Chapter 30: Walpurgis Reignited
The sky above the infernal hall churned with black clouds and swirling magic. A dome of absolute darkness kept time frozen outside its borders. A thousand torches burned with blue flames, casting long, stretching shadows around the obsidian table. In the center floated a great crystal eye—the symbol of Walpurgis—watching. Recording.
At the head of the table sat Guy Crimson, the oldest and most feared of all Demon Lords. His arms were crossed, crimson eyes unmoving. Beside him stood Rain, hands folded, back straight.
To his left sat Velzard, the white calamity, First of the True Dragons. She never attended these petty meetings—until now.
This time… it was about her brother.
First came Draguel, the colossal leader of the Giants. His presence rumbled the floor like a mountain shifting.
Then Dino, the lazy angel, floated in half-asleep, dragging a pillow.
Next, the storm arrived—Milim Nava, barefoot, wide grin, radiating wild excitement.
Frey entered gracefully, wings tucked neatly, eyes sharp.
Leon Cromwell came with cold elegance, his golden hair flowing like fire, his silence loud.
Then Carrion, strong and upright, his beastly aura thrumming with tension.
And last… Clayman, wearing his usual smug grin, unaware his own end was being quietly written in the shadows.
They sat.
The room became still.
Then Guy leaned forward slightly and looked toward Rain.
Rain (firmly): "This Walpurgis is now in session."
Guy stood up, his presence commanding immediate silence.
Guy:
"I assume you all know the reason we're here. If not, then allow me to spell it out."
He walked slowly around the table.
Guy:
"The world has changed. The balance we once upheld… has shattered."
"Luminous Valentine has fallen. Her dominion—Ruberios—no longer answers to her. That was one of us."
Gasps. Shifts. Even Dino sat up straighter.
Guy (coolly):
"And the one who defeated her? Veldora. The Storm Dragon. No longer just a wild force—he's a King now."
He pointed to the swirling eye in the air, showing magical images of the battle. Veldora disarming Luminous. Her body pierced. The church's army crushed like ants. The illusions. The chaos. The absolute power.
Guy:
"So I ask you all now... what do we do?"
Before anyone else could speak, Velzard stood. Cold, regal, terrifying.
Velzard:
"My brother… has always been underestimated. He was sealed, mocked, called 'the reckless storm.' But now you see. That recklessness… was restraint."
"What he did was no mere show of power. It was a warning. A declaration to the world."
"Come for me, and I will erase you."
Everyone stared at her in silence. Even Guy didn't interrupt.
Velzard (coldly):
"If any of you are foolish enough to challenge him now, I will stand beside him."
Clayman (scoffing):
"So you would betray us all for family?"
She turned her ice-blue eyes on him.
Velzard:
"Clayman, you don't have the authority to speak of betrayal when im sure your schemes led to this."
Clayman clenched his jaw, but said nothing more.
Carrion:
"It was supposed to be a civil world war. Falmuth wanted a new route and was greedy Ruberios wanted dominance but Hinata was fooled. But Veldora turned their ambition into ash."
"I saw it. My spies reported every second. This wasn't just military might. It was divine retribution."
Leon sipped from his chalice.
Leon:
"I underestimated Veldora once. I won't do it again.we all saw his fight against Guy..."
"But what's more important is this: Ruberios is now under his control. Whether through submission or deception—it doesn't matter."
"A Demon Lord fell. And a Dragon took her place."
Dino (yawning):
"Honestly, I thought this was just drama… but even I felt that pressure when he descended. My wings stiffened, man."
"Let's not tick him off."
Frey:
"If Luminous could fall… what chance do we have if we make him our enemy?"
"I suggest we don't."
Milim (bouncing slightly):
"He was awesome! Did you see how he caught Luminous' blade with two fingers?!"
"But he's not the same Veldora. He's... calculated now. Like Guy. I think someone's helping him."
Guy raised an eyebrow at that. But didn't comment.
Clayman:
"We can't just let him rise without consequence! He humiliated one of us! He'll do it again!"
