The Man of Steel in Marvel

Chapter 25: "Jiro: Hero or Thief?"

"Superman?"

Captain America frowned. "Unless you mean the one from comic books… Which group are you with?"

"I work for myself," Jiro replied. "Just happened to be passing by and saw you guys needed a hand."

"Passing by?" Black Widow raised an eyebrow. "You 'just happened' to casually stop an alien invasion while you were out for a walk?"

Tony circled around Jiro, his suit scanner beeping wildly. "JARVIS can't make sense of your bio-signature at all. But that armor? That's totally based on my designs!"

"And those powers you used—heat vision? Freeze breath? That's way beyond regular superpowers. Don't tell me you're really Superman."

Thor stepped forward, gripping Mjolnir tightly. "Mortal, that scepter is an artifact of Asgard. You will return it."

Jiro glanced at the scepter, then at Thor. "This thing's dangerous. I don't think it should be in your hands."

"That's not your decision to make," Captain America said sternly. "Weapons like that should be in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s custody."

Jiro chuckled. "S.H.I.E.L.D.? You mean the agency that's halfway infiltrated by HYDRA?"

That line hit like a bomb.

"What?" Cap's expression changed instantly.

"HYDRA?" Black Widow and Hawkeye exchanged alarmed looks.

Tony let out a low whistle. "Damn, that's one hell of a plot twist."

Thor looked confused. "Matters of Midgard are always so complicated…"

Jiro didn't push the topic any further.

He walked over to the Tesseract device, casually removed the glowing cube, then used a spell to extract the Mind Stone from the scepter.

"This one's my prize. You guys can keep the scepter for research."

"Wait!"

Cap rushed forward to stop him, but Jiro had already floated into the air.

"New York needs rebuilding. You've got bigger things to worry about," he said, looking down at them.

"We'll meet again."

And with that, he shot into the sky and disappeared into the clouds in the blink of an eye.

Once he was high enough, Jiro checked the Tesseract and the system notification.

[Ding! Mission Completion: 100%]

[Reward earned: 5000 Growth Points]

[Random reward generating...]

[Received: Alien Tech – Artificial Sun blueprints.]

Jiro nodded in satisfaction. This trip had been more than worth it—not only had he earned a ton of growth points, but he also scored the blueprints for an artificial sun.

That meant once he built it, he'd never have to worry about running out of magical energy again.

Even if he ended up in a world with no sun, he could be self-sufficient.

More importantly, he'd be able to absorb energy nonstop and keep evolving.

As for the Tesseract and the Mind Stone...

"System, can I take them with me?"

[Ding! Space Stone and Mind Stone (Infinity Stones) detected.]

[They can be taken, but may cause a butterfly effect.]

"I'll take them for now. I'll study them later," Jiro said, storing the Tesseract in the system's space.

[Return now?]

Jiro glanced down at New York.

The Avengers were still on the Stark Tower platform, clearly deep in heated discussion about him.

Captain America looked up toward the sky, like he could sense Jiro watching.

"What an interesting world," Jiro said with a smirk.

"It's too early to go back. Tony probably hasn't even fixed his suit yet. I might as well stick around and grab some more goodies."

His gaze pierced through the clouds and locked onto a hidden corner of the African continent—Wakanda.

Hidden behind a barrier of cutting-edge tech, this nation held the most precious resource on Earth—vibranium.

With a flash, Jiro broke the sound barrier and sped toward the African continent.

Just a few seconds later, he was floating silently outside Wakanda's invisible shield.

Thanks to his super vision, he could clearly see the outline of the whole country—its vibrant Golden City, levitating maglev trains, vibranium veins running beneath the ground, and the massive Black Panther statue standing tall in the city center.

"A perfect blend of tradition and tech."

Jiro muttered in awe, then turned his gaze deeper into Wakanda. His enhanced sight zoomed in on the vibranium deposits hidden deep underground.

A small smirk appeared on his lips. He raised his hand and began drawing a circle in the air. Slowly, a golden portal appeared, its other end opening directly inside the vibranium mine.

Without a sound, Jiro stepped into the pitch-black tunnel, surrounded by raw vibranium ore that shimmered with a faint bluish glow.

