The Goddess Made A Mistake Again

Chapter 447 - Orion's Only Remain

At the darkness of the night, when nobody should have been awake…

One figure was quietly walking by the tents. His steps light and his eyes looking around cautiously as he moved ahead, making sure nobody woke up.

He quietly found the edge of the battlefield, the point where all of it ended.

That person… was none other than Henry.

I sigh, "I have to admit, walking around quietly like a thief takes much more work than I thought… especially with my big body."

"I swear, every single twig and rock was working against me."

I check once more and seeing no one was awake, I look ahead.

What mattered was that they were asleep and I was close to my objective.

I jump up and soar high. The quiet night's air roaming through me, bringing me both relief and realization of how solitude I was. Before I could start falling down, I use my ring and a steady jet of flames bursts under my bare sole, keeping me afloat.

"Now where is that baby?" I murmur while checking through the large dark space for something.

Even through the item was quite small and it was very dark, with my eyes, I found it in just a few seconds as my mouth tugs up.

"Found ya!"

Slowly, I control the flames to lower me while keeping the sound to the bare minimum. Coming close to the ground, the flames bursts one last time before vanishing as I step down in a kneeling position.

I rise my head up slowly with a hardened look, "Silent plus Cool landing achieved!"

"AWOooo!" A long howl of a wolf sounds as I almost collapse my form.

"Shit! Thought that I got caught or something, damn mutt!" I murmur before shaking my head, "I have to stop doing this crazy cool shit at the middle of the night, Anna would probably warn me but if someone else saw me…"

I shake my head of the thought and step ahead before grabbing the item.

It was a golden ring with a sizable pink crystal embedded on it. It was Orion's Sigmat Ring. The one with the crazy meaty amplification power.

This was the reason why I didn't go full on with Orion… I mean I did, but not completely.

There was still the Black Hole. Which could have finished him instantly but it would have also gobbled up the ring. And it was a very powerful ring with great abilities.

My teeth gleam at the middle of the night as a hoarse voice gets out, "Precious"

The Next Morning…

It was beyond 8'O clock as I stood at the edge of the destruction once more. This time, looking down and seeing multiple people working over the rubble.

They were looking for any important items or anything left that could be identified for a soldier that had perished. Which is why I carefully took a stroll at the dark night.

If I had left it behind for later, some soldier would have found it and reported it and the ring would have certainly left my clutch.

From the search party, a person came out and walked up to me. It was Jacob, he had a large white bag on his back with the its head opened.

"Found anything?" I ask him.

"No, there's nothing there except for scraps of some cloth and broken armor." He replied, "You seriously expect me to find anything in that big pile o-"

As heads turned to him, Jacob quickly changed his tone, "-In that big pile of soldiers that gladly sacrificed themselves for the good of all!"

The eyes that judged him slowly turned around as Jacob sighed in relief.

"One day, your mouths going to land you in a big trouble… and it wouldn't be wet." I say to his confusion.

Before Jacob could ask, Marva came behind me and touched my shoulder, "Any findings?"

I shake slightly, "Nothing. There's no remains of Orion, but we can definitely be sure that he is dead."

"I trust you. Hey! I was there with you. I saw what happened inside, but proof of death needs to be found for the papers."

For a moment, my mind reverts to the ring in my back pocket before it quickly vanished.

"Well, I'll check for a few more hours before closing the case." My words bring a nod to Marva as she went back.

I turn to Jacob who already groaned, "You heard her, dig further and try to find anything related to that meat guy. Anything would work, a finger, an eye, his balls."

Jacob slowly turned around with a heavy load on his shoulders, "I'll try to bring one of the sacks."

I smile at him, 'I knew there was something Jacob would be useful for.'

Sometime later…

I was about to walk inside Seman's tent when I heard Velma call me, "Henry"

I turn around to find the hot looking cold woman staring at me. In these two days, I had worked closely with her and the Valkyries regarding the army so we had gotten close enough to call each other's first names.

"Velma, to what do I own your appearance?" I smile with a very quiet hint of a groan.

Velma was a disciplinary person and didn't bullshit around like Marva nor was anywhere naïve as Keina. Her being here meant one thing… Work.

"I want to talk to you about something."

I open the tent's entry cover, gesturing her in, "Come in then."

We go inside and Velma's eyes fall on Seman.

"How is he doing?"

"Well, doc says he's doing fine and taking the mandatory sleep. I believe he is deliberately prolonging his beauty sleep to avoid doing any work." I don't wait for her to digest my joke, "Sit down, Commander."

Velma sat down and asked what I thought she would, "What's the count of the supplies?"

"After thoroughly counting it again, Marva and I am sure that the supplies could take us all through a week." The supplies job was Marva's, but…

"Good" Velma nodded, "Marva can't be trusted regarding an official work or any…"

I understand her concerns, the woman tried to kill me and then had sex when she was supposed to examine me.

Velma said something that interested me, "Now I understand why her majesty is keen on you."

I raise a brow, cautious, "Pardon me?"

Did she perhaps hear something at the wrong time?

The place is sufficiently hidden enough to dispose of her, right? The latest chapters are uploaded first on M|V|LE3MPYR.

"You didn't know?" She tilted her head, "The Queen specially ordered Marva to protect you in this occasion."

I jerk my head back in understanding. Much better than what I presumed.

"Oh? She did that?" I remain ignorant.

Velma nodded slowly, "Yes, it was a bit bizarre of her."

"Bizarre?"

Velma looked at me and seeing the innocent look, spoke, "You may not know her directly, but her majesty… is a bit unique in some ways."

I smile awkwardly, 'You can't begin to fathom how unique…'

I keep my mouth shut, listening to her, "At first, I thought the order might have been some sort of test for Marva or even me… but after seeing how you fought and ended Oricon, I realized."

I lean closer, waiting to hear what she realized.

"The Queen was preparing a future asset, a key fighter for the kingdom." Velma said, "Just like us Valkyries are made to bring peace and purpose to the kingdom, she is preparing something for you too."

"Oh… isn't that conveni-"

"Which is why I must ask!" Velma said, her body becoming straighter.

"Fight me Henry!"
