The Fable of A Legend

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Sweet Stalker

Angellica Baldwin — the second daughter of the prestigious Baldwin family. She had a younger sister, a pair of twin brothers, and an elder sister. But none of that truly defined her. What truly set her apart was her rare title: SAINTESS.

With her shoulder-length, slightly wavy white hair and those deep golden eyes, Angellica looked like she'd stepped straight out of a fairytale. Her beauty alone seemed like it belonged in legends.Could a person truly look this pure yet make even top-tier models blush with envy?Yes — and her name was Angellica Baldwin.

If you're wondering what such a girl was doing… the answer was simple. She was following Baran.

Yes, arguably the most nonsensical thing to do after the opening ceremony — but Angellica had chosen it anyway. Why?The reason was admittedly childish.Even as a Baldwin, Angellica still viewed the world through rose-colored glasses, believing that as long as she didn't harm others, no one would harm her.

That innocent mindset, combined with something her elder sister said just before the ceremony, had convinced her to… tail Baran.

As for Baran himself — after the opening ceremony, almost everyone seemed intimidated by him.Which was exactly what he wanted. But there was one exception: the white-haired, golden-eyed girl who stubbornly kept following him.

Her beauty drew gazes wherever she walked — that is, until everyone realized just who she was trailing.Baran was clearly annoyed. The constant stares were something he wasn't used to.Before she started tailing him, everyone would avert their eyes, change paths, and go quiet the moment they noticed him.But ever since she started following, he'd drawn far more attention than he liked. And he hated it.

After a few more minutes of walking with the white-haired figure still behind him, Baran finally stopped and spun around.

"Why are you following me?" he asked bluntly.

"Uhm… well, what if I said I was just… curious about what you were doing?"The girl stammered, making up an excuse on the spot.

"What I was doing, huh? So… what did you see?" he pressed, his tone serious.

"Uhm… you were… walking. And… going to class. Like… everyone else."

Her awkward answer made Baran's lips curl into a faint smile."Yes. You've understood perfectly. So please… stop following me."He turned on his heel and began walking away.

"Wait!" she suddenly called out.She hadn't meant to, but her shout froze the entire hallway.

"What now?" Baran snapped, visibly irritated.

"Uhm… I just… wanted to know which class you're heading to."

Baran raised a brow at the question."And why do you want to know?"

"So I can… maybe… walk with you? If we're in the same class…"

"'Sacred Energy Theory,'" he answered curtly, trying to sound dismissive — but her reason was, at least, logical.

"You… wait. You actually answered?" she blinked, startled.

"What's your class?"

"Same. Sacred Energy Theory."

"Fine. Let's go."

As they walked, Baran realized he didn't even know her name.So he asked.

"What's your name?"

She looked at him with surprise, as though no one had ever asked her that before. But she quickly masked it."Angellica Baldwin," she said, flipping her hair over her shoulder with confidence.

"Baran Ahmethan Kaya. Nice to meet you," he replied simply, resuming his pace toward class.Angellica walked right beside him, her golden eyes fixed on his face. That made Baran sigh and break the silence."So… Angellica. What do you usually do?"

"Hmm… mostly training in magic and energy. I've even reached the third layer in magical mastery," she said, smiling sweetly.

"What about you, Baran?" she asked as she walked slightly ahead of him.

"Good question… I usually… practice swordsmanship, physical conditioning, and study magic theory," he replied with a faint grin.

Angellica placed her hand on her chin and muttered, clearly thinking aloud."Huh… this wasn't in what my sister told me about you…"

Baran's ears caught the whisper. With a smirk, he teased,"Angellica… do you think a white-haired, golden-eyed girl… could count as one of my stalkers?"

Angellica froze for a moment before realizing she'd just spoken her thoughts out loud — her cheeks flushed red.

Normally, she would have argued back. But this time, she had no words.

Baran chuckled softly at the sight.

They walked the rest of the way in silence, eventually reaching the classroom.Baran chose a seat near the back — where the rows were slightly elevated — and Angellica sat right beside him.

He didn't mind her sitting there. After all, everyone in class was staring at them anyway. And he figured this was good practice… since more eyes would undoubtedly be on him in the future.

Just then, the professor walked in and began writing her name on the board.

Cissy Fairman.
