Chapter 18: Chapter 18: The Obedient Second Master

Xia Wan was being held tightly as they walked down the stairs. It was only their first day together, their third meeting, yet their actions were already so intimate. She couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.

Her cheeks were flushed a deep pink, like the glow of a sunset, and the blush showed no signs of fading.

At this moment, Xia Wan, who was so close to Huo Siyuan, suddenly noticed a stray eyelash on the corner of his eye.

Worried that the tiny eyelash might fall into his deep, mesmerizing eyes, she softly said, "Siyuan, don't move, okay?"

The moment Huo Siyuan heard his dear wife's sweet voice, he didn't dare to disobey. He immediately stopped in his tracks, happily anticipating whatever Xia Wan wanted to do with him.

Seeing that Huo Siyuan had obediently stopped, Xia Wan quickly placed her hands gently on both sides of his strong face. One hand carefully brushed around his eye area.

Although Huo Siyuan didn't know what Xia Wan was up to, he remained docile and stood still.

Before long, Xia Wan's face lit up with a radiant smile as she held up a tiny piece of fuzz between her slender fingers. "Siyuan, look! This is an eyelash that fell from you!"

Huo Siyuan, on the other hand, gazed lovingly at the woman who was smiling so brightly at him.

Time seemed to stand still in that perfect moment.

Nearby, the maids couldn't help but pause their work to watch this rare scene.

Maid 1: "Look, the Second Master really loves Madam."

Maid 2: "Yeah, you can't fake that kind of look."

Maid 3: "Today feels like a dream. I've worked here for so long, and I've never seen the Second Master with that expression before."

Maid 1: "Exactly! When have you ever seen the Second Master so attached to someone?"

Maid 2: "Madam is so lucky."

Maid 3: "Hey, do you think Madam, being so sweet, can handle the Second Master's strong possessiveness?"

The maids: "..."

Huo Siyuan stared at Xia Wan, who was so focused on tending to his eyelash, and a gentle smile spread across his lips. "Thank you, darling."

Xia Wan glanced at the eyelash in her hand and playfully teased, "Siyuan, I just realized your eyelashes are so long! They might even be longer than mine."

Huo Siyuan immediately sensed a hint of dissatisfaction in Xia Wan's tone. Anxious and unwilling to see his beloved wife upset, he quickly comforted her, "If you don't like them, I can have someone trim them. Or, if you'd prefer, you can do it yourself."

Xia Wan was stunned, her face filled with shock. She thought to herself, *Does this man even understand what he's saying? He's talking about cutting his eyelashes...*

Seeing that Xia Wan wasn't responding, Huo Siyuan turned to a nearby maid who was also frozen in place and said, "Go get me a tool to trim my eyelashes."

The maid immediately replied respectfully, "Yes, sir!"

She then quickly turned to fetch the requested tool.

Just as she was about to leave, Xia Wan finally snapped out of her daze and shouted, "Wait!!"

She turned sharply to Huo Siyuan and scolded, "Siyuan, what are you talking about? No one cuts their eyelashes! Look how long and beautiful they are. You have to keep them!"

As she spoke, she gently brushed her own eyelashes, as if to show him how precious they were.

Huo Siyuan stared intently at Xia Wan, who was now scolding him, and felt a ripple of emotion in his heart.

He had never imagined that even when she was angry, Xia Wan could be so adorable, making him want to cherish her even more.

The maid, still standing stiffly nearby, had beads of sweat rolling down her forehead, clearly nervous and unsure of what to do.

She was torn. Should she follow the Second Master's order and fetch the tool, or obey Madam's command and not go?

In the past, the answer would have been obvious—listen to the Second Master. But now, with the Second Master so deeply in love with Madam, her words carried equal weight. The maid was caught in a dilemma, and time seemed to stand still.

However, in what felt like the blink of an eye, Huo Siyuan's expression softened once again, and he said in a voice so gentle it was almost a whisper, "I'll listen to you."

Hearing these words filled with obedience and love, Xia Wan's face lit up with a satisfied and happy smile. She nodded gently and let out a soft, melodious "Mm-hmm."

Then, Huo Siyuan gazed tenderly at the woman in his arms and asked softly, "Can I hold you now?" His tone carried a hint of caution.

Xia Wan, still in her sweet demeanor, responded without hesitation, "Mm-hmm!"

With her permission, Huo Siyuan's movements became even more gentle. He cradled Xia Wan like the most precious treasure in the world and slowly made his way downstairs.

As he walked, he called out to the butler, "Prepare the car!"

At this moment, nestled in Huo Siyuan's arms, Xia Wan was filled with curiosity. She blinked her big, lively eyes and asked coyly, "Where are we going?"

Huo Siyuan's lips curled into a doting smile as he replied softly, "Wanwan, I'll take you to the mall, okay? Let's go look at some clothes or accessories. How does that sound?"

Xia Wan thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "Alright!"

Seeing Xia Wan agree, Huo Siyuan's mood lifted even further. "Let's go then!"

At this moment, Huo Siyuan had never felt so clearly how wonderful it was to stroll through bustling streets with the person he loved, picking out things they liked together.

As he looked at the little wife he cherished so dearly, a sense of anticipation he had never felt before welled up in his heart.

Huo Siyuan held Xia Wan tightly as they stepped into a luxurious Bentley.

Once inside the car, he made no move to put Xia Wan down on the seat beside him. Instead, he continued to hold her, though his embrace shifted into a gentle princess carry.

Xia Wan curled up obediently in Huo Siyuan's warm, broad embrace and whispered softly, "Can I sit next to you?"

However, the response she received was a cold and firm "No!"

The resolute tone made it clear that there was no room for negotiation.

Huo Siyuan then turned to the driver, who was focused on the road, and said in a deep voice, "To Emperor's Glory Mall."

The driver replied respectfully, "Yes, Second Master."

Xia Wan had heard of **Emperor's Glory Mall** before. It was the largest and most renowned luxury shopping center in the capital.

Many wealthy families and tycoons frequented the mall, especially when preparing for grand banquets. The ladies of high society loved to shop there extravagantly.

In the past, Xia Wan had often heard the Xia family women mention this place. Whenever they had extra money, they would head straight to the mall to splurge.

But for Xia Wan, even though she lived in the Xia household, her daily necessities were just enough to get by. There was never any extra money for her to spend freely, and she didn't have a strong desire for such material indulgences anyway.
