The last Asura

Chapter 4: Chapter 4- Beat down from last Asura

Chapter 4

Eternal darkness—that was what Shunya saw as he entered inside that cursed snake-like figure. It was an eerie and terrifying place where faceless, phantasmal-like hands started to grab onto him.

They appeared in front of him. Some grabbed his hands, some grabbed his legs, and some held onto his torso.

Those hands started to drag Shunya into the Abyss as he struggled to get free from them, but—

"Ahhh!"

He screamed, for when those hands touched him, they began to burn him.

But more than pain, he felt an unknown fury. Instead of fear, he felt unrelenting rage toward this place—as if it were his mortal enemy.

A feeling of hostility was rising from his very being.

With every burn that afflicted him, images started to appear in his mind.

Men glowing with the same high-intensity mana, creating a mystical appearance, were fighting against giant glowing figures.

Some were human-like, some beast-like. There were even dark shadow-like figures too, fighting against these mystical, one-horned and three-eyed men.

Hiss

Another searing, soul-wrenching pain followed as he saw men and women with one horn and three eyes like him being abused—and the women being violated.

This kept happening in a loop as Shunya fought and struggled against the hold of these phantom-like hands dragging him into the Abyss.

"KuKuKu," an eerie laughter rang all around in the darkness as a horrifying dark specter started to manifest in front of Shunya.

As Shunya struggled to get away from the abyssal hands, he watched a figure appear—a snake-shaped face with no features, a torso like a human male with elongated hands holding a synth-like weapon, and a lower body like a snake. It floated in front of Shunya.

"A puny monster thinks he can destroy me?? The oldest curse in existence—the Divine Abyss Curse," said the creepy dark manifestation.

"Who are you?" asked Shunya, rage building up slowly and steadily as the images still hadn't faded, though he ignored them in favor of the thing that appeared before him.

"Know your place! You will be punished, Majin!!" roared the figure, offended by hearing Shunya's voice.

"Know your place and get eaten by my Abyss like the prey that you are!"

Shunya didn't reply as he started to sink into the invisible abyss, which rippled as he was dragged into it.

At some point, Shunya stopped struggling and glared at the figure. Even though it had no features, one could guess that the figure was gleeful as it devoured the last Asura.

"Kukuku," laughed the Abyss Curse.

"What warrior monster race? A monster is a monster. Kukuku. See—the last of that arrogant race is going extinct," it sneered as it watched Shunya buried into the Abyss.

"Ack!"

Its mocking laughter abruptly stopped as unknown pain ran through its being.

It was confused by the pain, but before it could think further, as if time had slowed, a punch coated in mystic white mana landed on its snake-like face.

The fist didn't touch its face directly, but the dense mana being discharged distorted and elongated the shape of its face.

Crack

It was as if reality itself was about to shatter like glass as a crack appeared on the curse's face, and like the end of a slow-motion shot, the curse launched like a bullet from the impact of that punch.

Outside, within the mindscape, the giant Abyssal Curse snake—which had almost devoured Shunya's temporary mana core—jolted back in pain and started to thrash around in agony.

"Eeee!" ghost-like screams rang out all over Shunya's mindscape as the main body of the curse writhed in pain.

It was as if the pain came from within its very existence.

Back inside his body, the manifestation stopped its momentum. Ignoring the soul-numbing pain, it saw nothing again before it could analyze what was happening—

Baam

Again, it happened in slow motion. Shunya was coated and enveloped in pure white mana. His long black hair turned into glowing silver, as if an entire figment of glittering galaxies had poured into it.

Mana, like a mystical fluid, was rising, while some discharged like burning sticks.

Certain wisps of lightning were also being discharged.

It was a strange phenomenon.

Crack

But this time, before that manifestation could fly further, Shunya grabbed its tail.

Due to the sudden momentum caused by Shunya, all of its insides started to pour out from its mouth and head like a fountain.

Shunya made an arc as he pulled it, and before he—

Rather than throwing it downward…

Boom

Another fist to its gut, and the impact traveled through its body, making a giant, mountain-sized hole in the darkness.

On the outside, the Abyssal Curse snake left Shunya's main mana core and started flying around, thrashing and screeching in pain as a very dark, acid-like liquid began pouring out of its body as it melted.

Back inside, Shunya hooked that manifestation on his fist as he pushed it with him, and they hit the "invisible" wall.

Again, That manifestation didn't get the chance to do anything else before Shunya started raining down punches and kicks at the speed of millions of miles per second on it.

They were almost ten times faster than the speed of light.

As Shunya kept beating that manifestation, the main body started to melt and disintegrate.

Near Shunya, space started to twist and turn by his willpower as he rained down raging punches and kicks, erasing this scum into oblivion.

The Abyssal Curse—the very first curse that came into existence. The curse that symbolized reality itself.

Not even gods could break this curse—only contain it.

The curse that had brought down one of the strongest races in history, erasing them even from the memories of gods.

A curse that drove the Asuras into extinction never expected the last of that fabled race to beat it out of existence.

Because this curse, in its hubris, had been forgotten in legend.

The Asuras had lost the war—

But they never lost any battles.
