The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 588: When The Night Wasn’t Filled With Terror

[HAWI]

The worry that had been in the air along with the tension of the unknown slowly simmered as it gave way to a valid excitement from the wolves. The happiness on their faces was a reminder that all would be well for them all.

More than anything, this right here was the reminder that she was so close to getting her ate back. She didn't care what the fates had in store, because she would fight until there was no fight left in her.

And even then, she would fight for her mate. The goddess might have found a way to make her promise sheet and stay away from her mate. But this right here was home for her Ruru, not the damned palace that had so many restrictions.

Hawi knew that the love of her life had no clue about home and whatnot.

But she would remind Ruru of what they had. She would bring her back or her and she would make sure the realm never once forgot what it was that we wanted to have Hawi and Ruru on the same side.

She would fight for her mate and it wasn't just something she was going to go slow about, and perhaps Islinda had also known that too, because at Hawi's thoughts, the start was even brighter than they had been earlier.

This was a special day and it would be more special eventually. Hopefully, they wouldn't have to engage with the Salvadors. But was that something that they even knew of right now?

"You people look like shit," Hawi said with a laugh once Elodie had pulled back from her. She was currently seated next to the Savasci knights, her friends who had been controlling their excitement with every ounce of their willpower.

It took a lot, truly because they had been missing Hawi for so long that they had been waiting on her to give them a sign that she was coming home, but they never once got one.

"You should look in the mirror," Adolf teased and Hawi let out a laugh.

She had changed over the years and she knew it. She had gotten skinnier; her eyes had gotten deeper in her attempt to maintain the Rafael facade she had been putting on at Club Hernia.

That job may have been her only link with humanity but it was also the stress of missing her mate that had driven her to this point. She looked unhealthy as fuck and it was saddening to some point. Find your next read on My Virtual Library Empire

Beyond the memories they held and the desire they all had to see their alpha back home, there was no knowing that this was not something that they had planned for or even wanted to see. Hawi was different and it would hurt to some extent.

But right now, they are happy and that was all that needed to matter.

"You're still mean, I'll tell you to Zaniel," Hawi said in a soft teasing, and whiny tone and Adolf stared at her like the woman had lost a part of her mind. There was just no way that this was supposed to work on his mate, right?

"You wouldn't," Adolf said and Hawi stared at him, holding his gaze.

"Are you sure about that? You think I won't tell you?" Hawi asked and Adolf glared at her like she wasn't about to do that at any point in time. It just didn't sound like the most sensible of things, right?

Well, perhaps it was so or maybe it was just the sides that made it a little more interesting.

They weren't even two minutes back home and they were bickering again. Hawi and Adolf went on to bicker for the next five minutes while the rest of the knights watched in amusement.

Zaniel who was to receive the report was just watching in awe, as Hawi unwinded with her friends. This was not what he had imagined with the woman who was known to kill first and ask questions later.

Granted, Zaniel had officially joined the knights during the war, so he pretty much hadn't gotten to see a side of Hawi that was simpler and kinder before that. Perhaps that's why part of him had been worried about Adolf, especially now that Rukiya Greyson wasn't here.

But then again, the longer they bickered, the more Zaniel was concerned that the entire team of the Savasci knights was just a bunch of psychotic people who had come together to make their lives better or dumber.

It was insane really, but then what else was there for the lot of them. This was what happiness did look like for the most of the time and there was no big reason that it was praiseworthy, even with the madness.

"The first one to shut up gets a cake," Sherry said suddenly, having had enough of the bickering with the tow. She knew them a little too well and she knew they could go on with this until the night came today and back to night again.

There was no limit to them because she was sure that at some point of this. The others would have joined them and then it would once again be a madhouse.

"No way that silenced then," Rio watched amusedly as the duo that had been bickering sat in silence like this way more than their lives had been worth. As much as it was exciting to see them bicker, it was also nice to see that they hadn't changed over the years.

Despite the losses the team had been dealt, they had managed to keep themselves on the same page. The one that always had the people around them questioning if these were the immortal murdered and lethal weapons of Sicario.

Then again, would they even say to that, right? After all, they couldn't all always be at war with whatever the fuck was out there, no?

"Welcome to the family, love," Theo said with a light laugh, and the rest of the knights joined in. However, even then, Adolf and Hawi started silent, like they were dead serious about getting their cake. And perhaps that's the way for them to shut up for the entire night, no?

"How do you want your cakes?" Sherry asked hoping to get an answer from the duo, but the two idiots just dared to use sign language to tell Sherry how they wanted their cakes.

It was an agonizingly hilarious moment because even the wolves who were watching looked at them like they were not serious about their lives. Then again, life and food were the most important things to any knight of the Savasci team.

"I vote we let them stay silent till morning," Elodie said and Amina nodded at the suggestion like it was more ridiculous than the entire thing, but then again, with the way that the knights were seated, it wasn't that hard to tell that they would truly put this to a vote.

"That's a little mean, don't you think?" Hudhayfah jumped to their defense.

"One is about to yap our ears off while the other is about to go to the dance floor and sing with her horrible voice. I am just saving us from being deaf and blind at the same time, you know that too," Elodie defended her suggestion and they all burst out laughing.
