The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 242: Consort of the Queen of the Underworld, Die!

Several days later, Netherworld, on the edge of Tartarus Hell.

Rustling sounds emerged from the dim Arima Dungeon, and the three-headed watchdog of Hell immediately rose from the ground, its three heads growling at the dark dungeon entrance.

"Shush, be silent, it's me!"

However, upon hearing that familiar voice, Cerberus immediately softened his fierce expression and joyfully dashed to the entrance of the cave, wagging his tongue excitedly at the sneak who was emerging.

"Good boy! Here, your reward, eat it."

Having successfully infiltrated his destination, Luo En reached into the Magic Circle Diagram and pulled out the honey cakes and ambrosia wine he had prepared in advance, tossing them to the eagerly watching Cerberus.

The sweet aroma was overwhelming, and the three-headed dog, completely corrupted by the delicacies of the Mortal World, leaped high, skillfully catching the falling honey cakes and settling down to feast, completely forgetting his duty to guard the Netherworld.

Luo En, while massaging the middle head of Cerberus, quietly inquired about information related to the Netherworld.

The three-headed dog of Hell, while enjoying the feeding and petting from "one of his kind," answered Luo En's various questions with simple growls.

Soon, thanks to this inside informant, Luo En had a rough understanding of the current situation in the Netherworld.

Due to the overly conspicuous Sisyphus being caught and the God of Death Thanatos also found, the order of life and death between the Mortal World and the Netherworld had returned to normal.

However, once the God of Death began his duty, besides his usual tasks of arresting and escorting souls, he had an additional task.

— Supervising Sisyphus pushing the rock.

The job originally belonged to Hypnos, the God of Sleep, but recently, some disturbances in Dreamland forced him to lead the three Dream Gods and three thousand members of the Tribe of Dream Spirits back to defend Dreamland;

And the souls that had escaped from the Elysian Fields had mostly been captured again, now with the order there managed by Hecate, the Goddess of the Underworld.

The Elysian Fields were running normally, still overseen by the three great Judges of the Underworld;

But for some reason, the atmosphere in Tartarus Hell had recently become more tense, not only were the God of Death Thanatos and the Furies stationed there, even Hades, the God of the Underworld, had personally taken action.

With so much mobilization in the Netherworld, Luo En somewhat guessed the reason.

— Most likely, those old fellows in Tartarus were up to no good again…

— If he remembered correctly, during their previous retreat from Arima Dungeon, they had encountered Demon Ancestor Typhon showing signs of revival, which was probably the beginning of the unrest.

You should know, within Tartarus Hell where that Demon Ancestor resided, there was a whole bunch of Titans and Divine Monsters who did not adhere to the order of Olympus, and there were even three of the Twelve Titans…

If everything inside got out, it would certainly give the Pantheon of Gods at Olympus a headache.

Now, even Hades, who was typically a homebody, had left his lair, indicating those old lords from the depths of Tartarus Hell were causing significant disturbances.

However, having the powerful Hecate guard the Elysian Fields…

Wasn't that place just a bunch of puppet-like souls? Was it that significant?

Luo En suddenly thought of Typhon's noticeably reviving head and the subsequent unrest in Tartarus, seemingly occurring right after his disruption in the Elysian Fields, his eyes slightly narrowing in contemplation.

It seemed that the Elysian Fields were not as straightforward as they appeared on the surface prior to his infiltration; there might be some connection between it and Tartarus.

The souls nurtured in that Blissful Paradise were likely not just there to serve as ornamental landscapes…

But due to lack of sufficient information, Luo En thought for a while, found no leads, and decided to drop the matter for the moment, taking out a scale of Mother of Serpents Echidna and gesturing for Cerberus to come over with instructions.

"Pooch, lead the way, take me to the Queen of the Underworld's garden, and try not to encounter any patrolling teams during the process."

"Woof Woof!"

The well-fed three-headed hellhound immediately gave a loud reply, then with cheerful steps, started running along the Styx River towards the distance.

Luo En then concealed his form and activated the Authority of the "Goat," silently following behind Cerberus.

Since the Netherworld's main military force and most of the deities concentrated in Tartarus and the Elysian Fields to handle the recent unrest, security in other areas was relatively lax.

Following the lead of Cerberus, the inside traitor, Luo En managed to bypass various defenses and outpost stations of the Netherworld without any major scares, swiftly reaching the lush garden he remembered.

"That's enough, this is far enough; you go back now."

Luo En petted Cerberus on the head and tied a bag full of honey cakes and ambrosia wine around his neck before watching the reluctant three-headed dog disappear into the dense mist of the Netherworld.

Although it was a return to a familiar place, last time upon departure he remembered leaving Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, quite a bit of trouble.

