The Eternal Bound

Chapter 7: Alpha's Instincts

"Study well! Don't go anywhere, we'll pick you up," Jake ordered. Elyna nodded obediently. She also didn't know the way home without them.

"She should be here any minute now. Sigh, always late like this. If I complain to Alpha, she's finished," Hera grumbled in annoyance. Elyna looked confused, not understanding what Hera meant.

"Never mind! Remember to wait for us later!"

The bell had rung. They had to return to their respective classes immediately. Elyna entered the classroom with Emma, greeted by different gazes from various people.

Oh come on, she's the new kid who's close to their academy idol.

Elyna, on the other hand, felt scared being stared at like that. She shrank closer to Emma. She was about to sit on her seat when suddenly they all surrounded her.

"Hey, are you their family?"

"Do you have their number? I'm their big fan! Can I ask you for their number?"

"Damn, she's so cute!"

As for the last scream, it was the murmurs of the men who were excited at Elyna's face that looked overwhelmed by the sudden arrival of humans.

She was scared because she was not used to being surrounded by many humans. It reminded her of when she was locked in a stuffy cage.

Emma, who wanted to help, seemed to have difficulty because of her petite body. She was also quite surprised that her classmates could be so enthusiastic. Usually, because their class was special, people preferred to be busy with their activities.

BANG!

"YOU'RE NOISY!"

During the chaos, Eir, who had just arrived at the academy after the break, was able to quell the chaos. The people from Elyna's class watched the tomboyish girl without blinking. Feeling watched, Eir frowned before she shouted again.

"SCRAM!"

Everyone obediently sat down in their respective places. Emma tried to pull Elyna's hand to sit down too, which was not responded to by her seatmate.

Eir looked at Elyna's face in disgust. The girl then walked past her, not forgetting to give Elyna a sharp sarcasm.

"You're so troublesome. You're so weak," she taunted her sharply. Elyna's head immediately lowered while Eir sat quietly on her favorite seat. The very back and in the corner of the teachers' blind spot.

Confused about why Eir could be in the top class?

Well, she's a genius. A gold medal winner for the school if only she wanted to change her poor behavior.

Almost threatened to be transferred to class F several times, even though she still survives in class A until now.

The only delinquent student in the class that is said to be filled with nerds.

Elyna strolled. Being called weak by her new pack member somehow felt painful.

"Are you okay?" Emma asked worriedly. Emma patted Elyna's back pityingly. She felt sorry for Elyna, who had to go through so many things at once on her first day.

"You have to stay away from Eir, Elyna! She's the class delinquent. Her words are also harsh. I heard she also often fights with anyone who gets in her way. You can just play with me. You have to cross out the word Eir from your dictionary!" Emma whispered seriously. Elyna's eyes looked sad. She wanted to be close to all the members of her new pack. But hearing Emma's words, Elyna realized that Eir might have distanced herself from her pack members until no one realized that Eir was also part of Elyna's new family.

Slowly, Elyna nodded. She didn't want to add Eir's hatred for her too.

***

The bell had rung. Elyna obediently sat quietly in her place to wait for Jake and Hera. The child shook her head slowly when Emma asked her to go home with her. She waited until the classroom was completely quiet, but there was still no sign of Jake or Hera.

BANG!

Elyna was shocked when Eir slammed her desk hard. Her face looked annoyed. She looked at Elyna, who was shaking in fear with an annoyed look.

"Come home with me," said Eir briefly. He pulled Elyna's hand roughly, to which Elyna responded with resistance.

"He, Hera said-"

"THEY HAVE BUSY SO YOU'RE GOING HOME WITH ME!" Eir snapped harshly. Elyna's hands were shaking. She didn't dare to look directly at Eir.

Eir looked down on Elyna. After a while, she clicked her tongue in annoyance.

"You're being troublesome, Luna. In less than a week, you've already made it difficult for everyone. Are you going to continue like this in the future?" Eir's scolding was scathing. Her words made Elyna immediately fall silent. She was afraid of being hated by her mate or pack. And what she fears most...

She was afraid of causing trouble to someone again.

