The Proud CEO

Chapter 18: Fallout

The headlines were merciless.

"Wolfe Unleashed: Scandal, Secrets, and the Woman Behind the Storm."

Eliana didn't leave her apartment for three days. Not out of shame—but strategy.

She read every article, dissected every narrative. If they were going to survive this, they needed a plan. And she needed to be more than the woman in the photo.

She needed to be a partner.

Adrian, meanwhile, went silent. Meetings were postponed. Statements were vague.

But when he finally called, his voice was raw.

"They're voting tomorrow," he said. "To remove me."

She swallowed hard. "What can I do?"

"Be with me. Not as a shield. Not as a strategy. Just... with me."

That night, she walked into his penthouse wearing the same confidence she used to fake in interviews.

"You built this company," she said. "You're not walking away."

He looked at her—wounded, angry, in love.

"Then I'm staying," he said. "But not just for the company."

He kissed her like a man who had just chosen love over legacy.

And for the first time, she didn't feel like a risk.

She felt like home.