His invisibility spell perfectly blocked Wakanda's detection systems. Using his x-ray vision, he locked onto the purest vibranium deposits through layers of rock.

"As expected, Wakanda's vibranium reserves are way beyond what the outside world thinks."

He whispered to himself, touching the rocky wall gently with his fingertip, feeling the unique energy pulses of vibranium.

"System, how much stuff can the system storage hold?" Jiro asked.

[System: The system space has 999 slots. Each slot can hold only one type of item, but the quantity is unlimited.]

"Unlimited quantity? Damn, you really get me, system!" Jiros eyes lit up.

Without hesitation, golden light flashed in his eyes as he activated his heat vision, directing it at a specific section of the vibranium vein and emitting a certain frequency.

That section of vibranium began to soften, just as expected. Jiro wasted no time, slicing the ore with surgical precision. Huge chunks of vibranium floated up and flew directly into the portal.

[Ding! High-purity vibranium detected. Absorbing…]

[Current vibranium stored: 2 tons… 5 tons… 10 tons… 50 tons…]

Jiro didn't get greedy. He only took as much as he needed, then stopped.

"That should do it." He glanced at the stored ore in the system space and nodded in satisfaction.

But just as he was about to leave, a deep rumble echoed from somewhere deeper in the mine.

Thud!

The ground trembled slightly, like something ancient had just been awakened.

Jiro frowned. His super vision pierced even deeper layers of earth, and he narrowed his eyes.

At the heart of a massive vibranium vein… a huge, pitch-black metallic beast was sleeping.

It looked like a panther, but its whole body was made of liquid vibranium. Its glowing red eyes slowly flickered open as it began to wake up.

"Wakanda's guardian? Or some kind of vibranium-born creature?"

Jiro didn't panic. In fact, he was pretty intrigued.

The beast let out a low growl, and the vibranium around them began to writhe like a living thing. Suddenly, dozens of sharp spikes shot toward Jiro!

"Now we're talking." Jiro chuckled, not even bothering to dodge. He just let the spikes hit him.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The moment the spikes touched his skin, they stopped dead—no scratch, no damage at all.

The beast paused for a second, clearly confused. Then it let out a furious roar. The entire mine's vibranium began to boil, rising into a massive wave of molten metal trying to swallowJiro whole.

"Okay, that's enough fun."

A golden light burst from Jiro's eyes. His heat vision, now tuned to a specific frequency, blasted through the beast's head!

But the liquid vibranium instantly healed itself. The beast wasn't hurt at all—in fact, it went berserk.

"Physical attacks don't work?" Jiro raised an eyebrow and then smirked. "Alright then, let's try something else."

He pressed his hands together, energy surging through his body, then flung his arms open.

Buzz!

A blazing golden magic circle appeared in his palms. Countless glowing rune chains shot out from the void and wrapped tightly around the beast!

[Solar Magic – Dimensional Lockdown]

The vibranium beast thrashed and roared, but the chains didn't budge. They only tightened more and more.

Eventually, the creature let out a final, unwilling screech… and its entire body shattered, collapsing back into ordinary vibranium ore.

Jiro withdrew the spell, deep in thought. "So… Wakanda's vibranium might actually have its own consciousness? No wonder they've been able to develop such advanced tech."

Still, that wasn't his concern.

He had the vibranium he came for. It was time to go.

With a flick of his wrist, he opened a new portal and stepped through it, vanishing completely.

A few seconds later, Wakanda's security alarms finally started blaring.

"We're detecting abnormal energy spikes from the vibranium mine!"

Okoye rushed into the tunnels with the royal guard—but all they found was calm, untouched vibranium ore. Nothing seemed out of place.

"This doesn't make sense!" she muttered, checking the sensor data. "There was definitely an intruder just now!"

T'Challa arrived soon after. He knelt down and touched the ground, closing his eyes to feel the energy.

After a moment, he opened them again, his expression heavy. "Someone was here. But they left no trace."

"Who?" Okoye gripped her spear tightly.

T'Challa slowly shook his head. "Someone we can't track."

Above Wakanda…

"....."
