The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 501: The Long Way Down

[HAWI]

Hawi had never hated someone as much as she hated Jeremiah Warner. She despised this man with all she had and didn't have. She wanted him dead in one too many ways, and she had planned everything down to the last bit.

However, she was determined to make sure that even in death, Jeremiah Warner would remember her. He would never forget what she did to him for taking out her family. He had taken the most precious things to her, and she would take everything from him.

She would make his world a bland show of ashy scenes. She was never going to forgive him and when he saw his battered parents come through the portal, Jeremiah knew that he had fucked with the wrong girl.

"No," Jer growled out as he struggled to shift back into his human form. He had sworn he was a good person or his parents when he had taken them out of the supernatural realm and into the human realm.

He had made them feel like they were the parents of the best kid other when their son was just another bastard. Perhaps they should have questioned themselves when he had insisted that they leave the realm they had lived in their lives to shift into another one.

But then it didn't matter right now, or did it? Would it make any difference whenever one was suddenly granted the ability to know what Year had to say in the mind links? It was a cruel hour for Jer, and everyone was watching him struggle.

It was interesting though, to Hawi, because she was smiling and giggling like sheep as she looked at the love of her life who was smiling back at her too.

Rukiya Greyson looked proud as fuck of the woman she was mated to and if they hadn't bene on the battlefield. They would have been on a different war, the kind that didn't have any casualties for the both of them.

"If you ask me, they are in better states than what you left my mother in. Did you ever come to understand why she was the Luna who won so many hearts in Sicario before you killed her?

"Did you know she knew about your plan to kill her to weaken me and she still let you do whatever you wanted with her? Did you know she sacrifice herself because she believed in the fucking prophecy that would eliminate the Russels?

"Did you know that she was easily the best thing that Sicario ever had? That she was our pillar? Who am I kidding? You were here," Hawi said as she stared coldly at Jeremiah who was still circling his mom.

She knew he was trying to hold back formatting his mom, but Hawi didn't care about that, she couldn't even think of any reason that could make her spare Jer or any of his family.

He had been selfish with her and so cruel that Hawi was sure the fates were still in shock at how easy it was for him to betray her. This shouldn't have happened had Jeremiah had even the devils wrong.

"Please, don't. Don't do this, Awuor, please," Jer pleaded and Hawi just laughed at the absurdity. It was hilarious, seeing how hard Ker was trying to control himself from hurting his family. It was, however, the kind of thing that made Hawi happy.

"You really are a piece of work, Warner. For five years you pretended to be my loyal mate, the man who had come into my life because the goddess had sent him. And for five years I loved you. Hell, I loved you even after my banishment.

"I worried for you. I cried for you and yet the first chance you got to stick your dick in the nearest open skirt, you didn't hesitate. Was it fun, Jeremiah? Was it fun ruining the one person who had never done shit to you?

"Was it fun taking out your desires on the one woman who had never once thought of you as anything other than her son? She loved you. My mother adored you even though she knew you were stinking fucking rogue.

"Any mother would have defied the bond because it would upset the ranks, but my mother accepted you. She was there for you on days when you felt low. She was the mother your mother wasn't able to be in those five years.

"And yet the only thing you ever gave her in return was a broken heart and a shattered reality of life and love. Why was it so easy for you to betray her?" Hawi asked this time, and her tone had gotten cold.

The fact that it had taken her years and years of torment to finally put up the pieces of that night and her way to tear through Jeremiah with her bare hands. But that was too easy. That was not how he had made her mother die.

He had been cruel and Hawi would be worse.

He had fucked up her mother and made the beautiful Luna a shell of who she had been. This man had forced her to rack up a burial ceremony just because. He hadn't let them mourn her mother for three months like it was the custom of Sicario.

He hadn't given him a chance to come to terms with the truth because all had happened so fast. Stay connected through empire

Oh, Hawi had stored that rage for the longest time and right now, she wasn't about to play the forgetful child who had lost. She would be the child who wouldn't forget and boy did she have a long memory.

"She wouldn't let him hurt his mother, right?" Rio asked as he looked at the sight before him. He had heard of the crazy girl in Sicario and how she could easily be an angel and the ruler of hell at the same time.

He had never once thought that there would come a day when he witnessed it. Perhaps he had been thinning it was all just rumors, but when the warriors got silent, none of them answering him, he wanted to still think that Hawi wasn't that devoid of humanity.

Then again, Jer had taken everything possible for her. What else would he ever be able to take, no?

"Nope. She's not that cruel," Theo said and this time, Elodie laughed sadly. They had all been away from Hawi and her madness for so long that they had almost forgotten what it's like to be on the receiving end of Hawi's wrath.

This was the same woman who had gone to war with them for their sake. Surely that was something Theo as her warrior general couldn't have forgotten as soon, right? Or maybe he was hoping that Hawi had changed.

But pain never really went away that easily.

Jer had made a monster out of a girl who had only been known as crazy because of her power and antics at war. She had been called crazy because she only ever listened to her mother, who was scarier than her.

Perhaps that's why there is little hope, but what's the point right now?

"I wish I could say she wouldn't," Elodie said as she plopped next to Hudhayfah.

"Eat," Hawi commanded and that was all it took for Jer to start feeding on his mother, while tears rolled down his face in defeat.
