Chapter 16: Chapter 16
The air inside the Black Nova Cantina felt heavy with unspoken tension. The smell of cheap alcohol and spice smoke filled the dimly lit booth, but Harry wasn't paying attention to any of it.
His mind was already calculating.
Palpatine knew.
That single fact changed everything.
Before, he had been a rogue Force-user, a fugitive from the Empire. A minor irritation.
Now?
Now, he was a piece on the Emperor's board.
A target.
And if Palpatine had taken interest—it meant something bigger was in play.
The ex-Inquisitor leaned back, arms crossed. "You're thinking too much."
Harry's eyes flicked to him. "You'd rather I act without a plan?"
A smirk. "No, I'd rather you accept that you're out of your depth."
Zara scoffed. "That's the first smart thing you've said."
Harry ignored them both.
"Tell me what you know."
The ex-Inquisitor tilted his head. "About what?"
"Palpatine. Vader. What they want from me."
The man chuckled. "That's simple."
He leaned forward, his gray eyes glinting with amusement.
"They want to break you."
[NEW QUEST: THE EMPEROR'S PLAN]
• Primary Goal: Uncover Palpatine's true intentions for Harry.
• Secondary Goal: Find allies willing to fight against the Sith.
• Bonus Objective: Stay ahead of Imperial forces hunting you.
The Inquisitor's Revelation
Harry's fingers curled into a fist. "Explain."
The ex-Inquisitor smiled.
"Palpatine doesn't destroy potential. He corrupts it. Shapes it into something useful."
His voice lowered. "You impressed Vader. That's rare. That's dangerous."
Zara's expression hardened. "So what, they want to recruit him?"
The ex-Inquisitor shrugged. "In a way. But not through words."
His gaze sharpened, voice turning dark.
"They'll take everything from you. Piece by piece. Until there's nothing left but a hollow thing that only knows how to obey."
A long silence.
Harry exhaled slowly.
He had always known Vader wasn't just hunting him for revenge.
But this?
This was something worse.
Zara muttered. "We need a plan."
Harry nodded. "We need allies."
The ex-Inquisitor smirked. "Now that… I can help with."
The Shadow Network
The ex-Inquisitor tapped a sequence into his holopad, sending a coded transmission.
"Ever heard of the Shadow Network?"
Harry frowned. "The information brokers?"
A grin. "More than that. A coalition of ex-Imperials, rogue Force-users, and underworld leaders who hate the Sith as much as you do."
He slid the holopad across the table. "They won't fight openly. But they have connections. Credits. Weapons."
Harry scanned the coordinates.
Zara groaned. "Oh, come on. Tell me that's not where I think it is."
Harry smirked. "Naraka Prime."
Zara slammed her head against the table. "You always pick the worst places."
The ex-Inquisitor chuckled. "Naraka Prime is dangerous, but it's outside the Empire's main control zones. The perfect place to disappear… if you know how to survive."
Harry stood. "Then we move now."
The ex-Inquisitor raised a brow. "You don't want to ask why I'm helping you?"
Harry glanced at him. "If you wanted to turn me in, you would've done it already."
The ex-Inquisitor smirked. "Fair enough."
Zara sighed, grabbing her blaster. "I swear, if this gets us killed—"
Harry grinned. "Then you can say 'I told you so.'"
And with that, they left.
[NEW OBJECTIVE: CONTACT THE SHADOW NETWORK]
• Location: Naraka Prime – Hidden Sanctuary.
• Threat Level: High – Imperial and Underworld presence.
• Mission: Find someone willing to fight against the Sith.
Meanwhile… Aboard the Executor
Vader stood in the darkened meditation chamber, his breathing slow and measured.
A hologram flickered before him—Palpatine's cloaked form.
"He moves toward the Shadow Network," Vader reported.
A deep chuckle. "As expected."
Palpatine's yellow eyes gleamed. "Let him gather his allies. Let him believe he has a chance."
A pause.
Then—a sinister smile.
"And when the time is right…"
The Emperor's voice dropped to a whisper.
"We will take everything from him."
Vader bowed his head.
The transmission flickered out.
Vader turned toward the viewport, gazing into the endless void.
The hunt was far from over.
It was only just beginning.
