The Peerless Ring

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Back to Kaillemen

After leaving the timber market, Jaxon casually had something to eat outside and then went to the bustling commercial area to look for a suitable shop to rent. With the sale of the rosewood, he would have the initial capital, and Jaxon wanted to open a restaurant.

"Boss, are you interested in sports and fitness?" While looking for a suitable shop, Jaxon was unexpectedly handed a flyer. "Yue Dong Swimming and Fitness Club." Jaxon looked at the introduction on the flyer in his hand. "Boss, our Yue Dong Swimming and Fitness Club has a good environment, plenty of sports equipment, and professional coaches, making it an ideal place for sports and fitness." The beautiful woman handing out the flyer saw that Jaxon did not immediately throw away the flyer and quickly introduced it.

In recent years, gyms have indeed been proliferating, and the number of people who actively exercise has also been increasing. However, Jaxon had seen quite a few news stories about gyms that, after collecting membership fees from customers, simply closed their doors and moved to another location to continue their operations, luring people into buying membership cards and deceiving them in a never-ending cycle.

If it were in the past, Jaxon might have directly refused. He used to run and do some pull-ups and dips on the playground at Goldenleaf University every morning, which was enough for him. He never intended to build any significant muscle mass; he just wanted to stay healthy.

But now, things have changed for Jaxon. After his upgrade in another timeline, his physical abilities, strength, and overall fitness have been continuously improving. He needs to expend and familiarize himself with this enhanced strength, so finding a more professional place with a variety of fitness equipment to work out is essential.

"Where is your gym located, and what are the membership fees?" Jaxon asked.

Seeing Jaxon's interest, the woman's eyes brightened even more: "Our gym is not far from here, with convenient transportation. For membership, it's 3,888 yuan per year, or 10,888 yuan for three years. It's very affordable and cost-effective. If you have time now, I can take you there for a look."

Jaxon thought for a moment and did not refuse.

The "Yue Dong" Swimming and Fitness Club was indeed not far away. Following the woman, Jaxon arrived there after about a ten-minute walk, and it was not too far from his residence either.

The gym occupied a considerable space, and the environment inside was quite good. Moreover, there were people working out there, which overall left Jaxon quite satisfied.

Since he didn't have much money on hand, Jaxon decided to get a one-year membership card.

Unable to find a shop immediately, Jaxon simply started working out there.

"Boss, would you like a personal trainer?" As soon as Jaxon began his warm-up, a coach approached and asked.

"No, thank you," Jaxon declined.

Jaxon had heard before that the personal trainer industry in gyms was quite messy. Some people could become personal trainers after just a few days of training, and their capabilities and qualities were questionable, to say the least. In short, it was a mixed bag.

"Without proper guidance, blindly exercising not only won't achieve the desired results, but it can also easily lead to injuries," the coach persisted, despite Jaxon's refusal.

While the coach's words made some sense, Jaxon remained unmoved and continued to decline.

After trying to persuade Jaxon for a while longer and seeing that he was still not convinced, the coach finally left with a sense of frustration.

Jaxon indeed had no expertise in professional training, but with his improved intelligence and strong learning ability, he could easily pick up exercises by observing others around him. There was simply no need for a personal trainer.

For half a day, Jaxon was sweating it out in the gym, and it wasn't until evening that he took a shower and left.

Returning to his place, Jaxon changed into a fresh set of clothes before heading to the entrance of Goldenleaf University.

Jaxon had not forgotten Chloe's invitation.

When Jaxon arrived, Chloe was already there, standing gracefully at the entrance like a fairy, drawing glances from passers-by.

"Sorry I'm late," Jaxon said as he approached.

In reality, Jaxon was not late; it was just that Chloe had arrived earlier.

Chloe glanced at Jaxon and said, "Let's go."

Chloe hailed a taxi, and at that moment, Jaxon witnessed the privileges of being a beautiful woman. Previously, when he tried to get a cab here, he had waited for a long time without success. However, as soon as Chloe raised her hand, a car stopped almost immediately, and surprisingly, no one around tried to compete with her for the taxi. Perhaps they didn't want to lose face in front of a beautiful woman.

"Where are we heading?" Jaxon asked, glancing at the driver through the rearview mirror.

"Kaillemen," Chloe's voice remained as cool as ever.

"Kaillemen?" Jaxon was taken aback. Was he that destined to be connected with this place?

"Yes," Chloe nodded. "To meet someone and have a meal."

"Is that all?" Jaxon felt that this matter should not be so simple. Otherwise, given Chloe's personality, she wouldn't have invited him along.

"Yes," Chloe nodded again. "You just need to focus on eating. Don't worry about anything else."

"Alright," Jaxon agreed.

Although the chef at Kaillemen was slightly inferior to him in culinary skills, the food still tasted good, with a wide variety of dishes. Jaxon was not one to turn down a free meal.

However, deep down, Jaxon felt that this matter was unlikely to be as simple as it seemed.

The car quickly arrived in front of Kaillemen. Amidst the driver's reluctant gaze, Chloe and Jaxon got out of the car.

"Welcome!" The two beautiful hostesses at the entrance were familiar to Jaxon.

"Excuse me, do you have a reservation?" A duty waiter approached and asked.

"Yes, the Orchid Hall," Chloe said.

"Please follow me," the waiter led the two of them to the private room on the second floor.

On the way, Jaxon unexpectedly ran into Manager Huang, who also spotted Jaxon. Manager Huang's eyelids twitched involuntarily, but he didn't say anything. Since the guests were here, even though he had a lot of grievances against Jaxon in his heart, as a manager, he had no reason to drive away a customer.

"Hello, Manager Huang," Jaxon greeted with a smile.

"Mr. Jaxon, hello," Manager Huang looked at Chloe beside Jaxon and a flash of admiration crossed his eyes. "Mr. Jaxon always seems to be accompanied by beautiful women."

Manager Huang was both complimenting Chloe's beauty and implying that this was not the first time he had seen Jaxon bringing a beautiful woman here. In fact, Manager Huang was acquainted with Lily and knew that Jaxon had no particular relationship with her. His intention was to subtly put Jaxon in an awkward position.
