Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Teaching a Class Alone:
Inside an old office building, in a simple classroom, Qi Xueyao stood at the front, smiling as she taught a group of students.
However, instead of the young children she once taught, her students were now high school juniors and seniors or well-off adults.
These people all wanted to study abroad, travel overseas, or improve their English for work.
Since 1996, Li Yang’s Crazy English had sparked a nationwide wave of English learning, making it slightly late for Qi Xueyao to enter the market.
But she had her own advantages.
She was young, beautiful, energetic, and had perfect pronunciation, which helped attract many young learners.
After all, given the choice, most people would rather listen to a beautiful woman than an old man teaching a class.
On top of that, she had introduced an innovative marketing strategy—offering three free trial lessons before students had to pay for enrollment.
This forward-thinking approach quickly attracted her first batch of students.
Looking at the attentive faces in front of her, Qi Xueyao smiled, feeling motivated.
She could already sense that she had taken the first successful step in her entrepreneurial journey.
It wouldn’t be long before her training center flourished and earned her a fortune.
Once she made her first bucket of gold, she would rent more space, hire young, dynamic teachers, and replicate her success, gradually expanding her business empire.
“Hmph, what’s so special about those second-generation rich kids? I, Qi Xueyao, will become a first-generation tycoon!”
“By the time that bastard Qi Lin squanders his family fortune, I’ll already be a billionaire. Let’s see if he still has the nerve to show off in front of me then!”
Just thinking about yesterday’s Häagen-Dazs incident made her fume with anger.
What she didn’t know was that the very person she was cursing in her mind was currently leaning lazily against the classroom wall outside, listening to her lecture.
“Qi Xueyao is quite capable. She even came up with the idea of offering free trial lessons—such an advanced marketing strategy. If she’s given more time, she might really grow wings and challenge my family one day.”
“That said, I never really thought much of her office attire at home, but now that she’s standing in a classroom teaching, she’s got that classic teacher look. The whole teacher-student atmosphere is really setting in.”
“If I get the chance, I should have her teach me a lesson alone.”
A playful glint flashed in Qi Lin’s dark eyes.
If Qi Xueyao knew what kind of thoughts he was having, she would probably be so angry that she’d whip him with a teacher’s pointer.
After confirming the location of her business, Qi Lin didn’t bother disturbing her. Instead, he turned and went downstairs.
The office building was at its busiest during this time, with people everywhere. If he tried to mess with Qi Xueyao now, the chances of being caught were too high.
He would wait until four or five in the afternoon, when most people had left, and then make his move.
For now, there were more important things to take care of.
Back in his car, Qi Lin picked up his phone and called Wang Dongcheng.
It was Saturday, so he had the day off from school, but Wang Dongcheng was still working hard in the factory.
Hearing his phone ring, Wang Dongcheng hesitated. If the workshop supervisor saw him, he’d get fined.
But when he saw that it was Qi Lin calling, he thought for a moment, then stepped aside and answered.
“Uncle Wang, it sounds noisy over there. Are you working? Am I disturbing you?”
Hearing the loud background noise, Qi Lin already guessed that Wang Dongcheng was at work.
Qi Lin’s polite tone caught Wang Dongcheng off guard, making him feel flattered.
“No! No! I’m free right now. Qi Lin, is there something you need?”
Qi Lin chuckled. “Not much, really. It’s Saturday, and I’ve got nothing to do, so I wanted to invite Siling to the amusement park.”
Good grief, this guy was really bold.
He was openly asking a father for permission to take his high school daughter out—wasn’t he afraid of getting his legs broken?
But Qi Lin wouldn’t have said this without a plan.
Last night, he had waived Wang Dongcheng’s 12,000-yuan repair fee, and on top of that, he was polite and well-mannered. Wang Dongcheng already thought highly of him.
Just yesterday, he had been thinking about setting him up with Wang Siling.
Now that he heard Qi Lin take the initiative to ask her out, he couldn’t hide his amusement.
“So this kid really is interested in my daughter, huh?”
Thinking this, Wang Dongcheng forced a smile. “Well, Qi Lin, I’m really sorry, but Siling already made plans this morning to go to the river with her classmates. She’s probably not home right now.”
Hearing that Wang Siling wasn’t home, Qi Lin found it amusing.
This girl was probably avoiding him, so she had left early in the morning.
She might have gone out with her female classmates, but along the way, that guy Yu Chen would likely show up, and the two of them would take the chance to pour their hearts out to each other.
But Qi Lin had been reborn. How could he let their feelings grow stronger?
This call wasn’t just to invite her out—it was to find out her whereabouts so he could plan his next move.
“Uncle Wang, that’s fine. If Siling is busy today, I’ll ask her out another time.”
Qi Lin said with a smile before hanging up.
“This kid is really well-mannered, far better than that brat Yu Chen. If Siling and Qi Lin ended up together, that would be perfect.”
After the call ended, Wang Dongcheng couldn’t help but sigh, thinking what a good kid Qi Lin was.
