Bailu giggled. "If Ah Guang wants, I can raise your affection rating right now~."

Pei Guang laughed. "Ah, that's why you're the best, Bailu. But I can't let you raise it for nothing..."

Pei Guang had already guessed who the enemy this time might be. With external threats dealt with, internal threats were bound to rise.

He scanned the crowd, noticing numerous Vidyadhara members casting their eyes toward their group. Pei Guang began strategizing.

In typical game fashion, these people would likely tail them, wait for the perfect ambush point, and then launch their attack. That would lead to a series of battles culminating in clearing the way for Dan Heng and Bailu to successfully seal the Ambrosial Arbor.

But this wasn't a mere game. This was a vivid, immersive world with boundless freedom. There was no way he would sit back and wait for the enemy to strike first!

If they were coming, he'd make the first move. It was better to go on the offensive, eliminate anyone who could hinder the mission, and deal with anyone harboring malicious intent toward their "precious little sister Bailu" or "big brother Dan Heng."

Bailu was a critical member of their team, and Dan Heng was an irreplaceable asset of the Astral Express!

Pei Guang started planning. If anyone intended an assassination, they'd definitely tail them, waiting for the perfect moment. But with so many people around—Vidyadhara people and ordinary citizens—it was hard to tell who was friend or foe.

After pondering for a while, he decided on a simple but effective plan: just detain everyone on the scene.

With that in mind, Pei Guang donned his Abundance Ebon Deer set. He wasn't a fan of the outfit, but the high-quality materials he had collected from Phantylia were temporarily unsuitable for crafting better gear. Without access to boss-level equipment, he had to make do with an elite monster set.

The moment Pei Guang equipped the Ebon Deer set, the nearby Cloud Knights immediately grew tense. Pei Guang, however, waved at them with a casual smile. "Don't worry, everyone. I'm Pei Guang, the Trailblazer. I've got a task to complete here, so I need you all to cooperate."

In truth, he hoped they wouldn't cooperate: if they resisted, he'd have an excuse to take down even more people!

Unfortunately for him, the Cloud Knights knew exactly who he was. Hearing his request, one of the knights stepped forward respectfully. "Benefactor, how can we assist you?"

Pei Guang scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm, just don't get in my way, and we'll be good."

The knight visibly relaxed. "Understood, no problem!"

As the Cloud Knights let their guard down, Dan Heng's expression grew more serious. In the past, it had been hard to gauge Pei Guang's mental state. But ever since he'd acquired those monster sets, his intent had become painfully obvious.

If he put on the gear, it meant only one thing: a fight was coming.

Now the question was—who was he planning to fight?

As Pei Guang pondered his next steps, he decided there was no point in trying to identify individuals one by one. Since this was a Vidyadhara matter, rounding up all the Vidyadhara people present was the simplest and most foolproof solution.

Scanning his surroundings, Pei Guang marked every Vidyadhara person within sight. Then he moved—fast.

In the blink of an eye, clad in his Ebon Deer armor, Pei Guang appeared beside a Vidyadhara guy who had been watching them intently. The man froze for a moment, clearly not expecting this sudden approach, but his instincts kicked in when he saw Pei Guang holding a small bottle of dark liquid. Alarmed, he tried to flee, but Pei Guang grinned and firmly grabbed his shoulder.

"Come on, little brother! Since you're already here, why not have a taste before you go?"

Under the watchful eyes of Dan Heng, Bailu, and the surrounding Cloud Knights, Pei Guang began grabbing people right on the street. Worry about appearances? That wasn't his concern, especially when someone dared to target their precious healer, Bailu. 

Besides, Pei Guang wasn't one to believe that anyone harboring malicious intentions toward his companions could be completely innocent—or unconnected to the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus.

To him, protecting his companions mattered far more than any bystander opinions or bureaucratic etiquette.

