Chapter 503: The World Keeps On Going
[HAWI]
"Do something, Rukiya," Malika whispered to the only girl who could get through to Awuor Hawi at the moment she had sent the age in Hawi's eyes and Malika knew she was as close to crossing the line between justice and insanity.
It wasn't something that she had even thought she would have Rukiya do, but right now, there weren't that many options for them.
"What the hell am I supposed to do? You know very well that he deserved what was coming for him. He crossed the line long before anyone could try and figure out what the hell he was up to!" Rukiya whisper-yelled as she looked at Hawi on the other side of the barrier.
She was in love with the girl so much that it hurt to see her like that. She knew this wasn't going to be the end of the madness and Ruru could only ever hope that things didn't get too blurry.
But then what was supposed to determine the good and the bad for them? Where were the lines meant to be drawn, because right now, it all seemed like there was nothing they could do to save Jeremiah or even his family that was hopelessly trapped in the horrors of Hawi's rage.
"Only you can get her back, Ruru," Elodie said and Rukiya looked at the Savasci knights like they were fucking kidding there and then. This wasn't what she had expected and frankly to say she was disappointed in Jer would have been an understatement.
They all knew what had happened and who deserved the wrath, and yet even then they were bargaining with Hawi's humanity?
That was somewhat of a low blow for them and regardless of what they tried to do, Rukiya wasn't opposed to what Hawi was doing right now. Her mate was well within her rights to be doing that.
"I don't see anything wrong with the situation. The bastard fucked around, now it's time for him to find out. His parents were his enablers and the Russels played a key role in what he did.
"If you ask me, I could easily go and join her on the battlefield. Someone needs to make these people pay. The warriors are tired, so they can be excused, but I can go and help Hawi.
"I just don't understand what the heck is wrong with all of you right now," Rukiya whined as she looked at her mate who was still playing games with Jer.
Rukiya knew He was terrified, hell everyone who was on this side of Sicario coil already what how erratic the Warner's heartbeats were.
He was scared shitless of whatever the hell Hawi was doing to him, and while he wanted to be brave and say that it didn't matter, Jer was scared of even living.
He had the magic that was meant to help him and yet none of that had been able to make things right for him. He was just the same old pathetic Jeremiah who could be strung along by every other person who could play him.
He was fucked and it wasn't a secret.
"If Jer kills his father the way he murdered Alpha Sicario, then we will never get our Hawi back. It will trigger so many memories and a rage that not even the protectors would ever be able to get her out of.
"She will be lost in herself and she will turn into a lethal weapon for wars instead of the girl we all know, Rukiya," Hudhayfah spoke and Rio stared at the old healer like this had to be some fucking joke.
From where they were standing, everything was happening just the way it should have been, nothing was out of place. And the realms were about to be a lot safer without the Russels and Jeremiah.
Surely that couldn't be thought of as the worst decision, right?
There had to be another way instead of the sudden way of thought that was lingering among them. There had to be better ways out of this, because otherwise, all of this was just as fucked up for all of them.
"The warriors have been fighting the entire night. They need to get some rest. I'll create a portal for them to Olyana so they can freshen up and join their families," Malika suddenly said and they looked at the warriors who were still in shock at what they were watching.
It was somewhat sad how the warriors had been to all sorts of battlefields and had been the worst of themselves there, and yet seeing Hawi here was more shocking to them than the fact that the Savasci knights had managed to tear through the entirety of the Russel army without any difficulty.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. They held the first so well for the first time in the five years they had all been fighting," Hudhayfah said and Malika nodded before she mind-linked the warriors about their passage to Olyana. Stay updated with empire
Most of them were not ready to leave because they wanted to see for themselves what Hawi would do to the Russels and Jeremiah, while others just wanted to sleep.
It had been a long twenty-four hours for them so they could even be blamed for wanting to leave at the moment. Perhaps that was also why it was easier for them to all go through the portal, leaving behind the Savasci knights, the Warners, and the Russell brothers.
Once the portal closed, Malika brought down the batter that stood between them and Hawi on the other side.
She knew it was probably risky, but then with the dome up and the only people who could be collateral damage gone, there was no reason for them to worry about anything anymore, because they were all protected by the magic of the dome and the magic that Hawi had cast on them all.
"Still, we need to find a way to stop Hawi. She can't go fighting with this," Malika insisted and Rio stared at her like she had lost her mind. What part of Jer deserved the karma were they not getting?
Or was he the one who couldn't understand what the hell was going on with them? Life was filled with chaos and they had struggled to get through it in one too many sections. Surely this can't be a problem, right?
"Hawi is vengeance at its best. I don't see anything that could be challenging about what she is trying to do or even doing. They took someone important to her and she is taking their important people too.
"It is that simple and frankly, I don't see the point of holding back. That is not something that you should argue with, Hudhayfah. You more than anyone should know what it means to lose everything and everyone you care about.
"There is an emptiness that never leaves, no matter how much love you get from people who love you. So let the girl be, let her deal with this like she wants to. Let her satisfy her thirst for blood so she can close the chapter once and for all," Rio argued and Rukiya sighed.
This wasn't going to be easy, but they had to think and work through it, otherwise, they would lose more than they bargained for.
"If she goes through with it, we will lose her to her dark side," Malika stated like it was already something everyone could see.
