The Epic Dragon Titan

Chapter 631: Chapter 631: Listen, Is This Something a Dragon Would Say?

Blades clashed, and Muria left a deep, bone-exposing cross wound on the White Snake's head. Using this wound as a starting point, endless sword energy and blade light wreaked havoc on the snake's body, leaving long, intersecting wounds.

Bang! Muria kicked the White Snake's body, stepping on its winding form and plummeting towards the frozen ground. The speed of the fall caused intense friction with the atmosphere, igniting flames on the snake's body, which were quickly extinguished by its icy skin.

With a loud crash, the iron-hard frozen soil rippled like water, and the ground in contact with the White Snake's body turned to dust in an instant. The earth collapsed and sank, leaving a snake-shaped chasm, a hideous wound on the land.

Muria plunged the Seven Sins Blade into the White Snake's newly regenerated heart, sealing the flow of power within its body. He then drove the Demon Sword into the cross wound on the snake's head, pinning it firmly to the frozen ground.

For ordinary creatures, such a severe injury would be fatal. However, for a high-level legendary creature like the White Snake, it was merely painful. Even with its brain destroyed, it could still think, relying on its refined soul rather than its brain.

Even if the White Snake died, it could easily become a legendary undead due to its powerful soul. However, its power would be significantly reduced, and its weaknesses would become apparent, making it an easy target.

"White Snake, you lost. Just be my energy source!" Muria laughed heartily, shaking his hand to produce a chain that seemed to be made of starlight.

With Muria's thought, the chain extended infinitely, wrapping around the White Snake's body. Ancient divine runes representing suppression appeared on the star chain. The White Snake, attempting to struggle, was met with Muria's Broadsword of Defeat, slicing it repeatedly.

The White Snake could no longer resist, lying at Muria's feet in agony, its blood, tinged with gold, seeping from countless wounds, a pitiful sight. In the battle with Muria, most of its scales had been shattered and fallen off.

"Now, as for you lot, don't think of resisting or escaping." With the White Snake subdued, Muria turned his gaze to the other craters where three frost giants and a dragon, all missing limbs, had given up struggling.

Although sent by gods, they had their own thoughts. Knowing they had an absolute advantage on the divine battlefield, the gods dared not intervene directly in the fight due to Muria's status; they merely watched.

"Don't worry, I keep my word. I won't kill you." Muria dragged the half-destroyed frost giants over, pressing the almost fully regenerated ice dragon on top of them. The star chain extended, binding all four legends. Even a legend couldn't break free once ensnared.

This chain was forged from various legendary metals, only meltable by Eternal Fire. It could bind weaker gods. Normally, Muria couldn't get this chain on a god.

"This war should end now!" Muria looked up at the sky. Mikaela's battle had ended long ago, thanks to the shameless eight-winged celestial who had broken the balance against the five legends fighting Mikaela. Three legends were slain, and the remaining two were left severely wounded.

With the nine ancient silver dragons and their kingdom's forces, the giant army quickly defeated the wild frost giants. Despite their strength, they feared death. Out of twelve thousand frost giants, thirty-four thousand fled, and the rest were captured. Many surrendered voluntarily, following the lead of their peers.

"Your Highness Muria, greetings!" As Muria stood atop his legendary prisoners, watching his subordinates clean up the battlefield, nine silver dragons approached. The largest, an ancient silver dragon, greeted Muria first. She was a significant presence, noted even by their ancestral Dragon King.

"My name is Elf Shashir."

"I have no money!" Muria interrupted the silver dragon before she could continue.

"How could you say that?" The other silver dragons were displeased. They had come to Muria expecting reimbursement for the war expenses. Each shot of the magic cannons cost money—a pay-to-win attack.

"We can talk about other things, but when it comes to money, I don't have a copper coin." Muria stood on the tightly chained white snake, looking evenly at the nine silver dragons.

"We came to help you, incurred huge expenses, and you won't reimburse us? That's unreasonable!"

"Did I ask you to come?" Muria replied, genuinely puzzled. He wouldn't give these dragons a single penny. With his overwhelming power, victory was only a matter of time. The silver dragons' arrival was just a bonus, not a necessity.

"You are too stingy!" The silver dragons were indignant. They wouldn't have come if not for the Dragon King's orders, and now it seemed like a thankless task.

"Aren't you a Titan? As a Titan, you should keep your promises. How can you be so stingy?"

"Indeed, I am a Titan, but I am also a gold dragon. Without a valid reason, you're trying to extort money from a dragon?" Muria looked at the silver dragons incredulously. Even with a valid reason, dragons were notorious for being tight-fisted.

For example, when the Dragon Kings ordered the eradication of a legendary lich from the Necromancer Council, the rewards were ostensibly impressive, including dragon scales and blood. But for a Dragon King, these were like dandruff and nail clippings.

These Dragon Kings were notoriously stingy, and their rewards reflected their nature. Dragons were not known for generosity.

"How is it not a valid reason? We brought our nation's elite forces, deployed everyone, and helped you win the war. Without us, you'd have suffered greater losses. Shouldn't you pay us for this?"

"You have a point," Muria pondered, "I'm not unreasonable, but I really have no money now."

Muria sighed, "I am currently five billion elemental crystals in debt. I truly have no spare money to pay you, so how about an IOU? I'll repay you in eight or nine thousand years, okay?"

"Eight or nine thousand years? Why not say eighty or ninety thousand years?" The silver dragons were stunned by Muria's audacity. Waiting eight or nine thousand years for repayment was absurd. It was better to say he didn't want to pay.

"In eighty or ninety thousand years, you might not live that long." Muria stroked his chin. He was confident in achieving immortality, but he doubted these dragons would survive that long.

"No, eight or nine thousand years is too long. You need to set a reasonable deadline." A silver dragon interjected, glaring at Muria.

"Don't push it. I'm willing to assume this debt, which I shouldn't have to pay, is already generous."

"But you have no intention of paying. In eight or nine thousand years, most of us will be gone!" Elf Shashir sighed.

"I have confidence I'll live that long," Muria said confidently, patting his chest.

"But we don't." The silver dragons bared their teeth, looking ready to pounce.

At the legendary level, immortality could be achieved by various means, like allying with gods, falling into the abyss, becoming a lich, or using life-extending artifacts. However, just because one could live long didn't mean they could enjoy it. The longer one lived, the more accidents they faced.

Ninety-nine percent of legends fell due to battles or accidents. Only a tiny fraction died of old age, tired of life. The White Snake at Muria's feet, in a sense, had endless life, but killing it was still possible for Muria.

"If that's the case, I'll give you an IOU. Your descendants can collect the debt from me. I guarantee the repayment of these war expenses."

The nine silver dragons and the four legendary captives were stunned by Muria's shamelessness. Listen, is this something a dragon would say?

The nine silver dragons exchanged glances, realizing this was indeed something a dragon could say, albeit extremely shameless. If word got out, it would disgrace the gold dragons. But, knowing the moral high ground, the gold dragons would likely follow suit, tarnishing their reputation collectively.

This was a corrupt practice that could spread among the metallic dragons and needed to be curbed early.
