The Eight Empresses Betrayed Me, Only to Deeply Regret It After Being Reborn

Chapter 59:

Chapter 059: A Crushing Sweep:

Moral coercion? Opportunistic scheming? A gathering of fools?

Lu Ye gazed at the people before him, identifying his opponents. He had no intention of becoming an enemy to humanity, and thankfully, this group of fools did not represent the entire race.

“Let’s begin,” Lu Ye said as he rose to his feet.

With a single step, he seemed to ignore the constraints of space, appearing instantly before Gu Qingtian.

The stone sword in his hand erupted with radiant light, slashing through the air with a deafening explosion.

Gu Qingtian’s face turned grim.

Above his head, an illusory green lotus appeared, cascading with what seemed to be chaotic light, forming a powerful shield.

The sword light collided with the lotus’s protective aura.

“Boom!”

Gu Qingtian was blasted backward, crashing through a small mountain. Blood mist lingered in the air as his body tumbled to the ground.

Lu Ye’s figure didn’t pause for even a moment. In an instant, he vanished again.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The sharp whistling of the sword light pierced through the air, showcasing its terrifying speed and power.

It was too fast. Unbelievably fast.

Some of the stronger cultivators couldn’t defend themselves and died on the spot.

One man, one sword—this was Lu Ye’s punishment for their provocation.

“Lu Ye!” Ding Yuqing shouted, her face pale with alarm.

He couldn’t kill them all. This level of enmity wasn’t worth it.

If Lu Ye slaughtered everyone here, he’d have no place left in the Grand Wilderness once he left the Prodigy’s Ancient Battlefield.

But Lu Ye ignored her cries.

His sword strikes grew more ferocious and terrifying.

Normal sword qi emphasized sharpness, but Lu Ye’s sword qi was not just sharp—it was overwhelmingly forceful. Each strike felt like a heavenly seal crashing down with the power to shatter the heavens.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Blood mist exploded repeatedly.

Shangguan Wuchang’s expression twisted in horror. Before entering the battlefield, he had said, “If I fail, I’ll die,” but that didn’t mean he truly wanted to die.

“Protect me!” Shangguan Wuchang screamed.

The powerhouses of the Supreme Imperial Court rushed to shield him, their treasures glowing brilliantly.

Lu Ye swept aside anyone in his way with astonishing speed. Soon, only the Supreme Imperial Court’s people stood before him.

“Lu Ye, I carry the Supreme Imperial Seal! If you kill me, the Supreme Imperial Court will never stop hunting you!” Shangguan Wuchang roared.

His words nearly made his allies curse him aloud. Begging for mercy would have been better than this.

Lu Ye smirked, pointing his stone sword at the group.

He stomped heavily on the ground.

“Boom!”

The earth trembled violently.

Countless streams of sword qi surrounded Lu Ye, forming a sharp, deadly cone.

“Die!”

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Blood mist erupted in massive waves as Lu Ye tore through the Supreme Imperial Court’s defenders, piercing through Shangguan Wuchang along with them.

In his final moments, Shangguan Wuchang’s eyes were filled with disbelief.

A lunatic! This man was a complete lunatic! Didn’t he realize that slaughtering so recklessly would spell his doom the moment he left the battlefield?

With that thought, Shangguan Wuchang’s consciousness faded.

A glowing mark flew toward Lu Ye. He reached out and caught the Supreme Imperial Seal, crushing it in his hand. The mark disintegrated, reduced to nothingness.

But Lu Ye wasn’t done yet.

His gaze shifted to the heavily injured survivors.

Protect humanity?

In his past life, he had fought to protect humanity. In this life, he would do the same. Love and emotion should exist in the world. Just because he had lost them didn’t mean everyone else should.

But these so-called humans before him were not the ones he sought to protect.

Lu Ye moved again, determined to finish the job.

Ding Yuqing could no longer stay silent. She stepped in front of him.

“Lu Ye, stop! You still have to leave this place. They’ve learned their lesson. If you keep killing, not even the Grand Dao Sect can protect you!” she pleaded urgently.

These people had provoked the conflict, and while Lu Ye’s retaliation had been brutal, it was still justifiable. But if he continued to slaughter the defenseless, even the Grand Dao Sect wouldn’t be able to justify his actions.

“Junior Brother Lu, stop,” Linghu Wushuang said, joining in to persuade him.

“Exactly, Junior Brother, calm down!” Xiao Huarong added.

Lu Ye…

He had intended to kill them all. But seeing the worry in his sect members’ eyes, he smiled faintly.

So there were still people who cared about him?

Sigh…

“Fine. One more. Just one last one.”

Ding Yuqing clenched her fists. Lu Ye’s strength was terrifying—so overwhelming it made her shudder. This battle could only be described in four words: a crushing sweep.

She knew that if Lu Ye truly wanted to do something, she couldn’t stop him. He was only sparing them out of respect for her.

But one more…

“You’re not thinking of killing…” she began.

Lu Ye nodded, giving her a warm smile as he stepped past her. His target was Gu Qingtian.

Climbing out of a pile of rubble, Gu Qingtian’s face was a mix of shock and fury.

“Impressive strength! Truly impressive! I…” His aura surged as he broke past the Infant Breaking stage into the Void Refinement Realm.

But that was all he managed to do.

Lu Ye brought his sword down in a vertical slash. The sword light spanned hundreds of meters, carrying storm winds, mist, thunder, and lightning.

Gu Qingtian roared, “The Eternal Green Lotus Rules the Heavens!”

An enormous green lotus grew above him, covering the sky.

The sword light collided with the lotus. The green lotus trembled violently as veins bulged on Lu Ye’s arms.

With sheer strength, he pressed down harder.

“Shatter!”

Boom!

The green lotus shattered instantly, disintegrating into dust. The massive sword light obliterated everything, including Gu Qingtian, leaving a deep scar on the earth.

The world fell silent.

Lu Ye sheathed his stone sword and looked at the remaining people.

“This was my doing alone. If anyone seeks revenge, come find me. I’ll be waiting.”

“And…” He paused, then waved dismissively. “Forget it. Leave.”

Lu Ye disappeared, returning to the Enlightenment Tree. Closing his eyes, his expression remained as calm as still water. The earlier battle, fierce and fiery, now seemed like an illusion.

The gathered forces stood frozen, as if paralyzed. No one spoke for a long time.

Ding Yuqing shivered, her scalp tingling.

She finally addressed the group: “Let’s leave. Disturbing someone’s meditation is rude. Whatever disputes we have, let’s settle them elsewhere.”

Arguing here was out of the question. If they provoked Lu Ye again and he came out to slaughter them, she feared there wouldn’t even be anyone left to argue.

Li Wubai’s eyes gleamed with excitement. His body trembled.

So strong!

That sword intent was overwhelmingly strong!

Despite his fear, he couldn’t suppress his exhilaration.

The group gathered their dead and wounded and left.

Lu Qingyan wanted to take Gu Qingtian’s body, but there was nothing left—it had been reduced to dust. She was just grateful she hadn’t spoken earlier…