Guy (coldly):
"And what do you suggest we do, Clayman? Attack him? Try and kill him? You first."
Clayman looked away.
Right after Guy Crimson responded to Clayman and shifted his gaze, an eerie silence cloaked the grand chamber of Walpurgis.
And then—
BOOM.
The ground quaked. Walls cracked. Dust trembled from the ceiling like it was afraid.
Every Demon Lord immediately stood, instincts firing like wildfire. The air turned thick—too thick to breathe. It was as if the world itself was holding its breath.
The temperature dropped, but sweat dripped from their temples.
Rain and Misery, loyal maids of Guy, froze. Even their pupils refused to move.
Frey, Carrion, and Clayman stumbled backward, their knees threatening to give out.
Leon narrowed his eyes, placing a hand on his sword's hilt.
Dino blinked off his usual laziness and stood straight, brows furrowed.
Velzard, for the first time in centuries, looked confused. And concerned.
And then they heard it.
A voice. Deep. Echoing from nowhere and everywhere.
Veldora (voice like a storm):
"Demon Lords… the strongest in the world… and the ones who decide the fate of it…
I. Have. Come."
The walls shivered. A chandelier snapped and crashed to the floor.
Guy's eyes widened.
Guy (low whisper): "No... this pressure… This isn't just Veldora. It's... something else."
From the farthest end of the chamber, space ripped open like silk.
Out walked Veldora—but not the Veldora they once knew.
His cloak of black and silver swirled like a living storm, and his eyes glowed with commanding power.
At his sides stood Testarossa, smiling calmly, and Benimaru, his eyes sharp like fire-forged steel.
Behind it all, hidden in plain sight yet unseen—Saiki Kusuo, the true mastermind, munched a rice cracker in silence.
Saiki (thinking):
"Yare yare... I went too far again, didn't I?"
As Veldora stepped forward, the floor repaired itself, then cracked again from the sheer force of his aura.
With a wave of his hand, enhanced by Saiki's invisible powers, the entire table doubled in length, and a throne of lightning and obsidian spiraled upward behind him—each arc of electricity screaming majesty.
Carrion (whispering): "T-this... this isn't a dragon. This is a god."
Clayman (shaking, pale): "I-I didn't sign up for this..."
Veldora sat down, movements calm but full of absolute dominance.
Veldora (low and thunderous):
"I believe this Walpurgis is about me…
So allow me to grace you all with my presence… and clarify a few things."
Every Demon Lord held their breath.
Veldora:
"Frey. Wise not to provoke me."
"Guy. Smart to acknowledge my rule."
"Velzard… dearest sister… standing with me is your best decision."
Velzard (softly): "...I didn't know he could sound like this."
Just then, with another gesture, the room filled with blinding golden light. Energy spun like a vortex, and from its center—
LUMINOUS VALENTINE stepped out.
Whole. Alive.
Milim (eyes wide): "Huh?! Luminous?! But she… she died!"
Leon: "This… is impossible. I felt her life disappear."
Dino (gulping): "I was gonna nap through this but... okay never mind."
Guy (to himself): "Resurrection? No… this is illusion, no—control. This is impossible …"
Then his eyes turned toward Testarossa. And he froze.
Guy (voice trembling): "That's… Primordial Blanc… Why is she here?! She was supposed to be in the underworld!"
Rain (barely whispering): "Master… what's going on…?"
Veldora leaned forward, hands folded atop the table, eyes glowing.
Veldora:
"This is not a performance. This is a message.
From this day forth, the Storm Kingdom stands as a sovereign above all.
And to prove our mercy—I return your comrade to you."
He nodded toward Luminous, who stood still in shock, her eyes glancing from face to face.
Luminous (whispers): "Why… didn't you kill me…?"
Veldora (with a grin):
"Because death is mercy. And mercy... must be earned."
Clayman fainted on the spot.
In a dark, quiet corner—
Saiki, half-invisible, eyes glowing faintly, munched another cracker.
Saiki (thinking):
"Yare yare"...