Elyna struggled to release Eir's tight grip. Eir was just about to yell at her again before, with the remaining courage, Elyna said,

"E, Eir could just go home without me. I, I can go home alone. I'll prove I won't bother anyone anymore," sobbed Elyna. Her fears were coming true. She had just made trouble for other people again.

Eir, on the other hand, didn't mean to snap at Elyna. Honestly, she was quite surprised when she saw Elyna sad because of her words. Eir was just about to speak before Elyna gently pushed her body away.

"Eir, just go home, okay? I can go home alone. Earlier, my friend said she would go home with me. So, I'll go first, okay..."

Elyna forced a smile. She then just walked away while biting her red lips. Elyna slowly ran fast through the sky, which turned out to be raining, covering the tears that were flowing freely from her beautiful eyes.

"You useless werewolf! Get out of my sight!"

"What are you doing?! You're just a parasite in this pack!"

"Elyna... run."

"Sob, sob, I'm sorry... I'm sorry."

Elyna covered her ears tightly. She squatted under the bridge, with the rushing river flowing next to her.

Only in a place like that does Elyna feel safe. Her body shook slowly. She was starting to get cold.

Elyna's eyes were tightly closed. She was afraid of this happening. She didn't want to trouble anyone anymore. She just wanted to be useful to others.

"GET OUT OF THAT PLACE!"

A scream surprised Elyna. Her hand was pulled by someone, making Elyna sway and be pulled to climb from under the bridge.

Not long after, a strong current swept away the place. Elyna looked surprised. She didn't expect her shelter to suddenly be swept away by the river current.

"Are you stupid?! Why are you in this place alone?!"

Elyna saw the clothes of the man who had just scolded her. Elyna knew him well. It was Val, with his panting breath.

His hair, which always looked neat, started to get messy from the rain. His eyes looked angry but worried at the same time.

His flat expression was gone, and he hugged Elyna tightly.

"My inner self is screaming that you're in danger. What are you thinking? I've only left you for half a day, and you're almost swept away by the river current."

Elyna gripped Val's clothes tightly. Her eyes turned red again as her sobs began to come out.

"Sorry..." Elyna whispered. She didn't dare look at Val's face, afraid that Val would be angry like Eir.

Val sighed in relief. His big hand patted Elyna's head gently. For the first time, he remained silent as his body was wet from the heavy rain.

"Why are you here? Shouldn't Eir pick you up?" Val asked softly. Elyna was silent. What should she answer when she was the one running away from Eir?

"I..."

Elyna bit her lip. Her head was lowered as she apologized to Val.

"Sorry. I originally intended to go home by myself to be independent, but ended up getting lost here," she regretted.

Val looked skeptical at first. But as soon as he saw Elyna's body start to tremble in his arms, he realized that Elyna was starting to get a fever. Val hurriedly carried Elyna to the car, taking off her wet coat so as not to chill her further.

"Take off your coat," Val ordered the driver. Even though Val was going alone, someone had to take Val because the man left the office in a hurry. He was constantly restless throughout the trip. Unexpectedly, it was all because Val felt that his partner was in danger.

The driver complied. He quickly took off his coat and handed it to Val.

Val accepted the coat, then released his pheromones to cover the smell of other people from the coat. Val then wrapped Elyna in the large coat. However, because of her fever, Elyna's body continued to tremble even though she was wrapped in a warm coat.

"Drive the car and don't look back," Val's voice sounded cold as he spoke again to his driver. The driver, who had been Val's driver for a long time, immediately nodded. He then drove the car without looking back at all.

Val immediately took off his shirt when the car started. The body heat of a werewolf could warm other werewolves, let alone the body heat of an Alpha like Val.

Val's body rippled softly when his skin touched Elyna's directly. So close that Val could feel Elyna's heartbeat was in tune with the rhythm of his heartbeat.

Val used the driver's coat to cover both of their bodies so they couldn't be seen. Val hated someone seeing his body. But for Elyna, Val felt he could tolerate it.

Val hugged the small body tightly. Until Elyna's body stopped shaking and fell asleep comfortably on Val's chest.

Val's Alpha scent always managed to calm Elyna in various ways.
