The misunderstood genius

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: The Secret Battle Beneath Eldoria

The assassins moved swiftly, their cloaking spells rendering them invisible. They struck without warning—dozens of poisoned daggers, unleashed at Joe's back.

Joe, naturally, had no idea.

He had just raised his hands, about to politely refuse The Veil's offer, when he accidentally tripped on his own robe.

Result?

The Veil thought he had sensed the assassination attempt and dodged at an inhuman speed.

The assassins? They panicked.

"HOW DID HE SEE US?!"

"Attack again!" one of them yelled, unleashing a barrage of ice spikes.

Joe, mid-fall, flailed wildly. His hand smacked against an old stone pillar.

Result?

The ruins shook violently. Ancient magic triggered. A hidden defense mechanism activated—a shockwave of energy burst forth, disintegrating the incoming ice spikes.

The Veil members gasped.

"He deflected the attack with a single touch?!"

"His control over ancient magic is… divine!"

Joe, still on the ground: "...What just happened?"

The assassins tried to retreat.

But The Veil, believing this was a test of Joe's power, immediately counterattacked.

In an instant, the hidden assassins found themselves surrounded by powerful shadow mages.

"Foolish," the crimson-eyed leader of The Veil said coldly. "To think you could strike at our lord."

The assassins were obliterated.

Joe sat up, dazed.

"...Did I win again?"

The Veil kneeled.

"You are not just strong, Joe Hoeyol. You are untouchable."

Joe screamed internally.
