Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Preparations, finally out
The next day after Alex talk with his father, at the training room,Alex is seen sitting down on the middle of a combat platform with dozens of broken and sliced robot bits around him. He sat in contemplation as he thought deeply of his father words.
"The prophecy" Alex rubbed his chin"is this why I have reincarnated?, by fate? not by a mysterious supreme being?" But it still feels like theirs a invincible hand at play here".
Arising,he looked down at his hard hands which is odd for an eight year old kid.
Clenching his fist ,"I don't like this feeling, I hate being a pawn in someone chessboard, I thought the system was it but it turns out to just be a minor part of the plan" he thought as he gritted his teeth.
"But there's nothing i can currently do, am still too weak" he breathed out as his body weaken.
Feeling his overflowing core and the smooth weapon crystal in his palm, also feeling the subtle ancient energy.
"Well it's not as if I will be a pawn forever", he smirks as he went back to his training with confidence.
Time passed as the day darkened.
The stars above the Walker estate shimmered faintly, scattered like dust across a velvet sky. The wind was gentle, warm, and silent, rustling the leaves of the high balcony where Alex stood with his mother.
She had said nothing for a while. Just stared outward, her ocean blue eyes distant. Alex didn't rush her. There was something sacred in her silence—something raw and quietly hurting.
"I wish I could have done something or at least give you something," she finally said.
Her voice was soft. Not fragile, but tightly wound, like something that had been held in for too long.
Alex turned toward her with a half-smile. "Like what? A legendary armor set? An ancient teleporting pet? A secret identity cause that will be very helpful?"
She didn't laugh. Instead, her lips pressed together, her gaze falling to her clasped hands.
"I'm not allowed," she said, almost to herself. "I'm not allowed to interfere. I'm not allowed to protect you. And I hate it."
"None of us are. They made that part of the agreement... and I had no choice, even when everything inside me screamed not to. And now—now it's time, and I can't give you anything. Not even a charm."
" I just don't understand why didn't they just send you to the walker training camp" her shoulders trembled faintly. "I hate this."
Alex's teasing faded as her voice cracked. She leaned against the railing, eyes still on the stars.
"I tried to stop it," she whispered. "Tried to convince Avalon. Argued. Pleaded. I knew it would come, but knowing didn't make it easier."
She looked away from him, eyes shimmering now for a different reason.
Her hands gripped the edge of the stone rail.
"I feel useless, Alex. Every time elder vonn trained brutally you, I wished I could stop it but again I can't . You came home with bruises hidden under smiles, and sometimes just I wished you were..... normal, not a child of prophecy, not an unparalleled genius, but just a normal boy" She said as her shoulders shook.
"I've not been the one who taught you how to fight," she said. "I never even thought you anything, you learned how to walk, talk and read on your own I feel useless".
"I'm supposed to be your mother Alex but what kind of mother am I, if all I've done is watch you grow… from the sidelines?"
Alex stepped up beside her and rested his head against her side.
"The kind that made all this possible," he said.
She looked down at him, startled.
"You're the one who brought me to this world, you gave me life and even a reason to live this life.
"But more importantly," he said, looking up at her, "you are my mother. You don't need to throw fireballs or punch dragons to prove that. You just need to be… you."
He tilted his head up to meet her eyes, smiling faintly.
"You didn't teach me to fight. But you are my reason why it's worth fighting, no matter what hardship I face outside, I will grits my teeth and pull through knowing you are waiting for me."
Tears welled quietly in her eyes as she drew him into a hug. He let himself lean into it, wrapping his arms around her waist, holding on as tightly as she did.
She exhaled shakily. "I just don't want to lose you."
"You won't," Alex said. "I'm way too talented to die early. That would be such a waste of potential and not even God would allow it."
She laughed—finally. Her hand cradling the back of his head.
"I love you," she murmured.
"I know," Alex said softly. "And I love you more."
She kissed his forehead like he was still two years old,"Come back to me," she whispered, voice trembling. "I don't care how strong you get. Just come back."
Alex nodded into her shoulder, the humor giving way to quiet resolve
"I promise."
---
The Walker estate's training hall was quiet by night. Pale spirit-lights floated along the high walls, casting gentle glows across the smooth floor. Alex stood barefoot at the center, stretching with a groan.
"Alright," he muttered. "Let's make sure I don't die immediately upon arrival".
He eased into his warm-up forms. Basic stances, swift shifts, mana-guided movements. Nothing flashy. Just enough to feel the rhythm of his body and let his mana breathe.
