The Seventh Base

Chapter 85: Purchasing a Warship

"Hiss hiss!"

A sharp sound erupted, and terrifying energy light burst from the sword, tearing through the armor and piercing directly into the opponent's body.

Boom!

A loud noise followed, the opponent fell to the ground, spitting blood, the sword's intent entered his body, and the destructive energy rampaged within, instantly crippling him but not killing him.

The newcomer was Ye Huan; he needed a captive.

Above their heads, a warplane descended, and the people notified by Ize and Carter also arrived; their response was extremely fast. The battle hadn't lasted long from start to finish, but the speed of top-tier warplanes was truly astonishing.

It's over now.

Xu Mo thought to himself with relief. Four powerful fighters, all equipped with SS-grade gear—if not for a desperate battle, he probably couldn't have held on until now. Additionally, Zero and Sister Butterfly had also desperately held two people back for him.

"Sister Butterfly, are you alright?" Xu Mo asked. Although Ye Qingdie had a superpower weapon with a strong attack, her own strength was too weak. She had been heavily struck just now, but her armor protected her, absorbing most of the impact. The second attack from the opponent was blocked by Zero, otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable—an SS-grade ferocious hammer could have shattered Sister Butterfly through her armor.

"I'm okay... cough." Ye Qingdie's voice barely finished before she coughed up a mouthful of blood. She opened her helmet, her face pale, clearly injured.

"Go to the hospital," Xu Mo said.

"It's not serious," Ye Qingdie shook her head, "Let's deal with the situation here first. Who sent these people?"

Xu Mo's eyes were very cold as he walked towards the man Ye Huan had captured. Ye Huan was already pressing for answers, but the man hadn't spoken.

From the warplane, figures in armor descended, securing the area.

Ye Huan glanced at Xu Mo, and Xu Mo nodded. Source Power surged into Ye Huan's sword, and in an instant, that figure was killed. Although keeping captives could make it easier to find out their identities, Xu Mo did not want the Lucas Star Officials to know too much.

Xu Mo contacted Ize and Carter, who were also on their way.

More and more people arrived. Some questioned Xu Mo, who didn't reveal much, only stating that he worked at Lucas University Library and that Zero was a student at Lucas University. They had been mysteriously targeted for assassination and hoped the inquirers could clarify the identities.

However, a battle of this magnitude in the capital of Lucas Star wasn't something that could be explained in a few words. Xu Mo waited until Ize and Carter arrived and asked, "What's going on?"

"It's likely related to Blue Star Energy Technology Group; help me check their identities, see if we can expose the instigator," Xu Mo replied.

The two nodded and negotiated with the others. After the negotiations, they were permitted to let Xu Mo and his group leave. If not for the high status of Ize and Carter, they could have been taken away for further investigation.

Obviously, they couldn't continue living here. Xu Mo and his group headed to the headquarters of Blue Star Energy Technology Group, which had sufficiently strong defensive forces.

Xu Mo took a few days off. Until the situation was thoroughly investigated, other dangers could not be ruled out, so he needed to be cautious.

Several days later, Xu Mo received a call from Ize.

"Have you found anything?" Xu Mo asked.

"Yes," Ize replied. "We traced several alien mechanical companies from the equipment on the four individuals. You've encountered them at Mechanical God Arena before. The companies are backed by the Alien Group and come from different planets, including Camp Star, Krusu Star, and Lantis Star. However, we can't solely identify the instigator from the mechanical equipment—they often visit the Mechanical God Arena, and you know it's quite chaotic there, leaving us with no further clues."

"Is it because of that last super mechanical battle, trying to suppress our group?" Ize asked.

"Possibly," Xu Mo said.

But he knew, it wasn't that simple. After that incident, he was sure he hadn't exposed his identity; apart from his own people, no one else knew he was the founder of Blue Star Energy Technology Group.

To target Blue Star Energy Technology Group, they should have sought Ross, there was no reason to come here.

Moreover, these three planets were all invasion planets of Byron Star.

This meant that the opponents had discovered his origin from Byron Star, and they wanted a captive for the purpose of Deep Sea Technology.

He must have been exposed.

Those targeting him weren't just from Mechanical Group; they were backed by several planetary wills.

However, because this was Lucas Star, the opposition, despite their intentions, dared not act overtly. With planetary wills behind them, uncovering more clues was nearly impossible.

Lucas Star was the headquarters of the Star System Alliance, and it was inevitable that members of the Alliance had significant forces laid out on Lucas Star, forces that usually might not even be used.

Although they had taken this seriously, they still didn't fully understand his strength; after all, in the final battle on Byron Star, he had merely hidden among the crowd from the Divine Sword Bureau, taking potshots, letting the carrier shine.

This instilled a sense of crisis in Xu Mo. If there were to be a next move, it might be more fierce.

And since the opponents were in the shadows, and they were in the light.

Of course, SS-grade Transcendents wouldn't expose themselves so easily. After all, at the SS level, they were top Transcendents for any planet, and exposing themselves could lead to sacrifice, which was no small cost.

Xu Mo was still pondering one issue—he had always been at Lucas University, how had he been exposed?
