[HAWI]

"Awuor?" Elodie's voice sliced through the silence. She had never thought that this day would come. She had hopefully dreamt of it more than once but she had never imagined it would be like this.

Now that she thought about it, there was never a definite way for Hawi to come home. Her sister had been away for the longest time and she was just glad that she was seeing her right now.

However, the disbelief written all over her face was a reminder that Hawi needed to know that other wolves probably were in the same state. She had told them she would be coming home.

She had come back unannounced, like a thief in the evening and yet even then she seemed to be a little confused about their reaction more than she understood the emperors that were spread in the merged mind link.

This was not how any of them had imagined and it was crazy.

"You're here?" Elodie asked before she rushed to her sister to hug her. It was more than obvious that she had doubts about whether this was her sister, but at the same time, she couldn't fit it in herself to stay away.

Her sister had been gone for far too long and Elodie Kane hoped that this time, Haw wouldn't leave. Sure, she wasn't certain that this woman was truly her sister and not a miracle by the Russel girl, but then that didn't seem to matter right now.

All she cared about was her sister, the girl she had spent years and years missing like the world was only revolving around her.

Perhaps it was the worst that could possibly happen, to be played with like it meant nothing, but that was a risk that Elodie Kane was more than willing to give up her fortune for.

She had nothing that could hold her back with her sister and she sneezed Hawi to be here to be alive, to be right in front of her otherwise she would have done many brain farts.

"Please be real," Elodie whispered as she held onto Hawi. so much was going on in her head. She wanted to ask Hawi a lot of things and at the same time she wanted to tell her about the time that had been spent without her.

It was more than just a regular take for her and she wanted to talk. But right here and then, Elodie chose not to say anything. Maybe it's because of the way that Hawi returned her hug, or the way that Hawi held her so delicately and tightly without any prejudice.

For someone that had lost a lot along the way, there was no telling what the hell she felt to lose and yet as Elodie stood there, she knew not to say too much. She would ask about all that shit later, but until then, she was with her sister and that was all that matters to her.

"It's me, Kane," Hawi said and Elodie let out a sigh of relief at the same.

She had been so scared of all of this turning out to be a terrible dream but now that she was certain it wasn't a drama, she felt like she could finally relax. That was the only thing that Elodie needed right now.

"You're real?" Elodie asked hopefully how to let out a chuckle.

"Of course, Kane," Hawi said to her sister, using the name that she always used with Elodie, a name that meant a lot between them in most cases. And right now, it was the polite reminder to the struggling wolf that her best friend had really made it back home.

Her sister had finally come back and hell would be damned if Elodie let her leave again. Well, it was pretty obvious with the way that she had held onto Hawi tightly.

In the near distance, the Savasci knights were watching along with the wolves of the new Sicario. They were excited to see Hai and frankly, this was more than they had thought possible.

It was like a whole new world was resurfacing and they didn't have to fight as much to see the end of all of this. All they had to do was hope and wait because, at the end of the day, the truth was there with them.

The return of Hawi meant a new beginning, and a new beginning meant that they had learned from their mistakes which was more than comforting because they all didn't want to go back to the period of war.

But would the Salvadors pay heed to such a soft request that had remained unspoken despite the team that had passed?

"I missed you so much," Elodie said and Hawi kissed her sister's forehead in silence.

"Please be okay," Mbali whispered softly as she watched the sisters embrace themselves. Her mind was plagued with more questions than she had answers. A part of her already knew that Hawi hadn't wanted to come back to them for the longest time.

Hawi had turned down every conversation about home so it wasn't making any sense to Mbali that she suddenly had a change of heart. That was even more ridiculous than akin up to fight the crown just because they were bred and wanted to write action in their lives.

Oh, how Mbali knew there was something else, but she would wait it out.

The only thing she hoped for was for Hawi to not sacrifice herself again, because then it would be the hardest of thighs for the realm and most especially the Savasci knights. They had to be better, right?

"Lihle," Malika breathed as she made her way past Hawi with a smile and went over to where her sister was at the moment.

They hadn't seen each other for a while and Hawi was honestly amazed by the amount of restraint that Malika Jabali was exercising right now.

She had seen the way the sisters had fought to stay together over the five years that had passed before the long night, and she knew that Malika had to have had it the worst, seeing as she had been determined to give the best to her sister.

Of course, to some extent, Hawi wanted to blame herself for the decision back then, but it was the only way for them to heal.

It was the only way that they wouldn't end up being bitter about not having mates while their friends had their mates and were all lovey-dovey and shit with them. Stay connected through My Virtual Library Empire

"Three hundred years, Lihle," Malika whispered as she stared at her sister who was watching her with a smile on her face.

This was the first time that Mbali openly smiled at Malika who was so excited about it that she would have jumped off a roof in happiness just to show the world what this moment meant to her.

She could feel herself getting giddy and Malika wasn't about to deny herself that feeling. Time had been the greatest test of their lives and right now, no matter what happened along the way, there was no reason for them to be apart.

It was something that they had thought of and they both knew that they had to fight back, even if time was what they had to fight too.

"Felt like a million years, Freya," Mbali admitted as her sister embraced her heartily.
