The Golem Mage

Chapter 658: Alec Moves.

One of the peak Tier 5 ice elemental beasts that had appeared was an Arctic bear, roaring from a distance as it came with its minions.

With its thunderous roar, the Arctic bears beneath it began dashing forward, compelling Alec to finally make a move since most of his golems were still occupied.

After a few hand signs, Alec cast the spell, sweeping his right hand forward to summon a massive wave of sand toward the charging white-furred bears, which seemed intent on breaking through the defensive line established by his golems.

There were five of the bears, all at the Tier 5 realm, three at mid-level and the other two at low-level.

As Alec sent forth a raging sand tsunami at its minions, the peak Tier 5 arctic bear at the back snorted, wearing a smug expression that infuriated Alec.

He watched as the ice bear inhaled deeply before exhaling a frigid breath toward the swirling sands that were crushing the demonic beasts in their path.

Upon clashing, the icy breath managed to freeze a portion of the sand, prompting Alec to snort in response while glaring at the distant arctic bear.

"What was I expecting? No matter how clever a demonic beast may appear, it remains just a beast without proper training. You might be physically stronger than me, but you will never defeat me; because overall, I'm superior," Alec declared, his determination growing stronger.

"Now, let me show you one of the reasons why I'm superior and why you could never defeat me, as you should never have tried to defeat an elemental control while you merely borrowing the element powers to cast spells," Alec shouted, pushing his right hand forward in a claw-like shape.

The raging sand, which had been partially suppressed by the ice breath, transformed into a colossal hand made of sand, mirroring Alec's movements as he attempted to clamp it shut.

The peak Tier 5 arctic bear was quickly running out of breath from continuously releasing icy breath attacks and the sand didn't seem to freeze completely.

Not only had it failed to freeze the sand hand completely, but it also faced the humiliating prospect of losing to a human an outcome that infuriated it.

This frustration was compounded by the fact that its colleagues were watching, while only a few peak Tier 5 beasts had arrived, they still weren't part of the main army attacking as they were hiding in the shadows.

After the beacon of icy light had flashed into the sky, the nearby Tier 5 ice elemental demonic beasts, each with control over their own territories, had gathered their powers for a unified effort.

The alliance was formed because one of them had previously faced Alec golems and was lucky to escape so it was able recognized Titan's aura, warning the rest.

This shared experience was the only reason they were working together, their temporary alliance aimed to eliminate the golems guarding Titan, after which they could compete for the coveted Titan's core.

However, upon arrival, they realized there were already waves of demonic beasts present.

The only reassurance for them was the absence of another element Tier 5 Overlord demonic beasts from the nearby region who could challenge them for the ice core that Titan was forming.

They speculated about two reasons for this lack of such presence; first, they believed other Tier 5 beasts found it tedious to fight for another elemental core while they were still struggling to master their own powers or elemental affinity.

And secondly, they didn't want to confront the ice elemental Tier 5 beast they were certain would emerge, as that would place them at a significant disadvantage in a battle over an ice core against such a formidable opponent.

The elemental nature of the core itself put them at a disadvantage in such battles; and that is why only Tier 4 demonic beasts of other elements were present, they were the ones reckless enough to attempt to prove themselves, hoping that amidst the chaos, they might absorb the ice core.

They believed achieving this would grant them dual elemental powers, potentially elevating them into the Tier 5 realm faster than expected, which explained their frantic rush forward despite the increasing death toll.

It was because they held on to hope.

Crack!

Finally, the arctic bear could no longer keep pace with Alec. As Alec closed his hand into a tight fist, the massive hand made of sand mirrored his action, effectively nullifying the peak Tier 5 arctic bear's attack causing it to stagger backwards.

This small demonstration showcased the impressive extent of his sand control.

Determined to show the arctic bear just why he shouldn't be underestimated, Alec moved his hand down, letting the sand suspended in the air lose all shape and form as it crashed to the ground.

He ensured that the large pool of sand landed precisely where the bear's underlings were waiting for their chance.

The result was catastrophic; as many unfortunate demonic beasts were buried beneath the immense mass of sand simply by being in proximity to the wrong group.

The peak Tier 5 ice bear snorted, confident that this attack wouldn't kill its subordinates. It anticipated their emergence from the sand pool, convinced that the only danger the sand posed was the difficulty in breathing.

While the bear did not doubt that its underlings could survive such circumstances, Alec's voice suddenly rang out like devilish music, causing the already complacent bear to frown at the sight of Alec casting another spell to follow up the sand tsunami.

[> Mid Tier Spell – Sand Coffin <]

Alec announced as he extended both of his hands outward, attempting to bring them together.

However, he struggled against the force of his own mana, which enveloped his hands.

The sand that had just crashed down on the beasts below began to shift as if being compressed, following Alec's movements.

As blood started to seep from the huge sand river, draining most of the demonic beasts caught in Alec's spell, a strain appeared on his forehead as he exerted himself to maintain control over the magic.

But he didn't care as long as he could squash those bears' underlings to death.

As for those caught up in his spell, it was simply their bad luck that Alec was the one killing them and in such a gruesome manner.

The thought of showing them mercy never crossed his mind; he had long since eradicated such notions from his consciousness due to his experiences.
