The Multiverse Hunter

Chapter 187: Chapter 187

"Congratulations on completing your first Boss Mission."

A massive blue interface hovered before Ali, illuminating the vast, empty void around him.

"Please pick one of the three options below for your reward:

Option 1: Spell-Crucible Dive

Two ethereal wings will materialise from the player's back, lifting them high into the air before diving toward a chosen target with immense speed. The more Spirit invested, the greater the altitude and velocity of the dive.

Option 2: Spell-Crucible Tail

A formidable tail will emerge from the player's lower back, fully controllable and capable of delivering devastating strikes in any direction. The more Spirit invested, the stronger and more destructive the tail becomes.

Option 3: Spell-Golden Ring

A powerful shockwave will erupt from the player's body, repelling all nearby entities. The more Spirit invested, the wider and stronger the blast radius."

Ali's eyes flicked between the three options, his arms folded across his chest as he studied the interface. Next to each spell, images of the Crucible Knight in combat demonstrated their abilities— an unmistakable reminder that these were the very same techniques the boss had wielded against him.

"So these are the Boss Mission rewards... All of them are spells."

He analysed each one carefully, "All three scale with my Spirit, which is great since most spells have strict limits. The wings are useful, but I can already fly with my Force. Sure, they'd cost less Spirit and be more efficient, but ultimately, they're redundant."

His gaze shifted to the second option.

"The tail is strong-fast, versatile, and unpredictable in combat. A solid choice... but it's still not the best choice."

Ali raised a finger and pressed the third option-Golden Ring.

"Of all the abilities, this one was the most devastating to face. Its charge-up time is fast, and in close combat, it's nearly impossible to counter. With my fighting style, I can use it not just defensively but offensively as well. This will be fun to work with."

As soon as he confirmed his selection, the interface vanished.

"That's the last one done," Ali muttered, exhaling as he gazed into the endless void surrounding him.

Then, without warning—

WHOOSH.

White streaks of light swirled around him, distorting space itself. His vision faded, his consciousness slipping away as an overwhelming force pulled him out of the void.

Back in His Room

Ali's eyes snapped open. He was back.

The sensation of weightlessness faded as he felt solid ground beneath his feet. His hands were still clutching the fabric of his Sith uniform, which he casually tossed onto the bed

With a sigh, he unbuckled his belt, letting the holsters containing his weapons fall onto the mattress. He then peeled off his shredded grey shirt, the remains of his battle against the Crucible Knight still evident in the fabric.

Stripping down completely, he stepped into the bathroom, turning the cold water on full blast.

The icy stream hit the top of his head, cascading down his sculpted body, washing away the remnants of the fight.

Then—DING.

A translucent blue interface flickered to life before him, hovering in midair as water droplets passed through it.

"You have now met the requirements to ascend to the second level of Reincarnation Paradise. A supervisor will make contact with you in six hours to initiate the ascension process."

Ali barely reacted, his face remaining impassive as he let the message sink in.

"Six hours..."

It wasn't long, but it wasn't like he had anything else to do here anyway.

Finishing his shower, he dried himself off, grabbed a pack of rations, and ate quickly.

His fight with the Crucible Knight had drained some of his energy, but he wasn't particularly hungry.

Stepping back into his dimly lit apartment, he remained completely still for a moment before closing his eyes.

He reached inward. Down into his Spirit Pond.

As expected, it had fully recovered-reset to its original state. But what truly caught his attention was the Gate of Dragons, standing tall and mighty at the very edge of his Spirit Pond, completely sealed shut.

Then, Ali focused.

He thought of the Golden Ring, the spell he had just acquired. Instantly, the fog surrounding him shifted.

A small, golden circle of light materialised in the air beside him, slowly rotating.

Ali frowned slightly. 'Why is it manifesting' This didn't happen with my Force powers.'

Curious, he took a step closer—

BOOM!

The golden ring detonated in an explosive burst of energy.

Ali's eyes widened as he suddenly found himself back in his physical body, standing in his room. A golden hue shimmered beneath his feet, radiating from where the spell had been activated.

"I can feel it..."

There was a distinct sensation, almost like holding the trigger to an unseen force, waiting to be unleashed.

Ali exhaled and let go.

BOOOOOOM!

A shockwave erupted, flipping the entire room upside down.

His bed covers launched into the air. Weapons, clothes, and anything that wasn't solidly attached to the walls were violently tossed around like rag-dolls.

Ali stood in the centre of the devastation, expression unreadable.

"Strong."

He could only imagine what would happen if a person had been standing near him when the spell went off.

Checking his Spirit Pond, he noted that activating the spell had consumed 10% of his Spirit.

He decided to test something.

Summoning another Golden Ring, he focused on canceling the spell before it could trigger. The golden light shimmered momentarily-then vanished.

Yet, when he checked his Spirit levels again-

"It still used 10%, even though I stopped it before it exploded."

Ali continued experimenting until his Spirit was fully drained. Satisfied, he donned his Sith uniform, secured his weapons onto his belt, and took one final glance around his small apartment.

"Last time I'll be here."

With that, he turned and left, disappearing into the dimly-lit streets of the Slum.

As Ali walked through the crowded streets, all eyes turned toward him.

Unlike before, when he would draw occasional glances, this time was different. His black Sith uniform, the lightsaber at his side, and the twin Desert Eagles holstered on his belt made him stand out more than ever.

He looked like a man who did not belong here.

He looked powerful.

Above them.

Catherine was taking a customer's order when the door to her restaurant swung open. Instinctively, she turned to see who had entered.

Her eyes landed on him.

A tall, strikingly handsome man clad in black, carrying a lightsaber and firearms, exuding an aura of quiet dominance.

The moment she saw him, Catherine left the customer behind and walked toward him, a small but knowing smile tugging at her lips.

She knew what time it was.

"Ali.." she greeted, studying his expression. "I guess today is your ascension day."

There was a hint of bitterness in her tone, but Ali didn't react. His face remained unreadable as always.

"Yes. I'll spend some time here before leaving."

Without another word, he walked past her and headed toward the staircase leading to the second floor.

"Get me three portions of the custard. I'll sit at my usual spot."

Catherine sighed softly but nodded, turning back to the customer she had momentarily abandoned.

Upstairs, Ali took his usual seat by the window.

From there, he had a perfect view of the Slum's central district.

Today, however, something was different.

The streets were packed. The benches, usually half-empty, were completely full. A certain energy buzzed in the air.

Ali observed the restless crowd, the excited murmurs floating through the atmosphere.

"It's busier than usual..."

Then it clicked.

"Review day."
