The Man of Steel in Marvel

Chapter 23: "The Multiverse."

Jiro relaxed, letting go of the idea that there was a single "right" way to cast a spell.

He closed his eyes and imagined himself merging completely with the energy of the sun.

"I don't need to borrow power from anywhere else... I am the power."

He slowly raised his hand. No circles, no chants—he just let the energy respond naturally to his will.

Buzz!

A golden spark burst out in front of him—then rapidly expanded, turning into a full-blown portal!

On the other side, Earth's cloud cover was clearly visible.

"It worked!"

Jiro could feel it—each time he used magic, it only used up a tiny bit of energy. But the sun's radiation was constantly recharging him.

"As long as I stay within the sun's reach—or don't burn through all my stored energy in one go—I can cast spells nonstop."

That meant he could teleport endlessly, without needing a Sling Ring. He could open portals anytime, anywhere.

And not just that—his spells would be even more powerful. After all, solar energy was way purer than the usual dimensional energies, so the effects could be even stronger.

He was also building a whole new kind of magic system—something totally his own: Solar Magic.

Floating in the blazing fire of the sun, Jiro's eyes gleamed with thought.

"There's so much more I can do with this."

For example—energy compression. Condensing solar power into something like a magic missile or a weaponized blast.

Or dimensional interference. Using his own energy to stabilize—or destabilize—portals to other dimensions.

Or maybe... mixing magic with superpowers.

Like fusing heat vision with magic, to create soul-burning attacks.

Trap enemies in a mirror dimension?

Or combine spatial magic and super-speed to teleport across galaxies?

Jiro calmed his excitement. Magic and superpowers were meant to complement each other. With his physical stats, not many people would even push him to the point of needing top-tier magic.

He looked in the direction of Earth and smiled.

"Well, it's still early... how about I try something a bit more advanced before heading back?"

And just like that, he raised his hand. Golden energy swirled in his palm. This time, he was trying to create a portal to a different dimension.

Like... opening a gate to the hell dimension—just to see what it looked like.

Or maybe see if Dormammu was in the mood to negotiate?

Either way, Jiro was in the mood to explore—like a kid who just got their first smartphone and wants to tap on everything.

Jiro stared at the golden energy flickering in his palm, a spark of excitement in his eyes.

Slowly, he raised his hand and began tracing a much more complicated sigil. It was an ancient rune he'd seen deep in the Kamar-Taj library—supposedly a key to opening dimensional doorways.

"In the name of the Old Gods, open the gate."

He chanted softly. His voice made no sound in the vacuum, but somehow it resonated with the energy.

Golden sparks spun and expanded in front of him, gradually forming a massive vortex.

Unlike the neat, circular portals from Kamar-Taj, this one had jagged, flame-like edges, like the space itself was burning.

On the other side of the portal, a dark red wasteland slowly came into view.

Twisted mountains rose like the spines of some massive beast, strange purple vortexes swirled in the sky, and the air was thick with the stench of sulfur.

Yeah... this was obviously a hell dimension.

"Interesting."

Jiro narrowed his eyes. Using his super vision, he pierced through the dimensional barrier and looked even deeper into the landscape.

Countless demons were wandering through rivers of lava. And deeper still, a few powerful presences were lying dormant.

As he was watching, a massive demon claw suddenly shot out of the portal. It was the size of a truck, with molten lava flowing across its scaly skin.

"Get lost." Jiro said coldly, his eyes flashing red.

Zzzap!

His heat vision cut clean through the claw. The demon let out a silent scream as its severed limb quickly pulled back into the dimensional rift.

The demons on the other side instantly got restless, but none of them dared to come closer.

"Looks like hell beasts aren't that dumb after all." Jiro chuckled and casually shut the portal.

He paused to think for a moment, then decided to try opening another dimensional gate—this time to Dormammu's Dark Dimension.

"Let's see how strong this so-called ruler of a dimension really is."

A new incantation formed at his fingertips, and this time, the energy pulse was even more intense.

Solar energy and the essence of the Dark Dimension clashed violently, and the moment the portal opened, fierce energy sparks exploded out.

The scene inside the Dark Dimension slowly became clearer—an endless void, floating purple crystals, and... a pair of enormous eyes suddenly snapped open.

"Who dares peek into my domain?"

Dormammu's voice boomed directly in Jiro's mind, heavy with the pressure of a dimensional overlord.

