The Genjutsu Devil of Konoha

Chapter 27: Training (27)

The second the second had arisen, he had woken up. He was already training with his new katana—he needed to get a feel for it.

Hm.

He decided to give up on the idea of going to that village for now. He would go when he was a shinobi or something. So, graduate in a year or two and hopefully get a mission to go someplace like that.

He was sure the Uzumaki had some very valuable seals that needed a good understanding of sealing to open.

So, he decided to do something else. He would instead just raid those villages for those scrolls. Was it stealing if the people currently holding onto it stole it in the first place? Heh, ask England for that answer.

Hm, he doesn't know how he knows about England—just that they fit this situation.

So his goals were: learn sealing jutsu above the level he was at, which currently included storage seals and explosion seals; learn how to decode them; go to the Uzumaki village during one of his missions.

Hopefully find something. Loot that something. Then during the war, loot the three villages that participated in the gangbang of the Uzumaki village for all Uzumaki-related stuff.

He had a long time before the test, so he better prepare. After school, his extracurricular activities were the sealing class and the medic class.

So yes, he didn't take the Concealment class, nor the Taijutsu or Ninjutsu extra class, which was a way for the school to teach civilian-background kids some basic jutsu.

In the generation he was from, the Genin of Konoha were quite strong on average since the school covered all the basics on how to be a ninja.

Though he guessed the second the war started, some stuff would have to get sacrificed so they could pump out as many cannon fodder as possible.

Hm, no need to worry about others. Only his own strength mattered.

First on his bucket list was physical conditioning.

He had his nanny buy him some weighted clothes. She didn't ask many questions—did tell him he was a growing child, and if he didn't want to be 4'11 as an adult, he better not overdo it.

He tied the weighted bands around his ankles and wrists, each of them weighing about 25 pounds.

And since he had four of them on, he was currently holding like 100 pounds of extra force. Not much, but good enough to hinder his small frame.

Then, he started chakra walking on the water of a small lake in the Kurama Clan compound. He then sprinted, while running on water and carrying an extra 100 pounds of weight.

Not a jog.

Not a run.

All around the area, he had traps set up, throwing wooden kunai at him, so while he was using Shunshin at full speed, he was trusting his instinct to help him dodge and avoid the obstacles. The weights were there to slow down his body.

He wanted to sharpen his reaction time like no other.

The kunai were only set to shoot when they were in his blind spot—i.e., where he placed them—so he had to really trust himself. Even a second of hesitation meant death/losing.

Yes, he was taking it that seriously.

Once he was done with that—which, mind you, took him roughly 6 hours—he dropped the weights to let himself stretch better. He didn't want to be 4'11 as an adult. Yes, Yui's words had gotten to him.

He now wanted to start upgrading his swordsmanship. He had one simple goal: the goal was not to deceive the opponent's vision... but to overwrite their expectations. With every strike, feint, and movement, you create a mental rhythm—and then you shatter it.

This stage demanded more than just Genjutsu.

It demanded performance.

He began with a kata—a simple one. Then layered Genjutsu with each swing. Not full illusions, just... nudges. Subtle shifts in how his opponent would expect his blade to move.

All in all, this style was very effective against people who could notice the slightest twitch of your muscle and guess what you would do. As in, Dojutsu users. So yes, it was very effective against the Sharingan. Some might even say it countered it.

Then came the tests.

He summoned Shadow Clones. Five of them. Each set to randomly attack him as unpredictably as possible. And they were told to break him.

By that, he meant not hold back at all. So essentially, he was getting jumped by 5 shadow clones which were each at the bare minimum Chunin level.

A swing from behind? Blocked.

A clone leapt from above? Seijuro stepped aside, and it hit a Genjutsu substitute.

One came at him with dual kunai? Parried. Slashed. Dispersed.

This was proving more fun than he thought.

After 4 more hours—that would be 10 hours of training—he still roughly had 2 hours before his bedtime. So, taking a shower, cleaning himself, he would eat the delicious food Yui cooked for him.

Going to his room, he would open his book and look at his elemental match-up.

Fire? Easy. Earth counters.

Lightning? He'd use Wind to break it apart.

Water? He'd harden the ground, letting mud and resistance soak the attack.

He practiced tiny E-rank jutsu over and over again—they were quite easy to master, especially the Shunshin, which he had integrated his own Genjutsu into. So now, fighting him was a risk. Even his breathing could be faked.

Every jutsu had to be activated without hand seals. He'd been developing seal-less execution, focusing on micro chakra control through muscle memory.
