The Legend of Berland

Chapter 3: Chapter 2 Blue Demon Girl

When the lioness's eyes swept through the mountains and forests, several pairs of eyes were also staring at every move in the camp behind a dense bush halfway up the mountain a few miles away from the orc camp.

"Lion women are really rare!" A strong man hit the clover in his mouth hard on the ground.

The man squatting behind the bushes was wearing a worn-out gray cloak and a worn-out half-body leather armor covered with scars. His short blonde hair, a beard, and a long scar from the corner of his mouth to the bottom of his eyes made him look fierce.

Keynes, the commander of the "Blue Demon Girl Mercenary Corps", is a mysterious man. Five years ago, he and his mercenary corps seemed to appear out of thin air in the border area of the Kingdom of Isaac, and in just five years, he grew from the lowest G-level mercenary regiment to a B-level mercenary regiment, which was said to be a miracle within the Mercenary Union of the mainland of Berland.

The improvement of the level of the mercenary regiment depends entirely on the points of the mission, and the more it goes, the more difficult it is. During the non-war period, it takes decades or even hundreds of accumulation for a newly formed mercenary regiment to be promoted to the ranks of senior mercenary regiments above level C or above. At present, the mercenary regiments above B-level in human countries are almost all old-fashioned mercenary regiments with a history of more than decades, except for the Blue Demon Girl.

"Boss, did we send it this time?" A small man lying on the ground beside Keynes lowered his voice and asked.

"It's time for our 'Blue Demon Girl' to be lucky. I didn't expect that this kind of C-level mission could happen to bump into an orc tribe. If we eat them, we won't have to worry about eating and drinking for a year. Cairns also looked excited.

"Are you two crazy? Below is a small orc tribe, and we have only come more than 30 people this time. Once found, these orcs swallowed us almost. A cold voice poured a basin of cold water on Keynes.

The speaker was a woman in a black hooded robe behind the man. A silver six-pointed star at the neckline of the robe showed her identity as an intermediate magician.

Magicians are a rare profession on the mainland of Berland. They are the target of various kingdoms and large forces, and female magicians above the intermediate level are even rarer.

The female magician is in her thirties, with long linen-colored hair, blue eyes, a tall nose bridge and a soft face. Perhaps because of many years in the wild, the skin looks a little rough.

Keynes turned around and grinned at the female magician, "Don't worry, Edleine, our brothers of the Blue Demon Girl are all elite mercenaries, and they are the best at hunting orcs, even if they are twice as many orcs, they can swallow them."

"I don't agree. It's too risky." Adeline's tone is still resolute.

"I'm the regiment leader. You just need to obey the order. At that time, I'll give you a share of the thot."

"I am also the deputy leader of the mercenary regiment, and I am also responsible for the safety of my brothers. You are doing a rough job!"

"You, the deputy leader, were also appointed by me. If it hadn't been for the B-level mercenary regiment that there must be a magician above the intermediate level in the team, I wouldn't have paid such a big price to invite you?" Cairns looked indifferent.

"If you insist on doing it, I will quit the group now!" Adeline didn't compromise at all.

"Don't be so impulsive? Listen to my explanation." Keynes took the lead in compromising.

He used all means to invite Adeline to join the mercenary regiment, and the combat effectiveness of the intermediate magician team was directly improved. Naturally, he was reluctant to let Adeline leave.

"You don't know much about orcs when you deal with them. Orcs generally form tribes by ethnic groups. For example, orcs of other ethnic groups will never be mixed in a werewolf tribe. And there is only one possibility of the mixed living of orcs in the camp below, that is, the tribe of senior orc nobles. Only the nobles can recruit orc warriors from other tribes to work for themselves. Keynes pointed to the orc camp below and explained patiently.

"Have you seen those young beasts and female orcs in the camp? This shows that they are an orc aristocratic tribe that has fled or been crippled, and they happened to appear here for special reasons. The number of real orc warriors in the camp is very small, and their real combat power is not even half of that of ordinary orc tribes.

Adeline's admiring eyes were unnatural. She had long found that the rough-looking man in front of her was actually very thoughtful. For example, now, he can speculate the origin and combat power of the orc camp below from a long-distance observation alone.

Seeing Adeline's wavering expression, Keynes continued, "Orc martial arts, rare materials, blade armor, golden herbs, an orc noble camp has more wealth than you can imagine! You know that the mercenary corps is in great need of money now, and I owe you half of the money I promised you? We mercenaries are a risky profession. If we don't dare to work hard, how can we feed women and children?

Adeline nodded and finally stopped objecting.

"Boss, you should also change your equipment after finishing this ticket, right? Our blue demon girl is also a dignified B-level mercenary regiment. Because of the boss's equipment, other mercenaries always laugh at us for coming from the countryside. The little man muttered in a low voice.

Keynes hit the little man's head heavily, "Tony, you don't know anything! My leather armor is an excellent enchanted leather armor. No matter how many attacks you attack, you can't break the defense. This cloak is made of dragon skin, you ignorant guys!"

"Dragon skin? Blow it, how many years have you not seen the shadow of dragons on the mainland?" Tony curled his lips in dissatisfaction.

The bush suddenly made a slight noise.

The two men immediately stopped fighting. One of Keynes's hands was placed on the hilt of the sword behind him. A fireball was instantly formed in Adeline's palm, and Tony rolled to the side and disappeared into the bushes.

A thin man in a hunting outfit appeared in shape. The man's eyes were bright and sharp, and his upper lip had two neat beards.

Keynes withdrew his hand on the hilt of the sword, "Angus, what's the situation below?"

Angus said slowly, "The number of orc warriors is no more than fifty, most of whom are first- or second-level low-level orcs, including the lioness and her two guards. I found five intermediate orc warriors, but I didn't find the existence of higher-level orc warriors."

Keynes waved his fist excitedly, "It's just as I guessed!"

Angus hesitated for a moment, "The only trouble is that there is a team of wolf cavalry in the camp. I'm afraid we will be smelled by their wolves as soon as we get close to the camp."

Keynes smiled gently, "Tony, it's your turn. I know you have a solution."

"I went to the forest to find some wild chrysanthemums. The smoke produced by burning with the tricolored mandala can smoke all those animals." Tony's voice disappeared directly into the bushes.

"Good! Let the brothers gather and we will do it when it gets dark. Keynes' eyes flashed with a strong murderous intent.
