Chapter 23: Chapter 23 – The Tyrant’s Awakening
---
The battlefield was drowned in death.
The stench of blood and decayed bones filled the air, and corpses of shattered skeletons covered the ruined dungeon floor. The towering Death Knight God, now having absorbed the Lich King, loomed over Azrael like an unstoppable force of destruction. Its aura surpassed Level 10, an existence that should not be possible.
Azrael stood beneath it, his entire body soaked in blood—his own and his enemies'. His breathing was ragged, his muscles torn and screaming in agony, yet his golden eyes burned with defiance. He gripped his sword Necrilith, the cursed blade forged from gods' remains, its edge trembling as if sensing the overwhelming power before it.
Elaris Velmira and Veyrin Malzev, who had only just regained consciousness, stared in silent horror at the scene before them.
Elaris's golden hair, stained with dust, trembled slightly as she widened her red, jewel-like eyes.
"That... that thing... it's stronger than an Aura Level 10…"
Veyrin, usually brimming with his charismatic playfulness, had gone completely pale. His fists clenched, nails digging into his palms.
"Azrael... fought through all of that alone? He's covered in blood. Yet he's still standing?"
They wanted to help.
But they knew they couldn't.
They weren't strong enough.
What stood before them was a true terror, a demonic colossus of death that even the greatest of warriors would fear.
Yet Azrael Kaelthorne stood unfazed.
Even in the face of something beyond human comprehension—he did not retreat.
Instead—
He smirked.
Blood dripped from his face, yet his expression was filled with manic exhilaration.
"I haven't killed you yet."
His voice was hoarse, his body on the brink of collapse—yet his aura flared with insane battle intent.
Then—
Necrilith began to unseal.
A pulse of black, abyssal energy erupted from the blade. The cursed sword, sealed for generations, finally responded. The blood of an unyielding tyrant had awakened it.
Azrael felt raw power surge through his veins.
