped its right hand at me, an eerie black glow accompanying it.

My eyes widened as I realized what was up. Black blots zoomed from my right side.

Haven would have been perfect for this, but I could dodge multitude of small attacks with no sweat, right?

The blots were about the size of a fist, and they neared close to five hundred. I instantly backstepped as they rained at me, falling back and to the sides.

I moved so quickly, so smoothly and I intercepted a few from hitting me with swings of my blade. I engaged in this for over ten minutes, my feet on the edge and quick.

Once the blots disappeared, I stood kilometers away from where I had been and where my opponent stood. My breathing was haggard, I was close to exhaustion, something I hadn't experienced in a while. Enjoy new chapters from empire

It was like the guard expected this response from me. It took a slow step forward, and then began charging right at me.

An aura built around it as it approached, the ground booming to the strength of his steps.

"Let's dance." I muttered, arching forward with my blades gripped as tightly as they could possibly be gripped.

The distance between us grew short, and it seemed like it would drive itself into me. I didn't let this happen however. I was going to get hit by the attack, but it wasn't like I had the power to stop it in its tracks at that moment, or at least I didn't believe that I could.

Instead, I launched myself away and to the side, flipping and squarely landed some meters away.

Just as my feet touched the fragile looking surface, this bulbous man occupied my peripheral vision about to crash into me, when again, but barely, I managed to move out of harm's way.

It was exhausting to be in the defense like this, but it was what I could do against a man that looked like he could destroy a thousand men with just a charge.

'I would stall until I regain most of my strength.' I thought, just before I remembered that there was a timer for this. I was used to fighting opponents without time restrictions that I had forgotten that the minutes went down behind my back.

My attention was also entirely directed to the sentry as any look away from it might mean my death. I might be immortal, but I didn't enjoy dying.

[Time remaining to defeat The Gluttonized Sentry: 12 minutes]

I had spent over fifteen minutes retreating and playing just defense. I would need to strike back, firm and hard if I wanted to stand a chance to defeat this thing before time was up.

I held my blades, my face stern. The sentry merely stood, his large hammer held horizontally by its chest.

It could tell that I wanted to attack this time, and it waited that I did so.

I stormed forth, my feet quick as I approached.

"Hyaa!" I let out my battle cry as I approached.

I got right in front of the massive man, and I swung my blades to its sides. If things went as smoothly as I had planned, then my blades would cleave right through the monster of a man, and his guts would be spilled out.

That wasn't what happened however. He backstepped, and my blades hit a thicker metal with a low clanging sound. He had merely moved just the needed meters to escape a graze from my blades. He held his hammer upright just where he had been.

I slowly looked up at him, and I could sense that he was smiling behind the mask. He had me where he wanted.
