Chapter 5: Credits
Foundational Works and Creative Teams
This project is a transformative fan work inspired by and built upon the Star Wars universe, created by George Lucas. The character of Kam Solusar, a redeemed Dark Jedi turned Jedi Master, was developed by writer Tom Veitch, who brought depth to his arc of survival, fall, and redemption.

Personal Note of Gratitude
This story is a heartfelt tribute to the expansive Star Wars universe and the enduring figure of Kam Solusar, whose layered journey from a shattered survivor of Order 66 to a fallen Dark Jedi and ultimately a redeemed Jedi Master provided an indelible canvas for introspection and growth within my Titans of the Void series. Tom Veitch created Kam with a profound arc of survival through Order 66, fall to the dark side, and redemption by Luke Skywalker, deeply enriching the Star Wars universe we all cherish and strengthening its themes of resilience and hope. In the context of Titans of the Void, Kam emerges as the perfect addition to the reformed New Jedi Council on Ossus, his battle-hardened wisdom and lived experience making him an unyielding cornerstone for Rey Skywalker's progressive vision—one that embraces attachments, decentralized leadership, and healing as pathways to a more adaptable Order. Having endured the Empire's purge, the tortures of Sedriss QL on Vjun, and service in Palpatine's Dark Side Elite, only to reclaim his light through Luke's unwavering faith on Nespis VIII, Kam embodies the Council's ethos of redemption as a communal strength, not a solitary burden; his marriage to Tionne and role as father to Saria and Kalia model the balanced integration of family and duty, influencing Rey's reforms to allow courtship and personal bonds, fostering an Order resilient against the isolation that doomed previous eras.
Acknowledgment of Source Material
This novelette is deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of the Star Wars universe, drawing inspiration from Star Wars: Dark Empire II, written by Tom Veitch with art by Cam Kennedy, where Kam Solusar first appeared as a redeemed Dark Jedi aiding Luke Skywalker against Imperial forces. Veitch's narrative, published by Dark Horse Comics, established Kam's backstory of capture by Sedriss QL, torture on Vjun, and service in Palpatine's Dark Side Elite, which this story adapts and expands upon. The Jedi Academy Trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson, published by Del Rey Books, further developed Kam's role at the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4, his marriage to Tionne, and his mastery, including key events like forging his lightsaber and protecting younglings during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Additional canonical inspiration comes from broader Star Wars lore, including the Yuuzhan Vong War as depicted in the New Jedi Order series by various authors, and post-Empire events like the Battle of Exegol from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, directed by J.J. Abrams. The fall of Luke's Jedi temple, as referenced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and expanded in tie-in media, informs the galaxy's state in 43 ABY. Special thanks for the "Lightsider" novelette by Tom Veitch, unpublished during his lifetime and finally released in 2023, which provided foundational elements for Kam's redemption scene with Luke on Nespis VIII; some dialogue and events from it have been used verbatim here to honor its vision. Additional thanks to the Lucasfilm Story Group for their meticulous oversight, ensuring the cohesive framework that this fan work builds upon.
Workflow Overview and Letter to Readers
This work was conceived, architected, and brought to life through a process that merges my individual creative vision with advanced AI tools that functioned as an extension of my writing process, not as a substitute for human imagination or authorship. Every narrative turn, world-building detail, and character arc emerged first from my own imagination.
AI, in my workflow, occupies the role of a dynamic collaborator—akin to a team of research assistants, dialogue coaches, and concept artists—empowering me to realize the full scope of my vision without the resources of a large studio. I devised all core plot arcs, character motivations, and the interconnected lore of this saga myself. The AI tools were directed by me at every stage: outlining, exploratory scene generation, dialogue construction, iterative editing, and even visual development. At no point was the creative initiative surrendered—each AI-generated suggestion was interrogated, revised, and either integrated or discarded according to my intent, sensibility, and standards for emotional resonance, world-building fidelity, and literary quality.
To readers and skeptics: the heart of this story is, and always will be, fundamentally human. AI amplified my creative capacity, but every artistic choice, every scene, and every character voice bears the imprint of my authorship. This hybrid process represents not a diminution of the creative act, but a democratization and augmentation of it—one that allows a single author to craft a story on a scale and with a polish that once required an entire creative team. I invite you to evaluate this work by its vision, impact, and depth rather than by the novelty of the process by which it was written.
AI Tools Utilized and Their Contributions
Large Language Models and Writing Agents:
• Grok by xAI – utilized together to generate, review, and refine story content. Each served as a creative writing partner for scene frameworks, dialogue, narrative polish, and as a 'producer' when scenes required additional review or restructuring. All outputs were subject to review and editing by the author.
Image Generation and Visual Development:
• Sora by OpenAI – used to create art and visual content for this work. These tools were employed to render key visual elements: character portraits of Vicrul, Lysara, and Zeht, cinematic scenes of Fortress Vader and Nar Shaddaa, and environmental concept art for Zehara. Every visual asset was prompted, selected, and edited under the direct supervision of the author to maintain consistency with the established lore and mood.
Creative and Organizational Software:
• LorM designed and developed by Haskell Family Intel – used to manage the story's lore, track scene continuity, and organize narrative threads. This proprietary tool enabled deeper world-building, consistent characterization, and seamless narrative cohesion across the project.
Intellectual Authorship and Human Oversight
All AI-generated content—textual or visual—functioned as input for creative iteration and expansion, never as final product. The synthesis, emotional meaning, and ultimate quality control resided with the author alone. The resulting work, in its entirety, is a reflection of a singular creative vision, augmented but never replaced by algorithmic tools.
This publication mark identifies works created and released freely by the author and is not associated with or endorsed by the copyright holders of Star Wars or their parent companies.
