The Proud CEO

Chapter 23: The Fire Inside

Adrian hadn't yelled in years.

But that day, his voice thundered through Wolfe & Kings.

Because someone leaked private medical records. Details about Eliana's pregnancy. Confidential, cruel, and illegal.

He slammed his office door and called an emergency meeting with legal.

"Find out who did it," he barked. "And fire them. No severance. No grace."

Eliana sat quietly in his office, one hand on her belly, the other gripping the chair. She wasn't scared of him. But she was tired. Tired of being a target.

"They're trying to break us," she said.

"They won't," he replied. "I won't let them."

That night, he didn't go home. He stayed in the office, going through files, tracing access logs. Obsessive. Relentless.

She returned the next morning to find him asleep at his desk.

He stirred when she touched his shoulder.

"Adrian…"

"I have a name," he said, voice hoarse. "It was Cassandra's assistant. Paid off by a rival firm."

Eliana exhaled. "Of course it was her."

"Not anymore. She's banned from the building. And I'm pressing charges."

For the first time in days, Eliana smiled. Not because of revenge.

But because the man who used to hide his feelings now fought like hell for the woman he loved.

And their unborn child.
