The Lost Werewolf King's Mate

Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Keyon's POV

"Where the hell did you come from?" Agatha scolded me. "Young man, the Werewolf King gave me this house himself. I do not want you lingering around here without my permission!"

I laughed. I just laughed and laughed and within a few seconds, Luciene started laughing with me while Agatha stared at us with a scowl on her face. She could see me. I wasn't invisible to the world anymore.

"I'm sorry, Agatha" I managed to say through my laughs. "I won't do it again."

Before she could respond, Luciene quickly chimed in. "Agatha, this young man is the Royal Delta. He's not as handsome as me, but he's still a looker isn't he?"

"Royal delta you say?" She stopped enchanting shields and rubbed her chin with her hand. "First I'm hearing of this."

"Well it won't be the last", Luciene teased while looking at me. "I believe you have a kelpie to interrogate young man. We won't keep you."

I smiled and nodded at him. Ken's dad had no idea how much he had just helped me. He might have actually saved me.

I laughed to myself while I walked out of the house. He and Agatha were arguing over who I was and where I came from. Agatha refused to believe that she was there when I entered her house or that she left me alone in that tiny room.

The moment I stepped out of her house, I covered myself in my shadow. Sure, I wanted to say hi to everyone and laugh with them, but now wasn't the time for that. Everyone would notice a new wolf amongst them. My scent would tell them that I belong in Mathew's territory and that I'm a royal werewolf, but it might cause them to be suspicious of me since we have a war at our door.

I glanced at my watch before I entered the torture cells. I sighed from relief when I realised only an hour had passed. To me it felt like I had spent an eternity in that tiny room.

As expected, Danny was the only one to notice me when I entered the cells in my shadow form. The guards didn't even see me walk past them. I almost wanted to scream from excitement. I had full control over my abilities.

I knew how to handle Danny now. Elizabeth gave her and Mike the power of sight. I knew how to remove Danny's sight. Shadow and I know that Elizabeth is much stronger than us so we would probably only be able to remove Danny's sight for a couple of hours, but we could still do it. We could make Danny vulnerable to our abilities.

"Keyon!", Danny almost cried as soon as I entered the room. These cells were really disgusting. Only the worst of the worst are usually put in here.

"Please tell me you believe me", she pleaded. "Keyon, I'm covered in blood from head to toe. I'm sitting in a cell that's covered in blood and human excrement. You've asked me all your questions and I answered you. Please let me out of here."

Tears started running down her face.

"I want to go back to our suite. I want to take a shower and sleep next to you and forget all about Mathew and everything he's put me though."

I raised a brow at her. "We're at war and you want to sleep?"

My question shocked her and she even stumbled a bit. "I'm just saying I need to rest. Surely, there's nothing wrong with that."

"Of course", I smiled at her. "I'm going to ask you one last question and then I'm letting you out of here."

She sighed from relief and got closer to the cell door. "I knew you'd believe me", she smiled back at me.

"Give me your hand."

She didn't hesitate. She put her hand through one of the bars in her cell and placed one of her hands that was covered in dry blood in my hand. I rubbed it gently until I felt it lose its warmth. She tried yanking it away, but I held on to it. Her light brown hand was so cold that it was about to turn blue, but I let her go before it got that far. I had removed the sight Elizabeth gave her.

When I let go of her hand she started looking around the cell as if she was looking for something or someone.

"Danny", I used my normal voice. "Danny, can you see me?"

She didn't answer me.

I smiled. "Yes", I muttered under my breath. I took a deep breath and started the interrogation.

"Danny, what happened at the Nymph kingdom? What happened to those warriors?"

She had that same dazed face that people have when I question them. She would feel compelled to answer my questions and wouldn't even remember that we had this discussion.

"Raphael and I killed them", she said in a whisper.

I was so shocked by this answer that I had to take a step back. I didn't think Mathew was actually right. I thought he was making a huge mistake. I thought anger was clouding his judgement.

"Why? Why did you kill them?"

Her eyes started tearing up. "Because I promised him the Eye of the Ocean. If I hadn't killed them, Mathew would have gotten the gem and Raphael would have killed my father."

I had to control the shock I was in. She told us she hated her father. She couldn't have been fooling us all this time. Surely, she wasn't this good at lying.

"You told us you hate your father. Were you lying?

She shook her head. "No. I despise him, but he's still my dad. He has his faults, but he tried his best. He really did."

"How long have you been working with Raphael?" Now that I had gotten the truth out of her about those warriors, I needed to find out more.

She bit her lip. "Ever since Ella and Mikah arrived at the Black Claw pack. I knew that without me and the maps, my father had nothing useful to give Raphael. He was going to kill him...and I was right. He almost did."

"How do you know you were right? What happened?"

"I went to go find my father as soon as I left the Black Claw pack. It was hard to find him, but because he was already in danger, the water carried me to him. When I found him...", she teared up again. "When I eventually found him, Raphael was just about to kill him. I begged him to spare my father's life. He said he would do it if I..."

"If you what, Danny?" I was struggling to keep my anger contained now.

"If I betrayed you guys."

"Why didn't you come to us?" I almost reached for her hand again. Why...why didn't you ask for our help?" I almost wanted to bang my head against a wall. We could have helped her.

