Chapter 4: The First Step on the Path to Power

The weight of the gazes on Han Feng still persisted. Even after the initial surprise, many still did not believe what they had seen. To them, the Dual Chaos Larva was a useless, unstable, and uncontrollable Gu.

But Han Feng knew the truth.

He tamed her.

Now, away from curious eyes, he walked back to his small cabin in the most isolated part of the village. The place was humble, but for an orphan like him, it was more than enough. As soon as he entered, he sat cross-legged and held the larva in the palm of his hand.

The First Contact

Closing his eyes, Han Feng plunged his consciousness into the Celestial Diagram. As soon as he did this, he felt a unique connection form between him and the Gu. The larva pulsed gently, and within it, two energies danced—one white and serene, the other dark and chaotic.

Normally, this clash of forces made its use impossible. But, with the power of the Celestial Diagram, Han Feng could manipulate these energies freely.

But before he could delve even deeper into this discovery, a sound brought him back to reality.

The First Conflict

Han Feng opened his eyes and frowned. Heavy footsteps approached his cabin, accompanied by mocking voices. He recognized the arrogant tones even before seeing the faces.

Wang Tao.

Among the young people in the village, Wang Tao was one of the most talented. His talent in cultivation was remarkable, and his first Gu was a Fiery Shell Beetle, a rare insect that provided him with an almost impenetrable defense. As the son of one of the village elders, he always considered himself superior to the others.

The door was pushed open roughly, and Wang Tao entered without asking for permission, followed by two of his followers. He had a mocking smile on his face and his arms crossed.

— So it's true. The useless orphan really captured a Gu — he said, looking at Han Feng with disdain.

The other two laughed.

— What a joke. Soon this loser thinks he can be a true Master Gu!

Han Feng remained seated, calm. It wasn't worth responding to empty provocations.

— What do you want? — he asked directly.

Wang Tao narrowed his eyes and took a step forward.

— Simple. You captured a troublesome Gu, right? And I'm a good guy. I don't want you to get hurt trying to control him. So, I'll be generous and take it for myself.

Han Feng suppressed a laugh.

What a pathetic excuse.

He knew the truth. Wang Tao wasn't there out of concern. He was scared.

After all, Han Feng has always been considered a failure. But, suddenly, he achieved something unprecedented—controlling a Gu that everyone deemed useless. That was enough to shake the confidence of someone like Wang Tao.

"I'm not interested in your 'generosity,'" replied Han Feng, closing his hand over the Dual Chaos Larva.

Wang Tao's eyes sparkled with irritation.

— It seems like you need a lesson.

He raised his hand, and a red aura shone around him. The Fiery Armored Beetle emerged from his arm and landed on the ground. Its shell shone like molten iron, exuding a faint wave of heat.

Han Feng narrowed his eyes. Wang Tao wanted to settle this with a Gu fight.

The First Battle

Even without real combat experience, Han Feng did not hesitate. He could feel the pulsating energy of his Gu, and the Celestial Diagram provided a sharp intuition.

The beetle charged first, its body glowing with a faint layer of flames. It was a simple charge, but Han Feng knew he couldn't underestimate the impact force of a Gu like this.

He reacted instinctively, channeling his energy into the Dual Chaos Larva. The small insect shone in response, releasing a thread of unstable energy. As soon as the beetle touched that energy, its fiery glow flickered, as if something were disturbing its internal flow.

Wang Tao's eyes widened.

Han Feng didn't waste any time. He used the brief moment of hesitation to counterattack. The flow of energy from the larva intensified, hitting the beetle directly. This time, the fluctuation in its energy became even stronger, and its flames began to dissipate.

It was the natural ability of the Dual Chaos Larva!

She could disrupt the flow of energy of the enemies, making their abilities unstable and weakening their capacities!

Before Wang Tao could react, his beetle was thrown back, its flames almost extinguished.

The silence took over the cabin.
