Ishira quickly covered Akira's mouth. He peeked around the corner of the stairs, just in case the dragon was still there.

A strong, hot wind blew down the staircase, and as he tried to look, the enormous mouth and snout of the dragon were right in front of the stairs, dangerously close.

He immediately stopped peeking. Unconsciously, he kept his hand tightly over Akira's mouth—she seemed like she couldn't breathe.

Her face turned red, as if she was suffocating. Realizing this, he quickly let go and repeatedly bowed in apology.

Akira, too, bowed along with Ishira in the same manner.

Akira felt uncomfortable as Reiji suddenly froze, staring at her face for a long time.

"Psst… psst… Reiji, is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me so long?"

Ishira finally snapped out of it—he had been looking at floating text that appeared alongside Akira's face.

"Eh… sorry, I was just thinking about something earlier… my bad."

Suddenly, Akira backed away from Ishira.She retreated until her back hit the wall.

"Not again… She must really hate me."

But then, her hands, which had been at her sides, slowly rose, pointing at something behind Ishira.Her face turned pale with fear—her index finger trembled violently.

Ishira turned his head and saw it—one giant eye right behind them. Its dark, pitch-black pupil was fixed directly on them.

"Shitt..That dragon spotted us…"

In a flash, he kicked the dragon's eye. His foot came away slimy from the creature's tears, and the dragon thrashed wildly, swinging its head toward them.

Ishira tried to shield Akira from the impact, but luckily, the space was too narrow, so the dragon couldn't use its full strength.

The dragon began to rage and shake its head, thrashing its body. Little by little, the stone staircase started to collapse.

Ishira desperately tried to think of a way to survive, but there was no escape—at any moment, they could be crushed by the dragon's thrashing head.

Suddenly

Out of nowhere, fire struck the dragon.

Gurawhhhhh!!!

The dragon immediately retreated, its eyes burned by the flames, thrashing wildly as if in agony.

Ishira was shocked to see that the fire had come from Akira's hand.

"Wait!! Let me catch my breath first..."

Ishira took a deep breath and then continued questioning.

"What the hell was that fire… How did it come out of your hand, Akira?"

"I also don't know… Suddenly, fire came out of my hands. Reiji, we should think about saving ourselves first, or both of us will die," said Akira.

"Ok… ok, follow me now!"

Ishira grabbed Akira's hand. He saw that the dragon was still struggling, its eyes burned from the fire earlier.

But the only way out of the school was through the gate, which was right behind the dragon..

His eyes darted around—a fire extinguisher.

"Hey Akira, stay here… I'm about to do something crazy real quick."

Akira just nodded.

"Be careful."

This time, the dragon was furious, spewing fire from its mouth all around the school.

Without thinking, he sprinted toward it, barely dodging another blast of fire. His fingers wrapped around the cold metal, and he ripped it off the wall.

"This is insane. This is so, so insane."

The dragon's massive claws tore through the wall, debris raining down. Its maw opened again, preparing another blast.

Ishira didn't hesitate.

He pulled the pin and aimed the extinguisher straight into the dragon's mouth.

FOOM!

A cloud of white foam exploded into the beast's throat, choking its flames. The dragon reared back, coughing violently, its massive body thrashing in confusion.

"Hell yeah, you stupid dragon!!"

But Ishira didn't have time to celebrate. The dragon wasn't dead—just pissed off.

Quickly, he ran back to Akira, grabbed her hand, and sprinted with all his might toward the school fence.

And now, it was looking right at him.

"Oh no."

The beast's tail swung like a wrecking ball, smashing through the ground. Ishira and Akira barely rolled out of the way, but the shockwave sent them flying.

They crashed into the school fence, his vision blurring.

"We can't win like this… I need a real weapon."

Then, a glint of metal caught his eye.

A KATANA.

Hanging in mid-air right in front of him—likely part of some cultural display.

"Are you kidding me?"

Akira lay beside him, wounded and bleeding, her body covered in dust and dirt.

He didn't have a choice anymore.

Ishira grabbed the blade, his grip tightening.

"If this is really a story… then I'll play along. But I'm not dying for their entertainment."