Pei Guang's movements were precise and practiced. He held the man firmly, pinched his jaw to open his mouth, and poured the bitter contents of the bottle into his throat. The man had no choice but to swallow. Moments later, a strange tranquility washed over him, his expression softening into the serene smile of a sleeping child.

Bailu watched in confusion but didn't question Pei Guang outright. Her trust in him was unshakable; if Pei Guang was doing something seemingly strange, there had to be a reason. Gathering her wits, she turned to the Cloud Knights nearby, her eyes gleaming with clever intent.

"Everyone! Don't be alarmed," Bailu announced loudly. "Ah Guang is helping! These people are showing symptoms of influence from the Abundance's power. The remedy in his hands is a medicine I personally developed. It not only expels the effects of the Abundance but also helps induce restful sleep. See? They're instinctively rejecting my medicine, which means they're affected!"

Her words caused a wave of understanding to ripple through the Cloud Knights. Pei Guang's earlier deeds—helping them fend off the Abundance's corruption and restoring their comrades—had already earned him widespread trust. Bailu's explanation only reinforced their confidence.

The Cloud Knights visibly relaxed. However, their ease was short-lived as they watched Pei Guang's next actions. After incapacitating his target, he leaned down and began searching the unconscious Vidyadhara's man pockets with a smile on his face.

The Cloud Knights exchanged uneasy glances. Rumors on the front lines had mentioned that the Trailblazers had a peculiar habit of rifling through unconscious individuals' belongings. According to the stories, they never took anything of personal value, but seeing it happen firsthand was still jarring.

Sensing the tension, Bailu quickly stepped in again. "Don't worry, everyone! Ah Guang has encountered the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus before. He knows how to identify them. While most people under the influence of the Abundance's power are ordinary victims, a small number of them are covert disciples. It's essential to verify their identities thoroughly!"

Her words seemed to settle the crowd further, but Pei Guang's actions continued to draw wary, if now slightly amused, stares. Pei Guang, however, was too focused on his task to notice or care. He had a job to do, and nothing was going to distract him.

Some people may not trust Pei Guang, but Bailu did. If Pei Guang acted, there had to be a reason behind it—her role was to support him. 

What? They're all Vidyadhara? That didn't matter. It wasn't unheard of for Vidyadhara to appear among the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. Maybe Pei Guang had noticed something the others missed?

A member of the Cloud Knights declared, "So that's how it is! As expected, the Trailblazer is just as the stories say: upright and unyielding, unconcerned with others' opinions. Everyone! This strangely dressed man is none other than Pei Guang, the Trailblazer who brought the antidote for Mara-struck people to Xianzhou. 

Please line up in an orderly manner and let him help you purge the Abundance's power from your bodies. Also, cooperate with him for identification purposes. Rest assured, the Trailblazer will not invade your privacy or take your personal property."

Bailu chimed in, "Exactly! I, Bailu, personally guarantee that Ah Guang's medicine is perfectly safe. Just line up, no need to worry. Oh! Cloud Knight brother, look over there—someone's trying to run! They must be guilty. Quick, help Ah Guang catch them!"

Originally, Pei Guang had planned to take the initiative and skip explanations—he wasn't in the mood to justify his actions. In fact, he welcomed the Cloud Knights getting involved because that meant he could justify "looting" more freely. However, thanks to Bailu's interference, not only did the Cloud Knights avoid questioning him, they actively started helping him capture people.

Now, anyone with suspicious intentions toward Bailu or Dan Heng was restrained. Trying to run? That would instantly brand you as a disciple of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. If you were innocent, all would be fine, but the issue was that some of the people really weren't clean. Some of them indeed had ties to the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, and they couldn't figure out how he had uncovered their secrets.

As for how Pei Guang actually knew? He didn't! His plan was simply to round up everyone in the vicinity, then move on and grab the next batch of people a little further along. These people were like walking loot bags! Even if they only dropped junk weapons with lousy effects, they could still be synthesized into something useful later.

After all, every little bit counts. Players might groan about garbage materials in games, but didn't they still diligently pick them up?
