Chapter 17: Falcon (sianwist) Sianvistan cybernetic Type 5!

"Hello, Misty. My name is Mann. I'm currently serving as Mr. Li Ang's head of security, responsible for his personal safety."

Just a few days ago, the members of Mann's squad learned that Lucy had joined LA Corporation and received an invitation from Li Ang. Without hesitation, they headed to Little Chinatown.

Initially, the members of Mann's squad, much like Lucy, were rebellious and difficult to manage.

However, after witnessing the array of advanced weaponry and equipment Li Ang showcased, along with the thermal monomolecular wire in Lucy's hand and the exceptionally generous benefits, they gave in to temptation.

Running odd jobs through intermediaries day after day, constantly on the move to make a living, and never knowing when they might be shot by corporate dogs or the anti-terror tactical squads—it wasn't exactly a desirable life.

Now, being able to work for a promising company and enjoy stable, government-like perks—who wouldn't want that?

"Y-You… hello. Please, come in."

Misty felt her neck start to strain from looking up, as Mann's towering build was intimidatingly massive, easily over two meters tall.

"Thanks." Li Ang smiled and led the group into the psychic shop, heading toward the back where the cyberware clinic was located.

"Lucy, your monomolecular wire is so cool! Does having such advanced cyberware put too much strain on your body?"

On the way, Rebecca, the squad's combat specialist, tugged at Lucy's sleeve, asking curiously.

Rebecca, with her aqua twin-tails, looked like a delicate, underage girl. But in reality, she was a true contrast—adorable on the outside yet a fierce warrior.

Despite her petite frame, Rebecca was the team's firepower specialist.

Before Lucy could respond, Li Ang, walking ahead, answered,

"It won't. Theoretically, as long as there's reliable medical maintenance, the chances of developing cyberpsychosis are minimal."

"At LA Corporation, you'll have access to the finest cyberware and top-notch medical care. You don't need to worry about that."

Li Ang wasn't bluffing. Cyberpsychosis was primarily caused by inadequate maintenance, insufficient medical care, and, to a lesser extent, psychological factors.

Among these, the former played the largest role.

Take, for instance, the legendary mercenary Adam Smasher, who had Arasaka backing him. He transformed himself into a being with less than 4% human tissue.

His avoidance of cyberpsychosis and total mental collapse, apart from his lack of humanity, was largely thanks to Arasaka's meticulous medical care and maintenance.

"Mr. Li Ang, you're really quite charming at this moment!" Rebecca snuggled up to Li Ang, affectionately clinging to his arm and pressing her cheek against it.

"Hey, hey, Rebecca! Let go of him! Don't disrespect the boss like that!"

Pilar, clutching a mysterious case in his arms, scolded nervously.

As the squad's tech specialist and an indispensable member of their logistics team, Pilar was also Rebecca's older brother.

"It's fine. I understand Rebecca's excitement. Today, I brought you all here to prove our company's true capabilities."

Li Ang even ruffled Rebecca's hair, much to Lucy's silent irritation. She rolled her eyes and pursed her lips in exasperation.

Then her gaze shifted to the case in Pilar's arms. With a hint of dissatisfaction, she said, "You'd better handle that carefully. Don't let it break."

"Relax, it's secure!" Pilar chuckled carelessly, clearly not realizing Lucy was venting her frustrations.

"No need to worry. The Falcon Sianvistan cybernetic Type 5 is incredibly durable. This thing is solid."

Li Ang's tone was calm.

The mysterious case contained none other than the [Military Tech—Falcon Sianvistan cybernetic Type 5], a legendary-grade operating system!

As for its origins, Li Ang had exchanged corporate credits for it through his system.

Having already unlocked the entire product line of Military Tech, this invaluable operating system was nothing to him.

As Li Ang spoke, the group arrived at Viktor's cyberware clinic. Viktor was watching a boxing match replay.

"Oh! Mr. Li Ang, what brings you to my little clinic today? Planning to install some cyberware on yourself?"

Viktor got up from his wheeled chair and smiled at Li Ang. "You've brought so many mercenaries. I don't have the capacity to perform that many surgeries at once."

"Old Vik, good to see you're well."

Li Ang smiled and replied,

"This time, I just need a quick implant for someone. Won't take much of your time. And of course, the one getting the implant isn't me. I'm not a fan of cold machinery."

"Let's cut the chatter. The sooner I'm done, the sooner I can go watch the match. It's almost closing time, and I'm not sticking around for dinner with you guys."

Viktor started gathering surgical tools and booted up his computer to prepare.

Mann, slightly tense, glanced around the dimly lit clinic. The walls were covered with wires and graffiti, neon tubes illuminated random spots, and various cyberlimbs hung from tracks on the ceiling.

To an outsider, it might seem like the private workshop of scavengers—the organ-harvesting scum of Night City whom everyone despised.

"No need to be nervous, Mann."

Li Ang, sensing Mann's unease, reassured him,

"Viktor is the best cyberware doctor in Little Chinatown. Strictly speaking, he's half doctor, half engineer."

"Whether it's a scalpel or a screwdriver, in his hands, they're life-saving tools. Trust me, Old Vik is as reliable as they come."

Hearing this, Mann nodded, reluctantly trusting Li Ang's words.

But as Viktor put on his magnifying goggles, he smirked mischievously and said,

"Mr. Li Ang, I'm no saint. My surgical fees are no lower than any other cyberware doctor."

"The last time you brought that pretty girl here for the thermal monomolecular wire, I made sure to charge you handsomely."

At this, the squad turned to look at Lucy, whose cheeks flushed under their knowing sMyers . Opting for peace of mind, she closed her eyes to ignore them.

"This time, the surgery is far more complex. If you can pull it off, I won't mind paying you another hefty fee."

Li Ang signaled to Pilar, who immediately opened the case and handed the Sianvistan cybernetic device to Viktor.

The moment Viktor took the device, his eyes widened in shock, even more so than when he first saw the monomolecular wire.

"My God! This… this is… military-grade Sianvistan cybernetic, but its quality is decades more advanced than any I've seen!"
