Chapter 5: Chapter 4 Young Arthur
The fire in the orc camp has been extinguished, and an orc's corpse is lying down on the ground.
The mercenaries were cleaning the battlefield, and even the leather armor on the orc was peeled off. The corpses were piled up and ready to be burned. When they encountered the dead ones, they made up for a sword.
No one feels cruel. The war between humans and orcs has continued for nearly 10,000 years, and the hatred integrated into the blood makes killing taken for granted.
"Angus, how are the brothers?"
"Fortunately, one of us was seriously injured and four of us were slightly injured, but it's a pity that the female leopard ran away." The hunter, who was wrapping gauze around his arm, replied without raising his head.
"Forget it. It's a blessing that I didn't lose my brother." Thinking of the crazy attack on Keynes before her death, she is still a little afraid.
"That female leopard is really powerful. If you catch her and put it on the bed, it's just his mother's excitement!" Tony, who was nowhere to be seen in the whole battle, came out of nowhere.
"Tony, just because of you? The women in the Nightingale Bar may want to have sex with the female orc. Be careful that she will pinch your little guy.
Angus's laugh at Tony caused the mercenaries cleaning the battlefield to burst into a rude laughter.
Tony didn't care about it at all, with an undisguised smile on his face, "Son, we have gained a lot."
Tony said and waved his hand, and several mercenaries escorted more than a dozen young orcs stringed into a string of ropes. Some little beasts gritted their teeth and tried to resist. The mercenary's whip down made these little orcs lie on the ground and howl.
Keynes's eyes immediately lit up, "Be gentle. These little guys are worth it. Killing one will lose at least dozens of gold coins."
Many human nobles like to raise orcs to show their wealth and power. Many noblewomen even make toys on the bed in private. As for the reason, in addition to hunting, it is naturally because the orc thing is more majestic than that of human men.
Adult orc warriors are stubborn and irritable, and refuse to give in even if they are captured, while young orcs are easier to train and tame. Therefore, many nobles like to buy young orc slaves and cultivate them from an early age. As soon as they appear in the market, they become a must-have for countless nobles and rich people to buy them. The price in the slave market is second only to that of elf women, and the rarer the race, the higher the value.
"Boss, do you think this is worth a thousand gold coins!" Tony pulled over Leon, who was in the first row.
"Oh, what an accident. Didn't the lion cub run away?" Keynes squatted down and held Leon's chin with one finger.
Leon's eyes were blood red, and his eyes were full of hatred. It was the humans in front of him who killed their mothers.
The light golden light on Leon's hand suddenly broke out, breaking the rope tied to his hand, and a pair of sharp claws rushed to Keynes in front of him.
It's just that as soon as Leon's body moved, he was strangled by Keynes' big hand. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't move.
When Leon was almost strangled to death, Keynes knocked him to the ground, with a trace of solemnity on his face. "Tony, you should tie such a valuable little guy tightly."
"Commander, there is another one worth only one gold coin here. What do you think we should do?" A mercenary pulled out the thin Arthur in the team.
Compared with the popular young orcs, useless human young slaves are naturally worthless.
Keynes noticed the strange teenager who appeared in the orc camp during the day, and he was even more surprised that he could defeat the lion cub, who was almost a first-order warrior.
Keynes also picked up Arthur's chin, but the movement was much softer.
Arthur raised his head and showed a smiling face and a mouthful of snow-white teeth. Although his body was covered with dirt and his hair was messy, his face was very clean and his eyes were purer.
"What's your name and how old are you?"
"Commer, my name is Arthur, and I'm twelve years old."
Keynes was stunned, "How do you know that I'm the regimental leader?"
"Isn't that what those mercenary brothers call you?"
Keynes smiled, "You are very smart. Why are you in the orc camp?"
"Our village was attacked by orcs two years ago. My mother was killed by orcs, and I was taken to the orc camp to become a slave."
"You are lying!" Tony suddenly grabbed Arthur's collar and stared at him fiercely. "Orcs don't need human children as slaves. On the contrary, some orc nobles prefer to eat human children. Also, although you are thinner, you are not a slave. How can you explain your leather armor?"
"Tony, you will scare him like this." Edleine couldn't help stopping Tony. The boy's smile seemed to have a magic, making her believe everything the child said.
Arthur gave Adeline a grateful look, "Don't worry, beautiful and respectable lady, he won't scare me. I've seen more fierce orcs than this."
"The mouth is quite sweet." Tony knew that his strategy was unsuccessful and slowly let go of Arthur's collar.
"The reason why I live is that I am still valuable. The hostess hopes to find a human opponent for his son so that he can know more about his enemies." Arthur explained slowly. "Mistress? That lioness?" Keynes asked.
Arthur lowered his head gloomily, "Actually, the mistress is very good to me. If it weren't for her, I would have become the food of some orcs."
Leon, who was still lying on the ground, suddenly raised his head and looked at Arthur in surprise.
"Untie his rope. He is no longer a slave with us." Keynes said loudly.
"Thank you!" Arthur bowed to Keynes, Adeline, Tony and even the mercenaries who untied the rope one by one to thank him.
Keynes waved his hand with a big smile and continued to ask other mercenaries to clean up the battlefield quickly, not letting go of anything of some value.
"Are you going to transport these ragged armor and orc weapons back?" Adeline, who had been following Keynes, couldn't help complaining in a low voice.
"Ants are also meat. Throwing them to the weapons bank for recycling can always exchange some gold coins. You don't know how much firewood and rice are expensive. How many mouths are waiting for me to feed? And we have taken a blind eye this time. Except for these little orcs, there is nothing valuable in this noble camp. Adeline's complaint was exchanged for Keynes' endless whinings.
"What are you going to do with that child?" Adeline suddenly asked in a low voice.
"Bring it back to the city first. It's really an interesting little guy." Keynes' eyes swept to Arthur, who was helping to clean the battlefield. In a very short time, Arthur has integrated into the mercenaries and is helping them collect valuable things from the orcs.
Keynes may not have thought that it was his decision out of curiosity that changed the original trajectory of the history of the Berland continent...
