The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 220: Ice Armor and Backup Energy

In the end, Lynn created ten Eternal Fire versions of the Infernal Demon Puppets and five Fierce Fire versions. As for the Purgatory Demon Puppets made from ordinary magical flames, he decided not to continue making them.

While Lynn was crafting a new Purgatory Demon Golem, Irina recovered her magical energy and began trying to transform it into ice magic following the path of the Ice God.

Irina hummed obscure syllables softly, and the temperature around her dropped rapidly. The area within a radius of more than ten meters around her became as cold as an ice cave.

Strands of magical power flowed along specific pathways within Irina's body, and the obscure syllables interacted with the extreme cold outside, causing the magic to change. Under the influence of the cold, the originally colorless strands of magic began to glow with an ice-blue hue.

Soon, the magical power vanished from Irina's meridians, replaced by wisps of icy energy that radiated a chilling breath.

At this moment, the ice magic spread throughout Irina's body. Anyone who touched her would find her temperature colder than that of a corpse frozen for decades.

Although Irina has a strong affinity for ice and is not harmed by it, the cold that can freeze almost anything has made her skin become unnaturally hard.

At this point, the obscure syllables Irina chanted grew more intense, and the icy power throughout her body seemed to be guided by some special force, converging toward her lower abdomen.

Meanwhile, the magic originally stored in her lower abdomen expanded outward, forming a magic barrier that isolated a specific area.

Driven by this special force, the ice magic flowed into the isolated space and transformed into Irina's backup energy.

Now, while Lynn has the Forbidden Magic Fire and the magic crystals from the Demon God's authority as backup energy sources, Irina has her ice magic as her own source of reserve energy.

When the magical levels of two wizards are similar, their magical reserves become the key factor in a battle. The existence of backup energy increases the likelihood of victory for both Lynn and Irina in combat.

At this point, aside from the magic used to create the magic barrier, all of Irina's magic power had been converted into her ice power. Even though her ice magic was now fully replenished, her body continued to recover magical energy.

Although her magical energy had been completely depleted like before, Irina was not as weak as when she exhausted herself by extinguishing the Purgatory Demon Golem. This was due to the backup energy, allowing her to continuously draw from the ice power to restore herself without fully losing the ability to resist.

After completing the transformation of her magical energy into ice power, Irina eagerly began testing the techniques of ice magic she had learned from the books.

"Ice Armor!"

Irina let out a low cry, and a large amount of icy power spilled from her skin, quickly solidifying into thick ice armor around her body.

Each piece of ice in the armor was a foot thick, yet this heavy armor seemed weightless on Irina, and it didn't hinder her agile movements in the slightest.

Irina curiously examined the ice armor on her body. When she unintentionally named the move just now, she realized that by saying the name, even one she had invented, she could activate the ice power much faster.

This was a sensation she hadn't felt since fully mastering silent and wandless spellcasting.

After all, she had mastered silent and wandless casting of the Freezing Charm, and now the power from silent casting was as strong as the regular incantation.

Now, when Irina used the Ice Armor technique, simply uttering the name sped up the flow of ice power and increased the strength of the spell.

Could this ancient magic known as the Ice God have been created by some sort of overly dramatic mage?

Irina thought to herself, If I have to shout the names of all my spells during combat, it would be so embarrassing!

She had managed to avoid this awkward situation by mastering silent spellcasting.

"Lynn, come help me test my ice armor!"

After using the Ice Armor, Irina wanted to test its defensive properties. She looked at Lynn expectantly, who had already completed the Infernal Demon Puppets and placed them into the metal cubes.

Upon hearing her, Lynn nodded slightly and approached.

Irina said, "Lynn, why don't you test it using firearms, regular magic, dark magic, and alchemy spells?"

Lynn agreed and pulled out his Desert Eagle, shooting three rounds at Irina's chest, now protected by the ice armor.

There was no doubt that the bullets bounced off harmlessly, unable to even leave a scratch on the surface of the ice.

"Expelliarmus! Thunderstrike!"

Lynn waved his wand, casting a disarming charm followed by an explosive spell toward Irina.

The red light from the disarming charm bounced off the ice, veering off to the side, while the explosive spell detonated upon impact. However, the explosion and shockwave couldn't make Irina, protected by her ice armor, take a single step back.

Under the protection of the ice armor, Irina was practically invulnerable.

Even Irina's beautiful face was shielded by a translucent ice veil, which resisted both physical and magical attacks.

"Sectumsempra!"

Lynn tried a dark magic curse. He raised his hand, and an invisible blade cut through the air, aimed directly at Irina.

This invisible sword was indeed powerful, and it was the first spell to cause any effect on her.

A two-inch crack appeared on the surface of Irina's ice armor at the point of impact. The curse's power attempted to spread into the crack but was suppressed by the ice's formidable force.

After sensing the residual effect of the Sectumsempra, Irina gained a rough understanding of the ice armor's defensive capabilities. Once activated, only powerful elite Aurors might pose a threat to her.

As for ordinary Aurors, even if she stood still among hundreds of them, they would likely be unable to harm her.

Of course, this was a bit of an exaggeration. Just like Lynn's Purgatory Demon Puppet, if an opponent were to use a hundred times more magic to melt the ice armor, Irina would have no way to stop it.