Currently, the situation remained unknown; there was no need to let Cerberus take risks.

After briefly restoring the Divine Power he had expended and ensuring his condition was fully replenished, Luo En then cautiously moved through the lush garden towards the inner courtyard he remembered.

Along the way, although there were signs of decay and damage in the surrounding vegetation, overall it remained verdant and vibrant with life.

It seemed that even though he had set them loose, the Queen of the Underworld had not suffered any obvious punishment.

Luo En gradually relaxed, passing through a thicket to reach the pavilion where he first met Persephone in his memory.

The familiar feelings washed over him as he gazed around.

The murmuring streams twisted back, the colorful fallen flowers scattered with the wind, the green of life caught his eye, and the fragrance of flowers filled the air, making one's heart soar with delight.

And among the lush greenery, there she was, the queen he remembered, tiptoeing to press down a golden bough.

"Lady Persephone..."

Hearing the call from behind, the graceful figure in the woods paused slightly, then quickly recovered, turned around to face the newcomer, and coughed lightly before speaking faintly.

"Cough, speak, what business do you have with me?"

Luo En was startled at first, then a humble smile bloomed on his face as he bowed respectfully.

"It concerns the Titan Gods in Tartarus, something has come up and I was sent to verify with you in person..."

Speaking, Luo En, self-proclaimed as the messenger, moved forward.

"What? Let's hear it..."

The Queen of the Underworld in the woods seemed interested too, her eyes flashed, she released the golden bough, and curiously stepped forward.

However, at the moment their paths crossed, both faces changed instantly and they threw punches without warning.

"Bang!"

Accompanied by a dull booming sound, wild winds rose in the woods, and branches scattered.

The "Messenger" and "Queen of the Underworld" looked at their clashing fists, and their faces turned dark simultaneously.

Could they both really have thought of the same thing?

Shortly, Luo En recovered and took the initiative.

"Who are you? Impersonating the 'Queen of the Underworld' and trying to steal the garden's golden bough!"

Indeed, when they had first met, the reaction of the 'Queen' had made Luo En suspicious.

He had already dispelled his disguise, revealing his true face. How could Persephone, upon seeing him return, remain so calm and act as if she did not recognize him?

So, he tested a little and confirmed that this person before him was definitely not the real Queen.

At that moment, hearing the accusation from the opposite side, the 'Queen' scoffed disdainfully.

"Hmph, spare me, you're not clean yourself! That woman Persephone just went to Tartarus to handle a crisis underground, and you don't even know this much, yet you dare to fool me?"

Saying this, the 'Queen' furrowed her brows, seeming to think of something, sizing up Luo En from head to toe, her eyes slowly filled with a sinister gleam.

"Wait, looking at you, and you coming here alone prancing around in the woods, could you be her lover from outside?!"

"Lover my foot!"

Luo En grimaced, feeling utterly frustrated.

Usually, he was the one smearing others, but how had he gotten doused as soon as he stepped in?

"Alright, alright, the more intense your reaction, the more correct my answer!"

The 'Queen' in the woods unhesitatingly concluded, her raised arm sweeping a black arc through the air, like a sword formed of death itself. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire

"Die, you adulterer!"

With two damning accusations thrown his way, Luo En's forehead vein throbbed, and his eyes turned sinister as he instantly harnessed his authority, grabbed the besieging pale arm, and with a fierce grin, swung it mercilessly toward the ground.

He, after all, had nine divine incarnations. He might not strut around the Netherworld, but he would need an opponent at least of the level of the Twin Gods to suppress him convincingly. Did they really think any random cat or dog could handle him?

"Boom!"

Instantly, a muffled explosion sounded and smoke billowed through the woods.

To Luo En's astonishment, the once voluptuous and tall 'Queen' in the pit turned into a swirl of black mist, shrinking to a rebellious-looking girl about 1.6 meters tall with a yellow hairband and a slender figure.

"How dare you hit me? Don't you know even Hades has never laid a hand on me! You're dead meat!"

Badly hurt, the girl in the pit stifled the tears spinning in her eyes, and through gritted teeth, she hissed threateningly, a wild surge of life and death divine powers swirling within her.

Gradually, her skin turned half-black and half-white; her body transformed into black mist, freeing herself from Luo En's grasp, and then appeared in strange shapes and forms amidst the dense shadows, sometimes clear, sometimes vague, and sometimes flickering in the darkness.

Seeing the scene before him, and sensing the familiar dual energies from the girl, Luo En didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

He finally understood who she was.

— Melinoe, the Goddess of Conspiracy from the Dionysian Sect (Esoteric Teachings) legends of the Netherworld, the daughter of Hades, God of the Underworld, and Persephone, Queen of the Underworld.

And somehow, his... sister?