She scoffed. "My father tortured Liz and Mike when they arrived in the Kelpie kingdom. He is the reason why Ken almost died. You all know how evil he is. You wouldn't have helped me save him. You'd let him die. You would all let him die, so I did what I had to do."

I took another deep breath. She was probably right. There was no reason to save that man. He really did deserve to die from what Danny herself had told us about him.

I turned around to leave the cells. I was done. I had gotten the truth out of her. Mathew was right after all. Danny was a traitor. She started working with Raphael after those kelpies arrived at the Black Claw pack. That was only two days ago, she couldn't have done more damage than that after only two days.

I started walking up the stairs, but then I stopped. There had to be more. I may know happened back in the Nymph Kingdom, but if she was working with Raphael, there was probably more we needed to know.

I turned back around and walked back down the stairs. I almost didn't want to proceed with the interrogation because I feared what else I would find out about her. I had grown to care for Danny. And even now, knowing she wouldn't be sleeping by my side wasn't sitting well with me.

"Danny, tell me what else Raphael is planning to do."

She started biting her lips while she looked into the far distance with glazed eyes.

"Danny, what else is Raphael planning?" I repeated myself.

She started telling me all about Raphael's war plan. She was filling in the blanks that we didn't have in the large box of papers Ella and Mikah had given us. The black were-bears had aligned themselves with him. With Danny's confession, I knew we had evil witches, centaurs, kelpies and black bears all coming to fight us. If we had the Eye of the Ocean, maybe we would stand a chance. With the gem in Raphael's hands, all werewolves may in actual fact get wiped out by this war.

Shadow and I were slowly starting to feel disgusted that we had slept with Danny. She knew all this was coming and was going to keep it to herself. Liz trusted her, saved her from an unwanted marriage, made sure she was treated like a royal member while she stayed here and this was how she repaid her.

"How about we wait for our mate before we go sleeping around?", Shadow almost mocked me.

Had it not been for the current situation, I may have said no, but he was right. I needed to be patient and wait for my fated mate. I could end up sleeping with someone like Danny again or even consider making them my chosen mate. The chances of me taking a chosen mate were slim to none, but I couldn't risk that after this. I couldn't risk being with someone who would do this to people who cared about her and trusted her.

I still had a few questions for Danny, so I went ahead with the interrogation.

"You said Raphael has pitted the Werewolf kingdom against the Gryphon kingdom. What did you mean by that? How did Raphael do that?"

Her eyes went wide and she started crying and sobbing hysterically. She was even shaking.

"Danny!", I roared at her. "Answer the question!"

She sat in a dirty corner in the darkest corner in the room and pushed her knees against her chest. This has never happened before. She was fighting the compulsion to answer my queation.

"Danny!", I roared at her and this time, I even pushed my Delta aura down at her. "Answer the question."

"Mathew thinks Killian has Liz, but that's not true."

"Where the fuck is Liz?", I roared at her and even started shaking the doors of the cell.

"Raphael has her", she gulped while tears streamed down her face. "He has Liz."

"How?" I roared at her. "How does he have her? What did you do Danny? What the fuck did you do?"

"I had to save my dad!", she cried in the dark corner.

I unlocked the cell and pulled her up by her dress. "What. Did. You. Do?"

"I told Raphael where Liz is", she almost stumbled over her words. "I told him Agatha sent her to the Gryphon kingdom. He caught her before she could come back and killed Mike."

I hadn't even realised it, but I dropped her on the dirty floor. She couldn't be serious. Liz had been captured by Raphael and all this time we thought it was Killian. Mathew was on his way to go kill Killian right this very second. He wouldn't ask any questions. He would just rip him apart. My only saving grace was that Ken told me Mathew travelled by car so he wouldn't arrive as fast as he would had he travelled in wolf form.

I had to stop him. If he killed the Gryphon king without reason or even for the wrong reason, this really would mean war with the Gryphons.

And Mike...Mike was gone? That couldn't be. He couldn't be dead.

Her sobbing pulled me out of my thoughts."How do we find her?" I roared at her. "How do we find Liz and Raphael?"

"I...I don't know", she muttered. I tried finding Raphael again after he and I killed those warriors, but there's something cloaking him. I can't find him...or my father again. Not unless they want to be found."

"Dammit!", I growled.

"How did you know where Liz was?", I asked her while I locked the cell as fast as I could.

I needed those bars to keep me from killing her. This was the ultimate betrayal. She fed Liz to Raphael and caused Mike's death. Just how terrible was this girl? Is that why Raphael wanted to marry her? Did he know she was capable of doing something like this?

"I convinced one of Agatha's witches to tell me. She knows Agatha and I have gotten close so..." She gulped.

I pursed my lips. I knew it didn't matter, but I had to know. "Did it hurt you at all betraying us like that? Betraying Liz and Mike like that?"

She nodded while crying. "It did. It hurt, but I had to save my dad."

"You're a good liar, Danny", I spat as I hurried out of the cell. "I almost believed you."

"Kepies are taught how to lie before we can even speak", she muttered almost to herself. "The Kelpie kingdom is ultimately a contest to see who can fool who the best."
