Chapter 210: Chapter 209: Tearing Apart Your True Face (Extra)
Su Jue’s expression turned ugly, even more rigid than when scolded by a teacher.
What did that teacher call Lu Mian?
The top student?
And personally brought her water to drink?
This must be sarcasm, right!
Wan Lin glared at the distracted Su Jue, angrily smacking the test papers onto him, frustrated as if at iron not becoming steel.
“What are you looking at her for, look at yourself! It’s already the senior year, how much effort have you put into studying? You want to trade stocks, no one’s stopping you, but you’ve got to keep your grades up, right? What’s this now, forsaking the essentials for the trivial?”
Wan Lin’s voice grew louder, and Ding Cai could hear it from over there.
He turned his body to not let the noise disturb his precious student.
Lu Mian took a sip of the warm water provided out of the teacher’s kindness and smiled, “Teacher, you want to give me extra lessons again?”
“…” Geez, that was an embarrassingly flattering thing to say, who knows who would be tutoring whom.
“No, it’s about the school…”
Ding Cai hadn’t finished speaking over there when Su Jue suddenly raised his voice, loud enough to be clearly heard throughout the large office.
“Teacher, trading stocks is my freedom, you’re meddling a bit too much.”
Wan Lin clicked his tongue, growing even angrier.
Defiantly rigid-necked, Su Jue strode over to Lu Mian’s side, pointing at them and said, “Besides, if she can trade stocks, why don’t you talk about her? Her teachers don’t manage her either!”
Lu Mian, caught in the crossfire for no reason, lifted her eyelids lazily, too lethargic to bother.
However, Ding Cai wasn’t happy about it and quickly defended, “Don’t drag our Lu Mian into this; she’s the top of the grade now, perfect scores in all subjects! She can do whatever she wants!”
Su Jue paused, letting out an “Ah” sound, the rest of his words stuck in his throat.
Ding Cai didn’t pay him any mind and gossiped quietly, “Lu Mian, you trade stocks too?”
“Just for a bit of fun,” Lu Mian replied, sipping her water.
Ding Cai became somewhat anxious, “No, you’re not trying it because you read those romance novels, are you? Don’t be foolish, you could lose a fortune.”
Lu Mian helplessly replied, “I won’t.”
Su Jue sneered coldly, “Of course you won’t lose because you’re hiding in that stock-friend group, guided by a master to buy stocks, secretly making who knows how much money.”
Ding Cai and Wan Lin looked at each other, overwhelmed by the revelation…
Lu Mian put down her paper cup, somewhat annoyed, tugging at her ear, “You better hurry up and report me, then.”
“You… don’t rush, I will definitely expose your true colors and let everyone in the stock-friend group see what kind of person you are.”
Wan Lin, watching his student lose composure, felt quite embarrassed and quickly pulled Su Jue back.
“What are you comparing with Lu Mian for? If you had her capabilities, you wouldn’t even need to attend class! If you don’t have her talents, then listen to the class properly and stop getting distracted!”
“…” Su Jue clenched his fists tightly.
He remembered how previously, whenever he had encountered Lu Mian in the office, it had always been he who was praised and Lu Mian who was reprimanded.
But now, everything had reversed.
His own homeroom teacher spoke in favor of Lu Mian, and even his own younger sister began to hinder his plans.
He made up his mind that no matter what, he had to kick Lu Mian out of the stock-friend group.
Feeling aggrieved by the attention, Lu Mian found it annoying and lacked the patience to stay any longer, stood up and waved at Ding Cai, “Teacher Ding, let’s talk about it later, I’m going back first.”
Arrogant! Prodigal!
But Ding Cai wasn’t angry, and even placated her in a friendly tone, “Okay, okay, you go back first.”
After sending Lu Mian off, he looked at Wan Lin with lingering resentment, “Teacher Wan, you’ve upset my precious student.”
Wan Lin: “Sorry, sorry.”
Su Jue: “…”
Ding Cai actually wanted to discuss the school events with Lu Mian, but the disruption meant he’d have to bring it up another time.
However, he seemed to remember something.
Taking a few photos with his phone, he found the contact for “Lu Mian’s Mom” and sent the pictures to her.
