Chapter 31: "Earth's Turf: Jiro vs. The Kree Empire."

Above New York
Jiro hovered just above the clouds, his super vision piercing through the atmosphere until it locked onto a fast-approaching cloaked spaceship.
The ship had sharp, angular lines, its surface coated with some kind of optical camouflage—but it didn't fool Jiro's X-ray vision for a second.
"A Kree scout ship?" he muttered, frowning slightly.
Just then, the ship's hatch opened slowly, and a figure floated out—tall, humanoid, fully armored in blue, with glowing red eyes under its helmet.
"Interesting… a human with such power. Didn't think Earth had someone like you," the voice came through some kind of amplifier, cold and mechanical. "Your body is unique. Come with me to the Kree Empire."
Jiro narrowed his eyes. "Sorry, but Superman's not for sale."
The Kree warrior froze for a beat, then raised his arm. A cannon of glowing energy formed in an instant.
"Then die."
Zzzzap!
A high-energy particle beam ripped through the air, heading straight for Jiro's face!
But he didn't dodge. He just stood there and let the energy blast hit him right on the forehead.
A blinding light burst out—and then, from the aftermath of the explosion, his figure slowly emerged. Completely unharmed.
"That's it?" he scoffed, his eyes suddenly glowing with a fierce red heat.
The Kree soldier clearly hadn't expected this. Inside his armor, the system went into full-blown panic mode, alarms blaring everywhere.
He tried to retreat fast, powering up his full-body shield.
Too late.
Zzzz! BOOM!!
Jiro's heat vision shot out like two searing red spears, piercing straight through the Kree warrior's shield and armor.
A giant, molten hole opened up in his chest. Inside the armor, his vitals were crashing fast.
"Im...possible..." the Kree soldier looked down at his wrecked body, voice breaking.
"Who...are you...?"
"Superman," Jiro said coolly, then looked up at the Kree spaceship that was trying to escape.
"Trying to run?"
In a flash, he broke the sound barrier—like a streak of black lightning, he launched straight at the ship.
The Kree vessel pushed its engines to the max, trying to get away. But against Jiro's speed, it was useless.
One heavy punch—
BOOOOM!
The ship's outer hull crumpled like paper. The whole thing tumbled through space, sparks flying inside as systems overloaded.
Jiro floated in front of the ship, arms crossed, cold eyes locked on the terrified Kree inside the cockpit.
"Next time, think twice," his voice cut through the vacuum of space, echoing directly into their minds.
"Earth is my turf."
The Kree were dead. After going through their systems and translating their language, Jiro figured out their mission—retrieve the Cosmic Cube.
After reading everything, he raised a hand. His heat vision cut with laser precision, slicing the ship's engines clean off.
With no power, the Kree ship began to fall—plummeting toward Earth's atmosphere.
"Jarvis, track that ship's crash site," came Tony's voice through the comms. He had just arrived at the battlefield, his suit hovering a short distance away.
"We'll be needing that little gift."
Jiro nodded, watching the ship fall toward a target zone in the Atlantic.
Then he turned to Tony. "Looks like the Kree Empire's really interested in the Cube."
"Is that so? Guess it's time to bump the armor army project up the to-do list," Tony replied sarcastically.
"But seriously, how'd they even know where the Cube was?"
Jiro thought for a second. "Could've been the spatial disturbance earlier. Might've drawn their attention."
He glanced at Tony. "We'd better be ready. The Kree Empire's not gonna give up that easily."
Tony's helmet slid open, revealing a serious face. "So what you're saying is... we just pissed off an interstellar empire?"
"Pretty much," Jiro shrugged.
"Fantastic," Tony rolled his eyes. "I knew hanging around you would get me in trouble."
Jiro chuckled. "Regretting it already?"
"Ha!" Tony grinned, his helmet snapping shut again. "Kidding. This is way more fun than building clean energy."
They hovered high above New York, city lights twinkling below like stars.
The threat had arrived—but for now, Jiro's eyes were calm.
"Come on, Tony," he said, turning and flying toward Stark Tower. "We've got work to do."
Tony fired up his thrusters, blue flames shooting from his boots as he followed.
"Such as?"
"Well…" Jiro smirked. "Outfitting our suits with a miniature sun."
Tony's laughter echoed through the comms. "Now that's more like it!"
Two figures sliced through the night sky, heading straight for Stark Tower.
A prototype miniature sun hovered above the central lab bench, glowing with a soft golden light.
Tony Stark stood in front of a holographic display, fingers flying over data streams, brow furrowed.
"Energy output's stable, but we're still getting fluctuation in the containment field," he muttered, tapping one of the parameters on the projection.
Jiro stood nearby, his eyes faintly glowing gold. With his super vision, he looked straight through the reactor's shell, watching the plasma flow inside.
"The Uru metal's magical resonance frequency needs a 0.3% adjustment," he said suddenly, pointing to a node on the hologram.
Tony raised an eyebrow. "You can measure magic with your eyes?"
"Kind of used to it," Jiro shrugged.
Tony grunted and swiped his hand. The numbers adjusted immediately.
The energy curve on the projection smoothed out instantly, and the field stabilized perfectly.
"Perfect!" Tony grinned. "Jarvis, save these settings. Use them by default next time."
"Saved, sir," Jarvis replied.
"Great. Let's start the fusion!"
Hours later—
Tony let out a whistle, arms crossed proudly, as he admired the two armor suits floating in the center of the lab.
"Jarvis, activate display mode."
The lights dimmed, and the two nano suits slowly spun under a soft blue spotlight.
One was Tony's signature red-and-gold suit, sleek and metallic. The core glowed with the soft shimmer of the miniature sun, with energy threads pulsing like veins through the armor.
The other was Jiro's custom suit—jet black, with intricate golden patterns etched across the surface, like ancient runes.
The "S"-shaped emblem on the chest was also powered by an artificial sun, but the energy flow was much more restrained and controlled.
"Pretty slick, huh?" Tony patted Jiro on the shoulder.
"Both suits have a touch of magic in them now, but yours—the resonance between the Uru metal and your biofield is spot-on."
Jiro stepped closer to his own suit, reaching out to touch the surface.
The nanomaterials rippled like water, instantly adapting to the contours of his fingers.
"Response time's solid," Jiro nodded slightly. "Energy transfer efficiency's not bad either."
"Well, duh!" Tony raised his chin proudly.
"I fused vibranium into the nano-structure, plus the magical properties of Uru metal... In theory, this suit can handle high-level energy blasts."
Jiro raised an eyebrow. "In theory?"
Tony shrugged. "Okay, okay, maybe not quite there yet in practice—but at least it won't fall apart mid-fight."
"The suit's just for looks. When it comes down to it, my biofield protects the armor."
Tony: ...….
