The Shimura Actually Has Ice Release

Chapter 58: Chapter 58: The Evil Peeping Jiraiya Gets Caught

"You sneaky little brat, let me, the envoy of Mount Myōboku, take you down—"

Feeling assured after handing Kakashi over to the toad he had summoned, Jiraiya cracked his knuckles, ready to personally teach this underhanded brat Takeshi a lesson.

"Hmm?"

Just as he closed the distance between him and Takeshi with incredible speed and extended his hand, Jiraiya suddenly froze mid-motion, frowning as he looked toward the nearby bushes.

Someone was watching him?

Takeshi had already accepted his fate when he felt the wind rushing behind him. He'd even come to a stop, ready for Jiraiya to grab him. After all, the man was one of the legendary Sannin—he wouldn't do anything too terrible to them. Besides, Jiraiya had been the one peeping first; Takeshi was in the right here.

But after waiting a while with no action from Jiraiya, Takeshi turned around and saw the man's hand frozen mid-air, eyes scanning in a completely different direction.

[That presence… Anbu? I see now, they're the ones protecting this kid—]

Just as Jiraiya was piecing together the identity of the chakra he sensed, something completely unexpected happened.

A green blur burst out of the bushes, charging at Jiraiya with unstoppable momentum.

"Nani?!"

Jiraiya, who had been focused entirely elsewhere, was caught off guard and took a direct kick to the face.

"How dare you lay a hand on my friend? Feel the wrath of youth!"

With a confident and dazzling smile, Might Guy sent Jiraiya flying with his kick, and as he landed, he struck his signature pose—thumb up, bright white teeth gleaming.

"My friend Takeshi, I'm here to rescue you! The police force is on its way, so leave the scene to me!"

Shielding Takeshi behind him, Might Guy took a defensive stance, ready for any counterattack from Jiraiya.

"Uh, well, how should I put this..."

Looking at Jiraiya, whose nose was now gushing blood from the kick, Takeshi couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Was getting kicked by Guy Jiraiya's fate? Come to think of it, hasn't everyone who's been kicked by him failed to make it to the end of the story?

"Da... Damn it..."

Feeling the warm trickle of blood pouring from his nostrils, Jiraiya realized what a truly terrible day this was turning out to be.

His research had been interrupted. He'd been inexplicably pummeled by a bunch of kids. He was one of the legendary Sannin, for heaven's sake!

What happened to his dignity?!

But he couldn't really take things too far with these kids. Damn it. His nose was bleeding even harder now.

"Hah, never thought I'd live to see Guy land a hit on you."

On the other side, Kakashi walked over casually with his hands in his pockets.

"Huh? That's weird—Kakashi, weren't you wrapped up by the toad?"

Takeshi looked him up and down curiously.

"Oh, that? I used a substitution jutsu to escape."

He pointed behind him at a wooden log. His tone was completely nonchalant.

In the end, the only ones who had taken any real damage were Obito and Jiraiya...

Takeshi held his forehead in exasperation as he looked at Obito, who was still lying on the ground, stars circling above his head.

"Hmph! Brat, just you wait!"

Feeling that he'd lose his mind if he stayed around these kids any longer, Jiraiya finally decided to flee. But just as he tried to act on his threat, a group of people pinned him down before he could move.

"Who dares cause trouble in Konoha?"

Members of the police force, their uniforms marked with the Uchiha fan symbol, suddenly appeared and surrounded Jiraiya. Uchiha Yatsushiro and Uchiha Inaho even stepped in personally to subdue him.

They'd rushed over after being notified by Might Guy, and upon arriving, they saw a white-haired adult threatening a group of defenseless and "pitiful" children.

Overflowing with a sense of justice, they immediately assumed Jiraiya was the culprit and acted without hesitation, catching him off guard and restraining him.

"Wait, Guy, how did you know we were in danger?"

Watching one of the Sannin get pinned down by the police, Takeshi looked wide-eyed at Guy, who still wore his confident smile.

"I was following behind you guys when you climbed the mountain. Just as I was about to say hi, I saw that guy suddenly charge forward. So I rushed back down to get help, then ran back up the mountain at full speed."

Might Guy spoke in a light and casual tone, but what he said shocked everyone.

From the time he saw Takeshi and the others encountering Jiraiya, to the moment Jiraiya gained the upper hand—Guy had done a full round trip?

"You... you monster..."

Even someone like Kakashi was stunned by the sheer stamina Guy displayed.

"Hmm? You... you look kinda familiar."

Back on Yatsushiro's side, as he was about to apply more force to restrain Jiraiya, he suddenly realized the man looked a little familiar...

"Uh, nope, not familiar at all! First time here!"

Seeing that his identity was about to be discovered, Jiraiya panicked and changed his voice pitch, trying to mislead them.

"Tch, I think I know who he is too. Wait a sec... you're Jiraiya, aren't you?"

Uchiha Inaho, who had once participated in the battle at Amegakure as a Genin, studied him carefully and suddenly recognized him.

"Jiraiya? That's right, you're Jiraiya-sama."

With Inaho's reminder, Yatsushiro's expression lit up with realization.

Even after recognizing him, neither man loosened their grip. In fact, they tightened their hold.

This was one of the Sannin. If they gave him even the slightest chance, he could easily escape.

No—even with all their effort, it still felt like he could shake them off at any second. That's the power of a Sannin's reputation.

"This is... all a big misunderstanding!"

Jiraiya gave an awkward, appeasing smile. Once you're caught by the police force, escaping becomes a hassle. Even though he could easily break free, Jiraiya chose to explain instead.

"Y-Yatsushiro-san? You're here! He's the peeping pervert!"

Before Jiraiya could continue, Obito, who had just regained consciousness, pointed a shaky finger at him, completely ignoring his own pain.

"Peeping pervert? Is this true, Kakashi? Takeshi?"

Yatsushiro, who had already heard about Takeshi's background from Fugaku, turned his gaze toward the others.

"Uh, yeah, it's true."

Now that it had come to this, Takeshi had no choice. Justice had to be served, after all!

With Kakashi's nod and both Takeshi and Obito personally identifying him, the case was airtight.

And so, the righteous police force escorted the ashen-faced Jiraiya toward headquarters.
