In imperceptible ways, Persephone's view of Hades had gradually shifted.

As for this, Luo En was not surprised in the least.

After all, if one were to be fair, Hades might not be a qualified lover but certainly was a qualified husband.

Over the years, he had always treated Persephone well, even to the point of doting on her excessively.

The only blemish was when Hades pursued Persephone, using some dishonorable tactics back then.

But in Greece, such forceful pursuits were commonplace, hardly considered unforgivable crimes, and could easily be whitewashed.

Besides, in the entire event, it was Zeus, the King of Olympus, who was the mastermind from behind the scenes.

Back then, Persephone had just suffered the pain of losing her child and, in an attempt to soothe her spirit, went flower-picking in the Enna region with the nymphs. With Zeus's tacit approval, Gaea allowed the earth to produce a daffodil. While picking the flowers, Persephone unwittingly strayed from her friends and was about to pluck the seemingly harmless daffodil when the ground split open. Four black horses pulling the chariot of Hades, the Underworld King, appeared, and he forcibly took Persephone aboard the chariot, whisking her away to the Netherworld.

Hades had long been in love with her and had executed this plan with the silent consent and assistance of Zeus.

It was also for this reason that the Underworld King was willing to remain in the sunless Netherworld, staunchly upholding Zeus's rule and not encroaching upon the authority of Olympus.

To have her son killed in unclear circumstances, to be played with and then cast aside to be used as a tool by outsiders.

Even if Persephone harbored anger and resentment, under the guidance of a certain senior PUA master, she would direct her grievances at the true instigator of her misfortunes.

Furthermore, with Luo En occasionally bringing up examples of Hera and the Queen of the Sea, by comparison, Hades's honest and faithful character stood out as particularly valuable among his brethren.

But this stepfather truly was a top-notch stoic, and even with Luo En's almost smoking efforts at assistance, Hades maintained an attitude of silent contribution, showing no signs of disclosing to his wife the incident of his investigation in the Elysian Fields and releasing his daughter.

Only today, Luo En finally had the chance to formally present his stepfather's merits during this family banquet.

And the effect was quite apparent. Not only did Persephone not give Hades the cold shoulder throughout, but she also unprecedentedly served him food and picked dishes for him, causing the Underworld King, enveloped in intense feelings of joy, to almost think he was dreaming.

Seeing the relationship between the two thaw completely, Luo En, who played the matchmaker, finally breathed a sigh of relief and began to speak of Melinoe's recent circumstances at the dinner table.

In truth, the life of the sly Goddess of Conspiracy on War God Mountain was quite comfortable.

On one hand, without the control of Hecate, as well as the nagging from Hades and Persephone, she could freely revel in the vibrant world of humans, which was incredibly liberating.

On the other hand, due to her kindred spirits, she made friends with Stheno, Euryale, and Circe, the nasty enchantress. The four of them would go out every day to tease the passersby or sneak into the Academy of Athens to cause trouble, earning themselves the nickname "The Four Pests of Athens."

Though after being exposed, they would inevitably be caught by Hestia and Athena and receive a thorough beating, they seemed to enjoy this kind of amusing life without tire.

With the excellent food on War God Mountain fattening her up, the content Melinoe gained a few extra pounds.

Of course, considering the feelings of Hades and Persephone, as well as Melinoe's own behind, some things needed a bit of sugar-coating.

For instance, Melinoe deeply missed them and often talked about her parents in the Netherworld, hoping that one day she could reunite with them soon.

On hearing this, Hades and Persephone felt both gratified and melancholic.

As parents, they wished nothing more than to keep their daughter close and have a joyful life together as a family of three.

But with the presence of the Goddess Mingyue, for their daughter's safety, they could only keep these yearnings to themselves.

"Actually, to reunite the family isn't impossible," said Luo En as he circled back to the subject, setting the mood with his eyes gleaming, the ultimate intention unveiled.

"If we can drive Hecate out of the Netherworld, then no one else will be able to disturb the peaceful lives of you, mother, and sister."

"Drive her out? How could that be possible?"

Hades was somewhat incredulous. He was well aware of the cunning and strength of the Goddess of the Netherworld and naturally doubted this whimsical plan.

"How do you know if you don't try?" Luo En spoke earnestly, then opened his outer garment, revealing the increasingly active Wheel of Hecate on his chest, and said with sincerity, "This is not only about whether Melinoe can be reunited with you and mother, but also about whether I can free myself from this shackle. So, I will do everything in my power!"

Driving Hecate out of the Netherworld would effectively sever her roots, making it much easier to confront her than it would be here.

Hades understood Luo En's intentions and, after a moment of contemplation, spoke slowly.

"Tell me, what do we need to do?"

Luo En took a deep breath and answered in a solemn tone.

"I want to take another trip to the Elysian Fields to confirm some guesses. If successful, the plan should have an eighty percent chance of working."

Hades nodded slightly upon hearing this.

"Alright, tomorrow I will send Hecate away under the pretense of a banquet."

"I will go too," the Queen of the Underworld quietly said as she gripped her husband's somewhat coarse hand tightly under the table, her gentle gaze turning toward her stepson across, her heart filled with peace.
