The seer's eyes

Chapter 19: Go to hell with me.

The days had turned chilly as the month of November arrived with heavy rains and gloomy cold nights, and a hint of regrets and burden.

As the days bled into months, Fannah's oath to never go back to sufiyan remained as firm as his nightmares from Al-samash, life was getting back on track, with just four days until his wedding he was busier then ever, the house was also full of joy as close relatives had started arriving for the big day.

Fannah went about his usual routine, forgetting even the existence of the beautiful face that once left him in anxious worry and worship.

It was late in the evening, Fannah was driving his car back to home, when his phone rang in the silence that engulfed the car like a serpent of loneliness.

He answered the call as his eyes remained on the road, driving carefully through the pits and bumps of the road of this old city.

"Fannah, where are you?, why are not you home yet?, it's getting so late". Yasmeen said as soon as Fannah answered the call.

"I am coming soon". He answered unenergetically.

"Your wedding is just four days away, why are you so careless, everyone keeps asking about you". Yasmeen lectured him in an anxious tone, making Fannah sigh.

"Mama, i can't stop working just because I am getting married, and it's still four days away, what do you want me to do at home?", Fannah asked frustrated.

"I am not telling you to stay at home all day, I am just asking you to come back early, but whatever let your wife come, she will teach you a good lesson". Yasmeen said to which Fannah just shook his head and was about to say something to his mother, when a bright red light blinded his eyes and the phone fell from his hands.

Fannah held the steering wheel both his hands and tried to stop the car but to no avail as it kept drifting ahead, and suddenly,

Bam.

There was a crash as the car hit something that should not have been there and Fannah's head hit the window.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the pain or the fading counciusness as he sat frozen in the car but nothing happened, his counciusness remained as clear as ever and no pain ever made his head or body throb, only silence prevailed, now more so then ever as no one on the road came to check out the accident.

After some time of hauntig loneliness and no pain, Fannah opened his eyes, but as soon as he did, his eyes went wide open as his grip on the steering wheel became firmer, he tried to start the car again, only to find out the system has completely crashed out as he sat in his car in a completely unfamiliar place.

The surroundings were as dark as the eyes of death, with only a narrow road that could only accomodate one person at a time in front of him, full of mud and dirt.

Fannah remained seated in his car, still not letting go as he kept trying to get his car going, but nothing happened, the lantern on the side of the road flickered as a gust of wind passed by, Fannah steeled himself and unlocked his seat belt.

"this must be an abandoned road on the side of the road, nothing wrong, there are too many small alleys in this old city". Fannah told himself as he got out of the car, there was nothing unusual, even though there was no light but there were sounds of chattering in the distance.

Fannah picked up the lantern by the side touched his locket before taking a step on this road, but as soon as Fannah took his first step on the road a scream escaped his lips.

"Augghhh", he screamed as he staggered back, his foot was burning and his shoes had disappeared into thin air, Fannah looked down in shock, as the pain in his foot started spreading throughout his leg like the poison of love.

Fannah's breath hitched and his started going blurry from the pain so he tried to walk back to the car, but it was already gone, nothing.... absolutely nothing but dirt, before he could even try to run, the lantern in his hand turned upside down and fell to the ground, making a pool of fire engulf the chattering voices forever.

"this is just a dream, nothing else, Fannah wake up". yelled at himself as he tried to run away but his feet didn't move, keeping him glued to his place as the pool of fire became a sea in the blink of an eye as Fannah stood there helpless and bound.

"I liked you and even let you walk over me, but you still burned my beloved city". A voice called as a red rose emerged from the sea of horrors, Fannah kept looking at it terrified as it made its way infront of him, making a shiver run down his spine.

"this is impossible... impossible, how can a rose talk, Fannah wake up, wake up, Al-samash is gone and so are these things". Fannah yelled at himself, but nothing happened, the rose still floated in front of him.

"Instead of being thankful you turned me into ashes, now you have to turn into ashes too". The flower said as it twirled in air and suddenly a strong gust of wind flung Fannah into the air and he crashed into the tree.

His vision spun, the bark of the tree carved into his back, his breath was knocked out of his lungs as the the pain from his broken ribs and spine made him unable to move, he lay there stunned and horrified as the pain made his body lurch and tremble in shock.

"You deserve to burn as you burned us". The rose screamed and a thorn was thrown at Fannah which nailed his hand on the tree, making a painful shriek leave Fannah's mouth, as he tried to twist his body, trying to get away from the pain that was making his insides burn and rot.

Fannah looked at the sea of fire, as a pair of animal hands slithered towards him.

"Come, i will take you to the city centre, we need you there", the voice said as it slowly started curling around his ankles like the smoke of revenge and anguish, dragging Fannah away from the tree.

"Augghhhhh, augghhhhhhhhhhh". Fannah screamed at the top of his lungs as his palm split into two, making the blood soak the thorn that still stayed nailed in the bark of the tree.

Fannah's screames filled the air as the laughters from Al-samash rang in his ears, the creatures, the officer, the superintendent, the beautiful girl, all of them, their voices choking Fannah as he tried to look at his hand that was split into two, making his throat burn with agony as the hands dragged him towards the sea of fire, quietly submerging his body into the lava.

"Nooooooo, someone help me, help me". Fannah screamed as his cries got voilent, trying to escape from the sea of hell, but nothing worked, the hands still enveloping around his ankles like they are adament on taking him to hell with them.

"you will go with us, i like your voice, i like it". A voice rang in his ears as he felt his hands being bound too, someone was holding his head so the lava poured into his mouth, silencing his cries forever as he started burning to death.
