Chapter 20: Chapter 20

The first day of school life came to an end.It was… a bit dull.

After class, Yoruha didn't go home with Ino.

The afternoon sun was still hanging in the sky. There were at least a couple of hours to go before dinner.

So—Yoruha figured he'd take this time to find a quiet spot and test out his newly acquired Flat Slash Mastery.

Konoha Weapon Shop.

The store clerk leaned forward slightly, her voice sweet and her smile even sweeter."Hey, little guy—looking for a set of ninja toys? If you see anything you like, big sis can help you pick one out!"

Yoruha's gaze swept across her chest and quietly shifted away.

Nice car.Shame the driver doesn't have a license yet.

After leaving the shop, Yoruha carried the ninja sword he had just purchased and headed to a nearby open training field.

Time to get to work.

Flat Slash Mastery. As the name implied, this technique refined and elevated the most basic move in all of swordsmanship:The horizontal slash.

It was simple, yes. But also fundamental.

A true master of the flat slash could, one day, stand toe-to-toe with the likes of an Uchiha piloting a Susanoo……and still split him in two with a single swing.

Clang.

Yoruha drew his blade.

The moment his hand gripped the hilt, a strange familiarity surged from his muscle memory—as if he had spent over a decade training in the way of the sword.

His movements were fluid. Natural. One with the weapon.

"Ha!"

Yoruha stepped toward a wooden training post about his own height and began slashing in a continuous rhythm.

He may have been only seven years old—But every strike left behind a deep, powerful groove.

Definitely not the kind of strength one would expect from a child.

Swish!

Just as Yoruha was getting into his rhythm…He suddenly froze.

He felt it—A strange presence behind him.

He didn't know why, but every hair on his body stood on edge.

Swish!

His body turned reflexively, blade slashing behind him in a sharp arc.

Whoosh!

The strike was fast—But the intruder was faster.

Yoruha only caught a flicker of a shadow before the figure vanished from sight.

Fast!

Both of them thought it at the same time.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—!

Yoruha's first strike missed, but he didn't hesitate. His hands blurred as he released a spread of throwing weapons—calculating the most likely points where someone might land if they had used the Body Flicker Technique.

Clang!

The hidden figure responded with impressive agility, parrying the shuriken mid-air with a kunai.

And then—

"...Yoruha-kun. You're pretty sharp."

A voice rang out.

Yoruha narrowed his eyes. He could finally see who it was.

"...Itachi?"

His brows furrowed as he took a step back.

Uchiha Itachi.

A name that carried weight far beyond his years.

You could never truly grasp the depth of Itachi's strength. Just when you thought you'd figured him out—He'd do something that shattered your expectations.

And Yoruha knew for certain…He wasn't strong enough to face Itachi. Not yet.

So… why was he here?

Did I piss off Sasuke too much?Is his big brother here to get revenge?

Itachi silently sheathed his kunai. His expression was calm, voice equally so.

"No wonder you could beat Sasuke. Those sword techniques of yours… far beyond what he can handle."

Yoruha said nothing.

He didn't lower his blade.

In fact, with his left hand hidden behind his back, he was already gripping a miniature throwing star—just in case.

He didn't believe for a second that Itachi had come here just to praise him.

Itachi glanced at him and—perhaps sensing the tension—let out a soft sigh.

Then, for the first time, he forced a faint smile.

"Sorry. I was just curious about your swordsmanship. I wanted to test it for myself. Please—don't get the wrong idea."