His core pulsed gently within him—a swirl of silvery-blue energy, quiet and impossibly dense, comparable to an average first stage core compression.
"Still playing it cool huh," he murmured, eyes half-lidded. "I see you."
He raised his right hand. Embedded within his palm was the faint outline of a crystal—his Weapon Core. It pulsed faintly, drawing in mana at its own pace.
Alex narrowed his eyes.
"If you turn into a fishing rod or something ironic,I'm trading you in."
No response.
Figures.
Finished with training, he slipped out into the garden—his favorite place on the estate. The stone path wound through soft grass and glowing moss, passing beneath luminous trees that gave off a soothing blue light. Fireflies floated lazily above the pond.
He dropped onto the grass near the koi fountain and laid back with a sigh, arms folded beneath his head.
The sky above stretched endlessly. Beautifully dark with nothing but just stars.
"It's been a long eight years"
Sigh.....
"Died and got reincarnated into a noble bloodline," he muttered. "Have a weird secret energy nobody understands. Rejected a system like it was a scam email. Got Child abused and force-fed cultivation and battle techniques by a terrifying broad and muscular man. And now I'm being thrown into the wilderness because of a prophecy written by some supreme being probably as a joke."
He paused.
"Yup. I kinda prefer other reincarnators set up... Well except for kazuma satou, bro really had it bad"
A leaf drifted down from the glowing willow tree and landed on his nose.
"Rude."
He sat up slowly, gazing at the trees one last time. "Hope they've got decent scenery out there."
He turned toward the house.
"…And women too."
---
The chamber beneath the estate was carved from ancient stone and layered with deep-set enchantments. Runes glowed softly beneath the teleportation circle, pulsing with dormant power.
Alex stood at the center, wearing a classic adventurer get up with his arms crossed, while Avalon stood before him, still with the stotic expression on his face.
"No delays," Avalon said. "Once the energy is filled, the circle activates."
Alex gave a mock salute. "Understood. Random teleportation, no help, probably danger. My kind of vacation."
" Are you prepared fully?"
"Yep...quick question do I need to write my will"?.
"Be serious" Avalon raised an eyebrow. "Don't forget to Adapt. Think clearly. And don't get cocky."
Alex grinned. "I believe I have the right to get slightly cocky."
" No you don't, there's always someone more better and talented than you" avalon replied with a furrowed brow
"Really? i seriously doubt that"
Before Avalon could reply, her footsteps echoed.
His mother appeared, wrapped in a soft travel cloak, her hair loosely tied. Her eyes were wet.
"I know I shouldn't be here," she said, voice trembling. "But I couldn't just let you go without seeing you one more time."
She cupped his face gently in both hands.
"No stunts. No overconfidence. Just… live. Come back. Please."
Alex nodded. "I will."
The runes began to glow brighter. The air trembled.
"I love you," she whispered again.
"I love you too," he said, his voice soft.
Avalon stepped back.
The circle flared to life—brilliant, blinding white.
As it activated, Alex glanced at them one last time.
"Don't miss me too much," he called over the hum of magic. "I'll only be gone long enough to get traumatized and become cool."
And then, with a soft crack of energy light engulf him and he was gone.
Watching the faint flickers of light, an unknown glint flash by a pair of eyes.
---
The world reformed around him in flashes.
When the light cleared, Alex stood on solid stone, a breeze tugging at his cloak. He staggered slightly, then caught his balance.
The view hit him like a spell.
A mountain peak, sharp and wide. Trees stretched out far below—massive, ancient, and unbroken as far as the horizon reached. The sky above was streaked with morning gold.
"…Okay," Alex said slowly. "That's very pretty."
A howl echoed faintly from deep within the forest.
He glanced around.
No signs of other people. No signs of civilization. Just nature, raw and untamed.
"Mana's thin and unrefined" he noticed
"And the space here, he frowned "it's strong and hard even resisting me abit unlike at the mansion were space although strong still bends to my will"
"Although it's strong I should still be able to blink normally and do some simple stuff but with reduced distance and strength" he presumed
Looking around,"So this is what the outside world looks like, thin mana but everything just feels... natural"
"Although I did expect more but this okay"
Taking a sword out of his storage ring, he held on to it tightly, despite not showing it, his really nervous as this is his first time in the wild since coming to this world, and no sort of books would give him enough experience to handle.
"first goal, survive today" he said trying to hide his nervousness.
Still, a small smile curved at the edge of his lips.
He took a deep breath of wild, natural mana in the air.
And walked forward.
