Chapter 11: The Barrier of Madness
The sky was clear, the wind crisp, and the vast stretch of trees ahead danced under the midday sun.
Rain, First-Class Maid of Guy Crimson, the Primordial Blue, sliced through the clouds like a lightning bolt wrapped in shadows. Her sleek black cloak rippled wildly behind her, her eyes narrowed with razor-sharp focus. Her demonic aura was suppressed to keep a low profile, but her speed? Unrivaled. Faster than the wind. Faster than the sound of her own movement.
She wasn't just doing this for intel—she had a score to settle. That smug golden-haired lizard embarrassed her lord in front of the entire world, and now everyone was acting like Veldora was the new king of creation.
"Hmph. Something's fishy. And I'm gonna find out what it is," Rain muttered, her eyes locked on the green blur of the Jura Forest far ahead.
But just as the trees began to take shape beneath her—
FWUMP.
The sky turned pink.
The clouds became neon green.
Rain blinked, suddenly hovering in the middle of a giant desert with red sand dunes and heatwaves dancing all around her.
"…Huh?"
She whipped her head around. "Where—what the hell just—"
She had no idea where she was.
One second she was directly above the Jura Forest.
The next? She was in what looked like a fantasy version of Mars.
"Okay… okay. Let's try that again," she muttered, a bead of sweat running down her cheek.
She took off again. BOOM.
This time she used spatial magic, warping directly to the border of the Jura Forest.
She smirked. "Ha. Let's see you dodge that—"
BOOM.
Now she was in a jungle, surrounded by birds chirping in different colors, literally. One bird was singing dubstep.
Rain gritted her teeth. "No… freaking… way."
Again.
BOOM.
Now she was at the bottom of the ocean, surrounded by glowing whales doing synchronized dances.
She screamed underwater, letting out a bubble.
Again!
BOOM.
Now she was upside down on a floating island with tea-pouring clouds raining cinnamon.
Rain was shaking.
She snapped, eyes glowing crimson. "OKAY, WHO IS DOING THIS?!"
Back at the cabin in the Jura Forest…
Saiki sat at his wooden table under the shade of the cabin porch, legs crossed, reading a manga, spooning coffee jelly like it was the elixir of life. His expression didn't change, but a small twitch of amusement danced at the edge of his lip.
"Yare yare... She's more persistent than I expected," he thought.
A small magical screen hovered next to him, showing Rain screaming as she teleported once again—this time to a snow-covered volcano.
"But she's learning the hard way. My teleport-redirect trap barrier isn't something you can just brute-force through."
"It's based on my imagination, after all."
He sighed in relief. "At least she's entertaining."
Two hours later…
Rain dragged her smoky, dirt-covered, cactus-poked self back into the Ice Continent throne room.
She stood silently.
Guy raised a brow. "Well? What'd you find?"
Velzard sipped her tea casually.
Rain's eye twitched. She took a deep breath, then:
"I GOT YEETED ACROSS THE WORLD SEVEN TIMES!"
Velzard blinked. "Pardon?"
Rain's hands flailed. "I got to the forest's edge—bam! Desert. I try again—bam! Ocean. Jungle. Candy Island! BRO I LANDED INSIDE A VOLCANO."
Guy tilted his head. "…You're a demon. Why are you out of breath?"
"I'm not tired!" Rain snapped. "I'm mentally exhausted!"
Velzard chuckled, putting down her cup. "Teleportation warding. Strong one, too."
Rain glared. "That's not warding. That's revenge art."
Guy leaned forward, eyes narrowing.
"So… what you're saying is—?"
"No one," Rain said flatly, "is getting into the Jura Forest. Not even a fly unless it's allowed. That barrier? That's not magic. That's a psycho's playhouse."
Silence.
Guy leaned back on his throne.
"Well then…"
Velzard spoke softly. "Whoever did this isn't just powerful. They're intelligent. Which makes them dangerous."
Rain threw her hands up. "And probably bored! Like, how do you even think of a trap that sends people to underwater musicals?!"
Guy's fingers drummed on the throne.
"So Veldora has a backer."
Rain nodded. "Big time. And whoever it is… they're not just watching us. They're playing us."
Guy smirked. "Then maybe it's time we play back."
Velzard glanced at him. "Careful, Guy. We still don't know the rules of this game."
Back in the Jura Forest...
Saiki finally stretched.
Veldora peeked his head out of the cabin.
"Was that Rain?" he asked.
Saiki nodded. "She won't be coming back."
Veldora smirked. "Nice."
