The Extra's Reincarnation

Chapter 123: Farewell | Meeting

3 Days Later…

Finally, the morning arrived when it was time to leave for Aethel Academy.

Standing at the entrance of Ophelia's mansion, my bags packed and Vykekard secured at my side, saying goodbye proved harder than expected.

When I say everyone I knew was here, I meant everyone.

"Chief!" Mel and Fletra cried in unison.

They rushed forward, eyes wet and arms outstretched.

"Sob…Are you really leaving?" Mel's voice was half a sob.

"Don't call me that… I'm not the Chief anymore."

WAHH!

Upon hearing my words, the two burst into fresh tears, clinging to me harder.

"Everyone will miss you," Fletra sniffled. "Make sure you always come back."

WHOOSH!

"Get off me."

I pushed them away, trying to keep my composure.

"I'll be back, eventually."

Robert then approached, his expression solemn.

"Julian, ever since you dropped me to the ground as a five-year-old, my entire view on strength changed. When your known across the world someday, keep the insignia of our sector with you as a token for training with us."

He handed me a small emblem. The moment felt heavier than I'd prepared for.

The guards lined up behind him, saluting with crisp precision. Magic flared in unison above their heads—a dazzling display in my honor.

They shouted together as if commanded by Robert himself.

"Thank you, Chief!"

Mother came up next, her eyes kind yet full of something bittersweet.

"We'll miss you terribly Julian… and please… don't be such a troublemaker" she said softly.

My chest tightened as I hugged her again.

"I'll try not too, but don't worry about that I'll write a letter every week to you."

"And you'll visit during breaks," she added, echoing Ophelia's earlier assurance. I nodded firmly to convince us both.

Ophelia was more composed but no less genuine in her goodbye. Her gaze lingered on me as if memorizing every detail before I left.

"Remember why you're there," she said with quiet insistence. "Make the most of it."

I gave a final nod and turned away before I could waver any further.

[Aethel Academy, First Year Student Representative Council Room]

The large round table dominated the room, each of its eight seats occupied by a new member of Aethel Academy's first-year student representative council the SRC.

Lorraine Wintervale stood at the head, her calm presence anchoring the group.

"I trust you've all settled into your new roles," she began, surveying the eager faces around the table.

"As representatives, it's vital to make a strong impression at the first assembly. You'll be addressing not just fellow first-years but students from every year."

Franz Evera leaned back in his chair, his yellow eyes coldly assessing Lorraine.

"If that's all you've come to speak of, then I'm leaving."

He rose with an air of superiority, dismissing the gathering before anyone could object.

Lorraine watched him go, unfazed.

"I expected nothing less… he's an Evera after all…" she mumbled before turning her attention to Francine Evalina Aureus.

"What would you like to convey in your speech?"

Francine's composed blue eyes met hers confidently.

"Our year will be like no other. I hope to convey this not only to you but to everyone else."

She glanced around the table, inviting input from the others.

"We should demonstrate our dedication to excellence. Anything less would be unacceptable."

[Umi Azura, First Year - Member Of The First Years Student Representative Council]

Umi Azura spoke up first. Her dark blue hair shone under the room's lights, and her moonlit eyes were sharp with purpose.

"Honesty is key. we must show we are capable of exaggeration."

[Uzan Modan Jr, First Year - Member Of The First Years Student Representative Council]

Uzan Modan Jr, Prince Of The Modan Kingdom, his massive frame felt imposing while seated. He has long brown hair was streaked with red and tied in a warrior's braid.

"Confidence is more impressive. We are the strongest year yet."

Francine nodded thoughtfully before turning to Audrey Glacia, whose pale blue hair caught the light like spun frost.

She turned to Ezekiel Ventus, inviting his input with a small nod.

Ezekiel looked up from deep thought.

"She's right. Accurate expectations will challenge us more effectively than boasting."

"We must demonstrate not just talent but understanding."

Marcus Renfield looked around with nervous energy and just agreed with everyone.

"Yeah! What they all said."

He knew that he wasn't cut out for meetings like this.

"Perhaps the smart move is doing a bit of everything… Nothing wrong with being overachievers."

[Cullen Von Dexter, First Year - Member Of The First Years Student Representative Council]

He leaned forward slyly, his green eyes flickering with amusement under his blond curls.

Francine acknowledged him before addressing the group once more.

"What matters most is that we stand out. Let's prove we're worthy of claiming this year as our own."

Clap…clap…clap…

The vice president applauded the group for their substantial contributions to their presentation.

She recognized the potential in each individual, and considering the circumstances and the records they broke in the admission exams, it was no surprise they were regarded as one of the best classes since Saint Alonso's Era.

"There's one last matter before you guys leave… A new student will be arriving on campus today."

"Aethel has a student cap. On what grounds are they accepting someone now?"

Francine's eyes narrowed suspiciously onto Lorraine, knowing that something wasn't right.

"Special circumstances," Lorraine replied smoothly.

"I see."

Francine couldn't hide her intrigue, but didn't have a reply to such an answer.

"Make him feel welcomed," Lorraine continued. Her gaze swept the room.

"He's not just any student—he's one of the special admissions."

Surprise flickered across every face. Even Francine's composed expression wavered for a moment.

"Eh? Special admission? Even I couldn't get such a role yet he could?!"

Umi's brow furrowed at the very thought; she despised the idea of a man surpassing her in uniqueness.

"Then he didn't take the exam?" Cullen mused, scratching his head. "And he still got in?"

The revelation stirred more jealousy than curiosity in the room.

Uzan grunted, clearly annoyed but begrudgingly impressed.

"He must be someone worthy of fighting."

Ezekiel leaned back with a smile rising to his cheeks.

"We'll find out soon enough."

Lorraine gave a curt nod of satisfaction and dismissed the meeting.

"Hmph… I wonder who it could be?"

Franz was waiting outside with his arms crossed impatiently.

He walked off ahead without a word as soon as they emerged.