Unfazed, Jiro replied, "Just a Sun God passing by. Thought I'd say hi."

Dormammu's fury surged out of the portal like a tidal wave. "Insignificant creature! How dare you—"

"Save it," Jiro cut him off. "You can't touch me through the barrier. But..."

A smirk curled at the corner of his lips. "I can leave you something to remember me by."

Before Dormammu could respond, Jiro's eyes lit up to the max. Two beams of magically enhanced heat vision blasted straight through the portal, directly hitting Dormammu's true form!

A massive energy ripple burst out in the Dark Dimension, and Dormammu's roar shook the portal so hard it started to destabilize.

"You dare—!"

"Later."

Jiro shut the portal with a snap, cutting off Dormammu mid-roar.

He hovered in the heart of the sun's flames, quietly processing the data from the encounter.

Dimensional magic intensity, energy consumption, portal stability—everything matched his expectations.

"Looks like even a dimensional overlord can't do squat to me across realms." He nodded to himself, satisfied.

"If I can open these two dimensions, what about the others?"

He murmured to himself, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Like... the Heaven Dimension? Or maybe something even farther out in the multiverse?"

He raised his hand, ready to try opening another portal.

But right before he could release the energy—

Ding! Detected host attempting interdimensional exploration!

A system notification suddenly popped up, stopping Jiro mid-motion.

"Hmm?"

He raised an eyebrow. "What is it, system?"

Ding! Host has successfully mastered independent dimensional travel. Task system activation conditions met!

Multiverse Mission Module Unlocked!

Jiro blinked. "Mission system?"

Yes, host. The mechanical voice echoed in his mind:Simply think "Multiverse" and a random portal to a parallel world will open. The host can choose to enter and complete a mission. Success will grant growth points and rewards.

Jiro's eyes lit up with interest. "Missions and rewards, huh? Alright, give me the details."

In the mission module, you can accept specific tasks in other universes. Complete them, return to your home universe anytime, and earn growth points—also known as exchange points in the system shop.

"System shop?"

A second later, a virtual screen popped up in Jiro's field of vision, packed with all kinds of items, clearly categorized and listed.

Ding! System shop preview now available!

In front of his eyes, a glowing interface unfolded, showcasing an overwhelming array of goods:

Kryptonian Battle Armor (10,000 points)

Codex of Life (500,000 points)

Doomsday Cells (800,000 points)

Anti-Monitor Armor (2,000,000 points)

Cosmic Treadmill (150,000 points)

Mother Box (100,000 points)

Infinity Stones (each 5,000,000 points)

Eye of Agamotto (300,000 points)

Spear of Eternity (250,000 points)

Iron Man Nano Armor (8,000 points)

Mjolnir (20,000 points)

Green Lantern Ring (50,000 points)

Jiro skimmed through the list of items quickly. The Kryptonian battle suit didn't interest him—he wasn't exactly a fan of wearing underwear on the outside.

The Codex of Life? His steel body had already fused with it. But the Doomsday cells—that got his attention.

He glanced at the price and raised an eyebrow. "Tsk, pricey."

[Ding! Current growth points: 0]

"Nothing cheaper, System?"

[There are plenty of modules in the shop. Please explore them yourself.]

"Fine, I'll give it a shot first." Jiro closed the system interface, raised his hand, and golden energy started gathering in his palm.

"Alright then… let's go with a random one!"

He said in his mind: Multiverse.

Buzz!

A portal suddenly opened in front of him. Unlike the stable, circular ones from before, this one crackled with irregular blue lightning at the edges, like it was tearing through reality itself.

Through the portal, Jiro saw a familiar sight—New York City.

Towering skyscrapers, busy traffic, sunlight reflecting off the glass exterior of Stark Tower in a dazzling burst.

"Looks kinda like my world…"

[Ding! Detected universe: Movie Universe 199999]

[New Mission: The Shock of the Battle of New York]

[Mission Objective: When the Chitauri invade New York, resolve the crisis right in front of the Avengers and make them feel the power of Superman!]

[Mission Reward: 5,000 Growth Points + Random Reward]

A flash of golden light gleamed in Jiro's eyes. "Interesting."

Without hesitation, he stepped into the portal.

A second later, his figure appeared high above New York, looking down on the city that was about to descend into chaos.

"Well then," Jiro smirked.

"Time to show this world what a real Superman looks like."

"....."
