Chapter 272: Don't Come Over Here!!! (6k)_3
After all, the so-called officiant of the wedding should look for her father Nereus, not her brother-in-law Poseidon.
Even though Poseidon is the Sea King, theoretically governing all deities of the sea, his jurisdiction has little to do with her marriage.
However, none of that matters.
As long as they can successfully muddy the waters and get the brothers above to start fighting, their own safety will be greatly improved.
If it had been before, Thetis might have hesitated over whether such actions were unethical.
But after the pursuit from Peleus and her unanswered pleas, she had completely awoken to reality.
Better to abandon allies than perish oneself; better look after oneself first.
"Head south, 800 kilometers, there is a new Sea God Temple built by survivors of Atlantis in that sea area,"
"Understood!"
Luo En immediately nodded in understanding and pushed the speed of [Goat] to the extreme, leading the three Hundred-Handed Giants behind him as they rushed towards the latest stronghold of Poseidon's family.
And the three Hundred-Handed Giants, who had been relentlessly pursuing them, seemed to have received a mysterious signal, quietly slowing down, following at a leisurely pace, and occasionally throwing a few rocks to symbolically create a sense of crisis.
The howling wind whipped up the seawater, the spray forming into a vast sea fog through which Thetis glimpsed the glittering sea area not far away, casting a resentful glance at the man holding her in his arms.
An officiant? If only it were true.
However, Luo En, who was fully focused on fleeing, obviously didn't notice Thetis's subtle change in expression.
As the destination was now within sight, he dived headlong into that glittering sea area, his body weaving through the blockade of the Atlantean Guard like a nimble fish and heading straight for the newly built Sea God Temple.
The Sea King's family, hiding in the stronghold and refusing to go out, saw the couple rushing towards them, followed by three towering giants, and the familiar scene conjured up nightmarish memories for them.
The once glorious Kingdom of Atlantis fell just like that.
Atlantean survivors and sea deities all had a knee-jerk reaction; their complexions turned pale, their gazes filled with terror.
Among them, Poseidon's reaction was the most obvious, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at the two shameless guides, his mournful accusation tinged with hard-to-suppress sobs.
"Damn it, don't come over here!"
Luo En turned a deaf ear, a warm smile spreading across his face as he held Thetis and smashed through the dome of the Sea God Temple, landing inside the grand hall and greeting the aggrieved Poseidon warmly.
"We meet again, Your Majesty."
Poseidon snapped back to reality upon seeing that beaming smile, his eyes reddening instantly.
"You've come to harm me again!"
In the face of the Trident that Poseidon produced to confront him head-on, Luo En smiled and spoke calmly.
"The little schemes you and Apollo have been cooking up seem to have come to light."
"...!"
At those words, Poseidon's face underwent a drastic change.
Having succeeded in calming down the opposing Sea King, Luo En continued.
"How about we cooperate? You handle the three Hundred-Handed Giants behind us, and I'll help you get what you want—regain control over the Sea of Okeanos, or perhaps, go even further?"
At this, Poseidon found the suggestion ludicrous, replying with disdainful laughter.
"You, on your own?"
"Don't believe me? How about this, I swear on my own spirit? If I can't do it, my spirit will belong to you."
"What use do I have for your spirit?"
Poseidon wore an expression of constipation, glancing back at the three Hundred-Handed Giants drawing ever closer to the Sea God Temple off the coast.
"Have you ever heard of the [Heart of Zagreus]?" Luo En smiled faintly, a twelve-sided die appearing in his hand as he spoke quietly, "This token should interest you, right?"
Instantly, the Sea King's breathing grew rapid, his eyes welling with intense bloodlust.
[The Heart of Zagreus], the original heir to the Divine King, was rumored to have the potential to vie for the supreme rule of Olympus.
If it fell into his own hands, even if he had lost half of his paternity, he might still stand a chance to take that position.
At this thought, Poseidon's face showed a sinister intent.
"Friendly reminder, Athena sent me to help, so don't be rash," Luo En replied with a mix of truth and deception, his smile reassuring.
It was true that Athena sent him to help, but it was Thetis he was helping, and his conspiracy with Poseidon had little to do with it.
Poseidon took it for truth, and his boiling blood cooled once more. After carefully weighing the pros and cons, he made up his mind with determination.
Let's do it!
Seeing as trouble had come knocking at his door, it wouldn't hurt to confront the three watchdogs outside for a while.
If the timing wasn't right, he could just find a way to bluff his way out afterward.
Although currently there was significant risk in a conflict with the three Hundred-Handed Giants, the returns from making this move were undoubtedly multiple times greater.
For one thing, it meant he could form an alliance with Athena, greatly increasing the success rate of that conspiracy.
On the other hand, even if the rebellion failed, the [Heart of Zagreus], the treasure that could lead to claiming the throne of the Divine King, would be his!
As long as he could withstand the punishment and absorb the Divinity contained within, he could advance further, eventually having another chance to vie for Olympus's supreme power.
With benefits exceeding losses in any calculation, it was certainly worth the gamble!
Seeing Poseidon's final determined expression, Luo En reached out with a smile, offering his left hand.
"Have you thought it over? Then shall we make a soul contract?"
"Yes!"
