Chapter 449: Final rounds (1).
Sword saint wasted no time hesitating as he rushed at the Tier 3 mutated zombie, even though the Red Onis supporting him were all Tier 2 golem as him.
He knew that they didn't possess the same powers as him and none of them would stand a chance against the mutant Tier 3 zombie.
Therefore, he decided to take care of it first while they dealt with the lesser flies, also known as the "Tier 2 zombies", the red Onis dashed in with their spiky clubs in hand, despite the Tier 2 zombies not being as slow as the Tier 1 zombies.
However, their speed didn't offer much assistance against the formidable Onis, as They were skilled combatants, with one of them sidestepping the zombie attacking him and swiftly striking its knee with his club.
The impact broke the zombie's leg, causing it to lose balance and the Oni seized the opportunity to smash its head with his spiky club, bursting the zombie's brain and drenching himself in its blood.
The Oni found pleasure in violence just like there master, and it was clear that they were truly powerful, making the zombies no match for them.

Meanwhile, the zombie that Saint was facing posed a different challenge altogether, it had not only eliminated its speed weakness but also displayed an awakened intelligence.
As it didn't merely attack violently or rely on instincts; it fought strategically, knowing when to evade and when to counterattack, Saint toyed with it for a while before realizing that there was nothing worrisome about it.
When the zombie closed in on him, Sword saint created an opening, making the mutated Tier 3 zombie believe that it had a chance at winning the fight.
So it lunged for Saint's neck, and with swift precision, Saint turned his sword downward, withdrawing a smaller blade concealed within the hilt of his main sword—a uniquely designed weapon.
As he swiftly pulled out the smaller sword and thrust it straight into the gaping maw of the mutant zombie, fortunately for the mutated Tier 3 Zombie , it had anticipated Saint's attack move and managed to retreat at the last second, narrowly avoiding a fatal blow to the brain, as the blade poked out of its nose.
In retaliation, the zombie swung its leg with such force that Saint was sent flying, skidding across the ground until he managed to arrest his momentum using his swords.
With the main hilt now detached, Saint gripped both sides of the sword, and the great sword was broken down once again—this time into two scimitars.
As the zombie charged toward him anew, Saint who had learned from his previous encounter to avoid a direct contest of strength, as he had recognised the zombie's superior power.
Instead, he maneuvered around the zombie, showcasing his full mastery of swordsmanship, with each step, he delivered precise slashes, his hands moving so rapidly that the zombie struggled to keep pace. Frustrated, the zombie kicked up sand to obscure Saint's vision and launched a strike, but Saint was ready.
Hooking one of the scimitars around the mutant zombie attacking hand, he twisted the blade and swung the other, cleanly severing the zombie's hand.
The mutant zombie's face remained expressionless, showing no pain, as it swung its other claw, releasing an energy claw attack.
Saint kicked the mutated zombie backward, using the momentum to lay on his back and avoid the incoming claw of light, he then acrobatically sprang to his feet, spinning his body and wielding the blades with such agility due to the weapon's lightweight, that he even generated considerable momentum.
This allowed him to strike the mutated zombie in various places, as it failed to defend against the rapid onslaught.
When he ceased spinning, Saint thrust both scimitars into the zombie's head, delivering a fatal blow that ended up killing it.
As he turned away, his hands glowed with a grey light, and the small sword that the zombie had removed from its mouth, along with the remnants of his blade, were enveloped in the same grey light, as they flew back to him, reassembling into the great sword once more, before he dashed towards Oni, who seemed to have captured the wraith.
The wraith was emitting an ear-splitting scream, ensnared by the soul-infused scythe.
"Hold on to him a little longer," Saint's voice reached Oni's ears as he grappled with the soul chains, attempting to drag the wraith closer in a tug-of-war. As Saint approached, he leaped forward with his sword now radiating a stronger glow than ever, and pierced the wraith's smoky form.
For the first time, the wraith's eyes showed a look of shock as its body began to emit white light and then exploded.
The resulting shockwave sent Saint flying, and Oni's weapon returned to him.
With the wraith finally vanquished, Oni turned to look at Saint, only to see him closing his eyes as a cocoon made of light began to envelop him.
"And another one is on the brink of a breakthrough; it seems I can't even take a breath without risking of being surpassed," Oni remarked as he commanded his summons to join the fray against the undead army.
He led the charge, his scythe blade enveloped in black energy, and as he swung it toward the horde of zombies, a large slash of dark energy cut through the masses as his five Onishigami summons followed closely behind, plunging into the undead ranks without hesitation.

Alec and the Dullahan faced each other, each sizing up the other's combat prowess like two experts assessing their opponent.
Alec was convinced that the Dullahan was like a final boss the Lich had positioned to protect himself, for while every other undead had been sent to battle, the infamous Dullahan stood still, simply standing guard.
Alec was certain it must be infuriated, so he aimed to provoke the Dullahan into losing its composure.
"Human, you have come this far, i must admit, at first, I underestimated you, but look at you now, forcing me to deploy every special undead at my command, and It's almost as if for every move I make, you have the perfect counter to thwart my plans," the Lich's hoarse voice said as Alec ignored the Dullahan and focused on the Lich.
"Well, sorry to say this, but this isn't a game to me. I'm doing my utmost to have you killed so I can return in peace, knowing I've eliminated a significant threat to the Sweden city!" Alec retorted.
"Let's see you try!" the Lich responded, giving a nod to the Dullahan.
In response, the Dullahan kicked the side of its horse, prompting the steed to gallop toward Alec. Poised and ready, Alec took a stance with his Changdao raised above his head, prepared to strike.