Saiki sighed, sipping coffee jelly. "And now we wait for the next idiot."
Later that day.....
Veldora trying to recreate his "Guy Crimson Punch of Doom" using a boulder as a target (and completely missing), and Saiki lounging on the porch sipping a fresh cup of coffee jelly, sighing like always.
"Yare yare… I guess it's time."
He had decided.
The kingdom wasn't going to build itself.
Sure, he could build an entire futuristic metropolis in seconds if he wanted to, but where was the fun in that? And more importantly—where's the peace in that?
"I'll get someone else to do it. Time for some dwarves."
Saiki sat up, put down his spoon, and with a flick of his finger, activated a massive psychic scan of the entire planet. A brilliant blue light flashed in his eyes as he sifted through cities, villages, and empires like they were magazine pages.
Then—BINGO.
"Dwargon… Kingdom of Steel. Mountain fortress. Capital of craftsmanship... Oh, and there's the king too."
He zoomed in mentally, seeing King Gazel Dwargo sipping tea on his throne, surrounded by his military advisors. Saiki casually swiped him aside like a fly buzzing over a magazine page.
"Let's see… bars, smithies, alleys—oh! Who's this guy?"
He stopped at a thick-armed dwarf hammering molten steel, sweat pouring down his muscular frame, sparks flying like a firework show.
"Kaijin. Mmm, dedicated, focused, strong work ethic, cool beard. He's the one."
Then Saiki's psychic lens zoomed out, revealing Kaijin's three brothers, all hammering, sawing, polishing swords and armor with the same discipline and grit.
"Four dwarves? All blacksmiths? Jackpot."
He tapped his chin.
"Now how do I do this without anyone throwing a fit? Hmm… Alter memories? Yep. Classic."
With another snap of his fingers—poof—the entire Dwargon Kingdom experienced a brain lag.
In Dwargon...
King Gazel looked up from his tea.
"…Huh. I feel like I forgot something."
His general blinked. "Forgot what, your majesty?"
Gazel scratched his beard. "Exactly."
The barmaid at the local tavern stopped pouring a mug mid-flow.
"Didn't we use to have a regular dwarf who sat there every morning?"
The adventurer beside her shrugged. "Nah. You're probably just tipsy."
The blacksmith guild leader stood in front of an empty workbench, staring at a nameplate that now read "Reserved."
"Strange," he muttered, "I feel like someone used to work here… but… who?"
Meanwhile, Kaijin and his brothers had suddenly vanished.
Back in the Jura Forest...
SHWOOOM—a bright flash of light erupted in the middle of the newly cleared central district of Saiki's growing kingdom.
Four dwarves appeared out of nowhere, blinking under the sunlight like they'd just finished a nap.
Kaijin looked around, hammer still in hand.
"Alright boys! Break time over! Time to report to King Veldora and finish up that forge!"
His brothers nodded, already unpacking their tools, heading toward the temporary construction area with purpose in their steps.
From the porch, Veldora looked utterly confused.
"Uh… Saiki? When did I hire dwarves?"
Saiki stood up slowly, brushing coffee jelly crumbs from his shirt. "Yare yare… They've always worked for you, remember?"
Veldora blinked. "Wait… they have?"
Saiki nodded, activating his mental override field again just for fun.
"Yeah. Loyal subjects. Blacksmith squad. Top tier."
Veldora scratched his head, then squinted at Kaijin and the others hammering away like they'd lived there for decades.
"Huh… yeah. That's right. They have always been here. Wow. What amazing subordinates I have! I really am a king now!"
Saiki internally sighed.
"It's like babysitting a dragon-sized child."
Meanwhile, Kaijin approached the porch, wiping sweat from his brow.
"My Lord Veldora! The foundation of the forge is almost done. We'll have weapon and armor production ready by the end of the week!"
Veldora gave a kingly nod and crossed his arms. "Excellent work, Kaijin! Your king is proud!"
Kaijin beamed, saluted, and walked off proudly.
Saiki raised an eyebrow. "You actually sounded regal for a second."
Veldora puffed up his chest. "Of course! I am a king now. I need to be taken seriously."
Then he tripped over his own cape and fell flat on his face.
Kaijin ran back. "My Lord! Are you alright?!"
Veldora gave a thumbs-up from the ground. "I meant to do that."
And with the dwarves now hard at work, the goblins beginning training, and more intelligent monsters hearing whispers of a rising kingdom in the heart of the forest—
"Everything is going according to plan," Saiki murmured to himself, legs crossed on his porch, gazing at the sunset.
"Now, if only people would stop being curious."
