Chapter 10: Chapter 10
After a while—
With the arrival of Uchiha Sasuke, the last of Konoha's legendary "Konoha Nine" finally made their entrance.
Standing proudly beside him was his older brother, Uchiha Itachi.
Both brothers looked composed, radiant, and unnervingly mysterious, like they had walked straight out of a painting—but with hidden blades tucked beneath their smiles.
The moment they showed up, the crowd buzzed with chatter.
"Tsk tsk tsk… I didn't think we'd be in the same class as Uchiha Itachi's little brother," Inuzuka Kiba muttered, rubbing his chin. "If the big brother's that strong, the younger one must be scary too."
"Huh? Who's Itachi Uchiha? Is he supposed to be a big deal?" Choji asked mid-bite, crunching down on a mouthful of chips.
"He's legit," Shikamaru replied lazily from the side. "Started school at six, graduated at seven, joined ANBU at eleven. Uchiha clan's basically a factory for geniuses."
"Geniuses, huh?" A loud voice cut in.
Golden-haired Uzumaki Naruto stepped forward with a grin. "That just means I've got to beat him someday!"
He said it like it was obvious.
To him, geniuses weren't something to admire. They were targets.
Kiba wrinkled his nose and gave Naruto a push. "Hey… who even are you? Do us a favor and stand somewhere else. Idiocy might be contagious."
Watching their chaotic interaction, Yoruha couldn't help but smile.
This—
This finally felt like the Naruto world he remembered.
Loud, messy, vibrant. Full of dreams and rivalries.
"There's still six years before Orochimaru makes his move," Yoruha thought to himself. "If I just focus on surviving and growing stronger for now, I should be able to handle it when the time comes."
But right then—
Ding!
The system chimed in his mind with a new notification.
"Host, please sign in at the first row of the student queue during the entrance ceremony!"
Yoruha froze.
His feelings were mixed.
In the past, the system only gave him sign-in quests once every couple of months.
But lately?
It had gone into overdrive—this was his third mission in a single month!
And this time, the target location was… the front row of the entrance ceremony lineup.
Which meant...
Yoruha had to pass the exam and rank as the top-performing boy.
Because in Konoha, tradition dictated the entrance lineup: one column for boys, another for girls, arranged by test performance.
First place among boys stood front and center.
He glanced over at Sasuke, who stood silently with sharp, confident eyes.
Yoruha sighed internally.
"So much for keeping a low profile…"
Up until now, he'd been purposely holding back—trying not to draw Danzo's attention. But if he wanted to complete this mission…
He'd have to shine.
That said—
If he put himself in Danzo's shoes, would the man really go out of his way just to target someone like Yoruha?
So far, Danzo didn't suspect him of anything. All he did was kill a couple of infiltrators. He hadn't gathered any intel, hadn't stirred up trouble, hadn't even brushed against Danzo's actual plans.
Would Danzo risk angering the Yamanaka Clan just for a hunch?
Probably not.
Still…
Caution was smart.
But right now, courage was necessary.
Not long after, the exam officially began.
The Ninja Academy Entrance Exam was divided into three sections.
The first part tested chakra aptitude—specifically, the candidate's speed and success in refining chakra.
The format was simple.
An instructor would first walk all the kids through the basic chakra extraction technique—one that had been watered down and simplified for public use.
Naturally, the method was nowhere near as refined or efficient as what Shanfeng had personally taught Yoruha.
But that was understandable.
Not everyone had a high-ranking jonin relative willing to give one-on-one training.
Especially kids from civilian families.
